I'd honestly recommend doing it on Drizzle if you have a hard time beating him on anything else just to unlock Captain, then just play around with him (on any other difficulty) to unlock his 2 other beacons and see which ones you prefer on Cap. Or use the Command artifact if you disdain playing drizzle. EDIT: I'd recommend 2 hacking beacons as shown in the video, so just play Cap and pray for Rallypoint and a TC 280, usually they're not worth it but to unlock the beacons, they are. It saves you a hellava lot of time, to the point that when I don't play Cap, I hope for Siren's Call just so I don't have to farm.
PracticalPotato i stacked shaped glass right before i went to the final boss, just kill him before he takes all your items, and if he does take your items, it’s not like he’ll one shot you harder, and he has less health.
@@penisboss5976 They're patching out the phase 4 oneshot. And mithrix's side swipe hammer in phase 1/3 and the flying Chimera's barrages can be near-impossible to dodge without a *ton* of mobility, so making them one-shot can actually be quite dangerous.

Another thing about the Mithrix fight on Captain in particular, for some odd reason the wave he shoots out when he lands counts as a projectile and can be destroyed by Defensive Microbots.
I posted an idea on RoR2 discord, there are many so it got faded away but you may find interesting Adding *Challenges* to alternative gamemodes. Something similar to _The Binding of Isaac Rebirth_ challenges. How does it work? simple, you must reach an objective (Mithrix, Obliteration, etc) but with a variety of preset items, artefacts, loadouts or rare conditions For example finish the game starting with 5 Old War Stealthkit and Trascendence, starting on sector 2 Or beating Final stage but having to choose 5 grey, 3 green and 1 red item only You can use your imagination and find a lot of fun combos to try

Will-o-the-wisp and gasoline and the fresh meat and tooth necklace are great with the Please Forgive Me voodoo doll to deal stacking damage effects and especially so with a few fusion cells
Quite the vid, Woolie. I would like to add two things: 1. Another way to get more items other than Bulwark's Ambry consistently for a semi-experienced player is to visit Ambry's deranged brother - Void Fields. Now I wholeheartedly agree that going there on stage 1 can feel almost too easy, but going there on stage 3 to salvage a sub-optimal loop can be challenging enough (oh lawd those 3xred whip 5x syringe golems) to feel fair and give you just enough edge w/o looping. Plus you can always bail out if it gets too hard on ya. 2. There is another place where scrap can be traded and is often more worth keeping for - soup cauldrons at Newt's shop, as well as Soup island on Commencement itself. Granted, you're not going to go there every stage nor are those items guaranteed to be good, but if you **really** want to solidify your stage 4 experience, try to pay the froge on stage 3 so you can get all benefits in a row: throw scrap in cauldrons if worth and then ensure Abyssal/go to Void Cell if you're confident. If all goes well, you get at least 1 red out of it. Hope this helps someone!

1:453:50 Important to note is that Captain's R beacons do 2000% damage each, so if you forgot to use them earlier in the stage you can still get value out of them on the teleporter boss fight.
Even after the patch you can still cheese Mithrix since it doesn't take your fuel cell charges if you are not regenerating them by the time he takes your fuel cells. That coupled with the Royal Capacitor allows you to unleash multiple charges of it on him after he becomes vulnerable. Also that was some terrible luck when he used that slam on you, while you still had the Dio's Friend.
I got the game 4 days ago, and today, I was able to go all the way to this location. Its a shame that I died to the second enemy here, and I didnt know how far I actually went in the game.
so shatterspleen also has a base 5% crit meaning it is possible to get either 96% or 106% crit. also in theory you can do a lot of damage with your items now before mithrix fully sucks them up which makes the fight easier. even if they nerf his 4th phase health he is going to be a bit more difficult given how you can't get a leg up on him as he steals and gets benefits from all of your items. and since survivors don't scale like mobs do (mobs scale exponentially while survivors scale linearly) you are essentially fighting a mob who can cheaply move and one shot you despite being around level 25 by the time you fight him (on one loop)
My issue with Mithrix is that it's such a shitshow that you can't completely master the fight compared to other bosses where you can more or less predict their moves, Mithrix just zips in and out of your screen with little care for his cooldowns or attack order.
