Ant that's why the Foo Fighter have my respect, covering the Fabulous Thunderbirds (with original guitar player Jimmie Vaughan and Gary Clark Jr.), C'mon, that's brilliant! Love unexpected asociations ! BTW, amazing play byChris Shiflett.
Love the Foo Fighters and am also a huge Jimmie Vaughan/Fab Thunderbirds fan so this is a real treat for me, actually clicked on the video before I knew Jimmie was playing, as I was intrigued that the Foo's were playing Tuff Enuff.
3 Guitars doing the same thing wasn't enough man, you need 5! Out of the joke, awesome cover foos :) Chris Shiflett is such an underrated guitarist! I love him!
Jimmy is simplistic like Clapton on his solos. But. The guy with the blue strat added the solo thst song needed. Not discounting thst all the guitar work was iconic ❤❤❤
oh Dave love me in the mornin' love me at noon and love me in the night and take me to the moon hahaha!!!! goodness gracious is right you said it haha!!!
Jimmy Vaughn had one of the choppiest picking styles I’ve ever heard, and plays a fairly cheap Mexican made Stratocaster; yet it works perfectly well for him!
Just stumbled across this great clip of some musical icons playing a great tune together, but what strikes me is that Dave Grohl is wearing a Hershey Track & Field T-shirt. I didn’t know I could love him more than I already do.
Great cover. I loved seeing Jimmy Vaughan and all three leads but I especially like to tone from the guitarist on the far left as it was a dead ringer for SRV's tone imo
Awesome - god for all the trouble YT causes a treasure like this cancels it all - call it positive reverse double negative rock/blues cancel culture :) - call Foo Fighters commercial - uh yeah cause they write great songs, and Dave is as bona fide of a real one if ever there was from Gen X. So cool to see Jimmie, and see this cover of one of my favorite radio songs from when I was like 9 (before I knew what blues was or bowed to the alter of Stevie). I had this on 45 and played it constantly on my "Dukes of Hazzard" record player - hey, sure looking back its a racially insensitive show but they were just some good ole boys and they were never meaning no harm, so they get a pass. What the hell tangent am I on...???Oh yeah this clip is SICK!
I thought that Chris, Gary, and Jimmie were all great ... but the claim that Chris Shiflett is the best among these guys might be disputed by Eric Clapton, who is probably the biggest JLV fan there is.
@@weekendpartier he also said Stevie played to beat everyone and if he got the better of Stevie, Stevie pulled out Albert King licks and beat a man to death with em. 🤣🤣🤣
Dave is the type of friend that over stay his welcome . Always is in the center of everything. Come on now , leave some room & space for some others or even better New Blood. It's always great to hear Jimmy though , I will say. ...
Great clip of Jimmy. The Vaughan brothers were amazing. That being said, I can’t see Dave Grohl in the same light now. I still like his music ( that won’t change ) but the “good guy” aura is tainted. Just being honest.
There’s something so righteous about seeing Pat Smear playing Tuff Enuff
Can’t believe Taylor is dead. I played with him a few times in a garage band in Laguna in the early 90s…RIP brother.
You can't believe he's dead? I can't believe he lived as long as he did. That guy had serious demons.
I love how this song has a lazy shuffle, but all the fills and solos give it a lot of energy! Rock on, Jimmie Vaughan! Foo Fighters: well done!
Gary Clarke right there - classic blues man in modern day
Meh.
How so?
Great to see Jimmie Vaughan. Long live SRV
I can see Stevie's face in Jimmie's.
@@mattman237Jimmy is 💪
This song rips and Jimmy Vaughan is a legend
constantly proving that less is sometimes more.

When I married my wife 21 years ago, this was our wedding song.
Lol😂
Now this is Jimmy Vaughn. And the Foo Fighters!!! ♥️💜❤️
The Fabulous Thunder Foos
:)
TX to Mr Dave Grohl.Having Jimmy Vaughn and Gary Clark Jr in a band ,it's a pleasure!
Love the Foo Fighters and am also a huge Jimmie Vaughan/Fab Thunderbirds fan so this is a real treat for me, actually clicked on the video before I knew Jimmie was playing, as I was intrigued that the Foo's were playing Tuff Enuff.

That blue stratocaster is awsome. Looks like original serie l.
So. many. guitars! I love how the Foo Fighters always have room for one more. Awesome jam! 🤘
Love it! Jimmie Vaughan, Gary Clark Jr....goodness gracious!
Shifty blew his guitar solo out of the water and into the stratosphere. Such a talented bloke.
Yeah, Chris was jammin', and Jimmie was so interested! 🎸🙌
Gary Clark with Jimmy Vaughn and Chris Shiftlett was greater😅😊
you've got to love pat...he always looks so damn happy playing live !!!
He's shit-grinning because he knows he's fooled them all.
3 Guitars doing the same thing wasn't enough man, you need 5!

Chris Shiflett is such an underrated guitarist! I love him!
In this particular case, he smoked 'em all.
+AtkaEve2 Word. Jaw on the floor.
+Bob Wilson I've always said that his guitar skills are amazing. He Needs to do more solos in the Foo FIghters Songs
Ain't no such thing as too many guitars!
Really underrated he can shred and ply the blues and rock n roll
This makes me smile. So good.
miss them A Town city limits... Old school homage... 😎
One of my favorite songs of the early 80's.... Oh those early teen years.
YES...a 1000 time yes
Shiflet has the perfect blues sound on that Strat.
Best thing I’ve heard Foo Fighters do!
❤ these guys!!❤️😍 Elise Kearns❤😊
I don't play bass but this bass line appeared in my head a few days ago from nowhere. It's iconic!
Chris Shiflett your tone was liquid, what a stratocaster is supposed to sound like.
Im thinking the same
That was a righteous jam right there
Some Guitar Kings. ♥️💜❤️🤘🏻
I had had jimmies signature fender strat i bought decades ago. Best feeling strat i ever played. Wish i never got rid of it
That was epic! That guitar jam at the end was incredible.
Great cover job. I loved it.
Chris Killin it as always
That was a bad ass cover, well done boys.
Jimmy is simplistic like Clapton on his solos. But. The guy with the blue strat added the solo thst song needed. Not discounting thst all the guitar work was iconic ❤❤❤
Foo's guitarist Chris Shiflett had a nice SRV tone.
I was learning this and rap it up for my band brought me here
Freaking awesome. U can not do Austin with out a Vaughn ❤❤❤❤
john mayer nails celebs while dave plays with all the best musicians, that's enuff said ;)
Dave "I Leave My Bone Everywhere" Grohl is a legend. 😂
Great to have that kinda clout to play with anyone. King Foo forgot some words in there but what the heck we's all havin fun.

Good cover, good effort! great song. jimbos my hero, respect!
Very nice job on this.

Dang Chris had some great tone and even better licks!
How can you not smile watching Taylor Hawkins play drums!!!
How true you are!!!!!! Taylor (RIP) was smoking hot with a smile on his face the whole time!!!!!! He was loving life!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!! 😎🍸
You mean, grinding that dude was high as fuck😂
Ya…Junkies always bring a smile to MY face.
He's the hardest working player up there!
Fantastic job!...sonic blue heaven
I hope the dude on keys has permission to wear MC colors on his vest. Guy can get in some seriously deep shit for that.
Awesome!!! 5 guitars! perfect sound! poor sound guy what a nightmare for him, but damn he's a badass.
The drummer just cracks me up....
whats the writing on his drum heads you suppose? Set list?
Wow! That was cool.
Excellent 😊
WOW !!!!
Hey, I was preparing to be disappointed. My preparation was for naught. Great cover!
Damn FF keep this Austin City Tbirds thing going
Never expected to see JLV sharing a stage with a Germ!
BADASS. TOUCH ENOUGH SAID.
Jimmie may not have the chops anymore, but he still got that touch
Never in my 50 years would i think id see this.. Lol
Very impressive.
oh Dave love me in the mornin' love me at noon and love me in the night and take me to the moon hahaha!!!! goodness gracious is right you said it haha!!!
do you see Taylor Hawkins awesomeness in the back, incredible RIP!!!
Did I miss it? When are they gonna food fight???

Jep!😎💌 T&M
It's funny how the "rock" guy had the best blues solo on the stage. You can tell he cut his teeth on this stuff when he was younger.
I kept on seeing the original video....
Who’s the guy with the blue guitar! He was the best of all 3!
Just stumbled across this great clip of some musical icons playing a great tune together, but what strikes me is that Dave Grohl is wearing a Hershey Track & Field T-shirt. I didn’t know I could love him more than I already do.

Chris Shiflett...Best guitar player on the stage.
Max Rockatansky the dude playing the blue strat is the best lol

Totally agree. Clapton rocks. ♥️💜❤️
Clapton included Jimmie Vaughn in his pantheon of greatest guitar players in the world along with SRV, Buddy Guy, and Robert Cray.
Yea...but ge wasn't there at this jam...
And who's there..is all that counts..😉🙃🙂
Very true. The Tbirds were Clapton's favorite band in the 70s.
@@xenoscootAlso Hubert Sumlin and Clapton got his tone from Freddie King.
