- Aviation Expert Geoffrey Thomas has labelled the flight that suffered extreme turbulence resulting in a death as “absolutely terrifying”.
A 73-year-old man died when a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore experienced extreme turbulence.
Many others have been taken to hospital, with seven critically injured.
“The exact cause we’re not sure of yet whether it's thunderstorm related,” Mr Thomas told Sky News Australia.
“More likely clear air turbulence which is either associated with jet stream activity or wind shear event where you have a violent change in wind direction.
“These things are very difficult to predict.”
Buckle up children.
We have been having severe solar flares from the sun for a few weeks which caused the recent auroras seen around the world so surely these could potentially affect the atmosphere at the heights these planes fly in.
Probably the make of Aircraft,Its renowned for it's Rollercoaster flights.
Yeah nah… no more airplanes for me after surviving an event like that. The PTSD those poor passengers will experience will be horrendous.
Its all good,
What this a Boeing plane?
Exsperts sky media
Unsure of the cause??? Or was it a crazy pilot???
SIA don't employ crazies.
@Design_no I think it is related to Boeing safety record.
Hopefully they won't kill me.
