  • Tom teaches how to setup a game of Cubitos but makes two mistakes along the way... Because of how this video turned out (contrasted with my redo video) I decided to keep this video posted for anyone interested in seeing it....
The two main mistakes I made are: (1) I started each player with 3 dark gray dice instead of two. (2) I totally neglected to check how far behind each player was from the leader when doing the draw phase....

I watched all the Cubitos videos & I love that you can tell that you are having a good time while you are were making them. It shows in your voice and attitude.
And maybe you should include some face time in more of your videos. At least at the beginnings and ends. It helps to personalize them and helps build a channel identity. Your channel is named after you & it helps to think of you as something more than just a set of disembodied hands. But your videos have always worked for me in the past, so maybe don't fix what isn't broken....?

I’ll definitely keep that in mind! I genuinely do not like being on camera ever (my poor mom tried so hard to get pictures of me, and I’m always such a butt head about it....)
And seriously, this game is FUN! I cannot wait to actually play it with other people.

While ten card starting decks are common in deck-builders, the Quacks of Quedlinburg (an obvious potential source for the cards determining die effects) starts with 9 chips - 7 white and 2 coloured - which seems an obvious parallel to starting with 7 grey and 2 black dice here.

Great point. I just never think of quacks as “9 chips” (which it totally is, as you pointed out). I always thought of it was 4 white ones, 2 white twos, and 1 white three....” but yeah! Great catch.

Wait, you aren’t going to explain the golf balls behind you!?

😂 I mean, so many things happening there....
I live in the place my grandparents built up before they died. That was my grandpas golf-ball collection that he proudly displayed on the wall. When the neighbors found out I was living there now, they’d always ask, “is the golf ball wall still there?!?”

@@TomTeachesGames that's a great story! Definitely never get rid of that wall!

Oh, it is there for good! Even when I didn’t have heat for the first 5 years living here, and randomly a golf ball would “explode” out of nowhere.....
      Those were some good times.
