KElly please look into India "paving" roads from Plastic bags and Tires. They do not create pot holes and are Way more durable than the current way the USA paves roads.
What an awesome human being she is..seeing a way to help others and she did, good for her..IMO this story shows that everyone can do something to help others, even if they think they can't do anything..just a simple smile can go a long way to help someone,it makes them feel that someone cares..I try to smile at everyone I pass when I'm in public, even if I feel crappy..it fills my ❤ to help others any way I can 😊
I think I'd be more proud of my state and affluent country if the horrendous wealth disparity didn't cause such high rates of homelessness in the first place.
Well thats an obvious, but seeing as i don’t have power over that, how about i just be happy that the beautiful woman doing something amazing is close to where I’m at? If you’re wanting to try and start something, i suggest you find someone who will play into your game. Have a lovely day Beth.
My grandmother did this 50 years ago with plastic bread bags. She made shopping bags and placemats. She would only use one brand of bread so that the colors worked out right for her. We kids kinda made fun of them. Who knew how much she was ahead of her time.
Jody Burke they need to put inmates to work more often in order to keep them active by doing something productive for society. I actually think that’s the best way to rehabilitate people.
My husband and I could use that queen sized mat. We are currently homeless and living in a tent at Grace Marketplace in Gainesville Florida. We are also both in wheelchairs.
@@Sarah-lj1fy thank you😳 i know you didn't say it but some do not all of us homeless people are worthless some are just down on luck and just takes sometimes to stand straight up again me for one for Sure lol😂but back working and back into stability whew😌
Eric Ostrowski Of course! Life can change within a second, nobody's exempt from that. Some people seem to think misfortune is reserved for those who don't it deserve it any better, but that's obviously nonsense. I'm glad you were able to turn it around!
Stop that...shes not old and red lipstick looks pretty on her...when you are 100 i hope you wear whatever colored lipstick you want to because this woman here and all the women i know could not care any less about what anyone thinks about their lipstick..and with the homeless people freezing cold outside lipstick is all you got out of this show? Really? Be kind speak nicely about everyone and if you cant come up with anthing nice to say heres a thought be silent because negative energy is toxic...and remember whether you care to accept it or not the facts are THAT WE ARE ALL FROM ONE CREATION ONE CREATOR WE ARE ALL ON THIS EARTH TOGETHER AND THAT MAKES US ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS ....SO.....BE KIND....BE LOVING AND NEVER FEED THE UGLY CRUEL OR EVIL THING THAT DRIVES YOU AWAY FROM BEING LOVED LOVEABLE AND KIND COMPASSIONATE AND GIVING UNSELFISH AND HELPFUL...BE THE CHANGE WE ALL WANT TO SEE IN THIS WORLD.
I don't think theres anything wrong with his comment, it looks like he is just giving a suggestion to Kelly.. and he don't mean any harm, we must try to understand, the comment before we make any remarks read his comment again, it is a light hearted comment. 👌✌he wanted Kelly to look pretty. 😍😍 and same with me.😍😍
This challenge is easy peasy, ladies - lighten up on the lipstick & you won’t look like you’re 80 years older than what you are. BTW- you may find the history of lipstick interesting.
It's only a comment on 👄 lipsticks, why 🤔 some 👿 people make a big fuss over it. 👄👄 stop preaching it is worst than his lipsticks comment, go to church.🙏
I know lots of women that make these. They don't go on TV to talk about it though... And now that that California is charging for thicker bags (that still aren't recycled 🙄), it would cost a fortune to do this and the bags homeless people used to stuff to make pillows, they have to pay for now. The government is stupid. They screwed up a really good thing for no reason.
I love how Kelly picks up those "down-to-earth" stories and make them flourish. Great work, Kelly!
Such a great story. Your mom is shining down on you.
Bless this woman.
Her smile is so radiant and beautiful!!
Guuurrrlll!!! How stinking amazing! What an amazing idea.
On this segment you should have a link to this person, her cause, locations to give these type of useful products.
The company I work for does this. Wonderful thing to do for the homeless.

Thats exciting
This is so wholesome (: definitely gonna try my hand at making one of these soon
My neighbor, Linda, has been doing that for a few years now! A good way for me to recycle my plastic bags!

Stories like these is what we need to be hearing about
Lovely idea. God bless her
What a beautiful work
I’m proud to be from the same state as her. Beautiful!
I think I'd be more proud of my state and affluent country if the horrendous wealth disparity didn't cause such high rates of homelessness in the first place.

There is a prison in
Ontario Oregon, where the inmates make these for a homeless shelter to give back to the community.

That’s a great idea! The plastic won’t absorb anything either.
What a lovely woman ❤️
I live in Crown Point Indiana, and I am going to contact this project, what a beautiful way to give back.
The lady spend so much time to make the mat to help people, for me I already given up.😴😴😴😴😴😴😴
This is so beautiful I am doing the same thing in Knoxville Tennessee
Cool!
My husband and I could use that queen sized mat. We are currently homeless and living in a tent at Grace Marketplace in Gainesville Florida. We are also both in wheelchairs.
I’m so sorry
Omg I love you so much. 💜💜💜
Do these even insulate in the winter though?
That plastic blanket mat looks like it would make your back sweat.
I crochet these mats with my fingers. Stores will donate a box or 2 of bags for the cause
👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍 Awesome.
I want to hear from a homeless person if these mats are any good.
lol@queen size mat
I just wonder how one doesn't get the teeth all red. I'd love to know that secret for any color lipstick.
A little petroleum jelly on the teeth.
Don't curl your lips lol I've never really had that problem
Too bad people are still choosing to make and use plastic instead of paper, which is much more environmentally friendly.
The plastic mats are waterproof so homeless can use them longer. The paper would just soak all the water and it would be a waste
I use them all up in my small trash cans and poopy diapers
Kudos for her efforts but these have been made for years nothing new
Eric Ostrowski Her initiative has gotten a lot of people involved, that's what matters.
@@Sarah-lj1fy again KUDOS but that initiative been around for years even the homeless knows how to make i should know i was one😳😂
Eric Ostrowski Well then kudos to you too I guess! ;)

I wish Kelly would lighten up her lipstick. Too red which makes a person look older. She would look so pretty with a lighter color.

Someone needs to remind Kelly not to talk so much again. She is regressing.

I'm just starting to make them with the new bags it's harder to do but we still forget the other bags so I figured might as well
