So many are terrified of offend people with the reality that without Christ's death and having the wrath of God poured upon him saved us from that fate. Our God is a God of love, grace, and mercy, but so many tend to forget that he is also a jealous God who will judge those who deny His son one day. YES! You sang the 2nd chorus. I've heard many other covers by famous Christian artists and they always seem to gloss over that chorus. Maybe coz it mentions "wrath of God". But to me the 3rd verse/chorus isn't as powerful without it

Those who reject the free gift of salvation, see John 3:16 above, "perish", which means their sins are judged by God the Son and they suffer eternal separation from God and the family of God forever called the "second death".
