    The Lodge Card Club is a members-only social club in Round Rock, Texas (just north of Austin). With 24/7 cash games and 2+ tournaments per day, The Lodge is THE place to play poker in central Texas. The Lodge Live is streamed every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 3PM CT.
    You never know what you might see on The Lodge Live stream. You might see Pocket Aces vs Pocket Kings. You may see the nut straight lose to a full house after the board pairs on the river. There's a good chance you will see loads of straddles (and double straddles, and triple straddles). Players go all-in blind or play poker hands after looking at just one card. That's just what poker is like in Texas!
    The stream regularly features Lodge owners Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Doug Polk. Players like Rampage, Mariano, and Igor Kurganov has also graced The Lodge Live felt. And who knows? One day The Lodge may even host players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, or similarly huge poker names.

      A person that plays poker every day for up to 12 hours a day is a poker player imo, being a poker player is not determined by skill, he's only known for playing poker and he plays a lot of it so he's a poker player.

    Nik makes a whole lot of hero calls. Most of the time, incorrectly.
    The bet truly didn't make sense though. It's a pretty dry board. If he flopped a set or two pair, he's going to extract value with a more reasonable bet. The only real problem is that he can be bluffing you with a small pair and already have you beat.

    • @alistairwillock7266
      @alistairwillock7266 5 місяців тому +1

      In a vacuum, you're correct. But Alex and British Bulldog in particular are aggro enough that they get to make moves like this, particularly with the nit game dynamics in play, because you have to call those two maniacs at a higher frequency than you do with any sane poker player.

    That shove was way too polar. No sets, two pair or good king plays the hand that way, so Nik figured even if he's behind he probably still has some equity that can be realized. Great call

    • @the40yearoldgamer41
      @the40yearoldgamer41 5 місяців тому

      A king can certainly play it that way considering the nit game is in effect. Why check call KQ and give your opponent a free draw at 2 or 3 outs? One mistake that I see from younger folks is they try to sandbag 1 pair too often... good players are going to realize free equity against 1 pair. But of course a lot of players are going to bluff off 3 bullets that can't beat a check calling top pair too so go figure eh?
