- (c) 2016 vintage synthesizer demo by RetroSound
supported by UVI: bit.ly/retrosound-uvi
The demo video shows some self-made and some factory sounds from the rare Tiracon 6V analog synthesizer from the year 1987.
The polyphonic Tiracon 6V is made in GDR. I saw this synthesizer first at the Leipziger autumn fair in 1987. It was the second synth made in GDR after the monophonic Vermona Synthesizer from 1982.
Made by VEB Automatisierungsanlagen Cottbus (1987)
6 voice polyphonic ( 6 voice cards)
8-bit prozessor U880 (Zilog Z80)
VCO: saw & square , combinied
VCF: 24 dB low-pass with resonance
3 LFO: VCO, VCF and pulsewidth
2 track sequencer
chord-memory

Straight strong sound! Really something else than a Juno! 'd'like to find one...
You're playing on an ironing board? haha, great demo.
+Dalek22comments yeah! :D
thanks :)
Wow... I stand and enlightened. I've never heard of this synth before
+Issie Wizzie yes this synth is rare.
Wicked! I love those sounds! Very soothing in a way. Good work!
+MrFricoco thank you! :)
fantastic morphing pad sounds in the beginning. lots of potential for pads for this machine! great vid as always.
+Entrophy thank you!
Awesome sounds! Love your videos!
Great on board effects! Nice vid!
+Stingray thanks

+soundadapter :))
Interesting Synth! Thanx for sharing!
+DearbornJohn thanks for watching! :)
Some of them sounds remind me of the music used in the game Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64. Nice demo!
+Paul Everett :)
thank you!
Thank you; much appreciated. Interesting to hear synths I'm not familiar with. Nice range of tone/timbres...from 'synth' to organ and bells...got some FM character too. Great recording as always. : -)
+Arthur Stone It´s a rare east-german analog synth from 1987 with unique sound. analog circuits but the range of the sound is width.
thank you! :)
Monsterous digital analog synth sounds!
+HardlineFeminists :))
+RetroSound
Indeed! You are retro synth master!
Sehr schickes Teil, der Sound kommt echt gut rüber.
ps
Noch schicker ist das Bügelbrett ;-)
+darthjack2000 Ja stimmt, aber das Bügelbrett klingt nicht so gut. :)
very good sounding machine man...Thanks
+reaz allykhan thanks for watching!
+RetroSound thank you
Was ein geiler Sound am Anfang. Richtig bissig.
First few seconds were like early Autechre around 1992! To be more specific, "Incunabula" track called 444! I'm very proud of you!!!
+Randomroutine haha
And I am glad that you like it. :)
+RetroSound And as huge techno-ambient fan, I highly recom to listen that track - 444!
Consider this!
Great Analog Synth With Nice Sounds Palette ...
Really Brings Different "Sounds Colors" From Others Very Well Known Synths... Definitely A Particular Sound Signature !
Keep Sharing These Awesome Sounding Moments ! ;- ) )
+synths colors thanks a lot :)))
... Thanks Again For Sharing These Rare Beauties ! ;- ) )

Great Marko :)
+John McGurrell thank you John! :)
Very nice sound :o) *****
+JTASHIPPHOTO thank you!
c"est cool ! ! !
That intro was so Carpenter-like. Awesome!
+AnalRectum thank you :)
very cool toy Sir
+j j a toy for adults :D
Always good videos, No offence, but I wish you'd have the camera pointing at the control panel so we could see what you are doing in a bit more detail.
+baward here can you see really nothing. no tweaking ;)
thank you
Thats fair enough! All I meant was that we could see the front panel a bit, rather than just the back panel and your hands! :-) But its your channel so you should do what you think is best. All the best for a great weekend, Ben
Best improvised keyboard stand ever!
Somehow every tone above d2 is slightly out of tune at my 6V and I didn't managed to fix it so far. :(
+kilésengati haha I love this stand :)
good luck for your 6V.
Out of tune is just like old analog synths, they do that and we still love em.
if you still need some help, PM me! hard to explain in a short way how to tune this synth. The problem are not the voice cards itself. It's a reference voltage problem. Had the same problem with mine after installing a new power supply.
Sounds great, what bands used it?
I have no idea. :D No one.
Thought you may be aware of some East German synth bands.
Is this the Synth John Carpenter used for "Escape from NY"? Sounds like the same... Thanks again for this epic moment! (Sorry for this stupid question, the movie was released in 1981; lol!)
+Jean-Jérôme “Jean-Jé” D it gives no stupid questions ;)
J.Carpenter used the Prophet-5 but the self-programmed sounds here reminds a bit on that. I love the music of John Carpenter.
+RetroSound Faster than light, as usual!!! Thanks for your answer mate, I love his music too since I was younger. Have a great day, see ya.
+Jean-Jérôme “Jean-Jé” D you too! thanks. :)
John plan a tour these year but unfortunately only in the US and one concert in Manchester UK
+RetroSound Wow, what a great news, I didn't know that, shame on me! UK is close to me (France) I'll try if its not sold out before...Merci!
Ohh, it's my first synthesizer. Bought it in 2001 for $200)
+Dmitriy Vasilyev this is very cheap.
From ebay?
Ho much was it?
+molekulaTV not from ebay ;)
no idea. maybe 500-600 Euro
+RetroSound I see. Somehow just appeared suddenly in your magnificent collection :)
Does this synth iron shirts too?
+MrArpSolina sure :)
I think it was being used to press some trousers in this video. Big old synths have multiple uses.
@4:50 it sounds like Zelda/Nintendo 👍
+mainmajo ;) haha yes
+RetroSound Many sounds in history are used very repetiv in japanese videogames. They burn it much deeper in my brain than aktual music. Take a look at r-type games from irem. i will never forget that analog tunes. Music is magic. Thank you so much for show all your beautiful gear.
+mainmajo yes indeed the early videogames used a lot of these sounds.
thanks for watching :)
Hat Dir deine Frau den Keyboardständer geklaut und Du hast dich gerächt? ;
+schmittwilli hehe das ist mein Keyboardständer. Mit Kabelführung, Steckdose und extrem standsicher. :)
