I agree...I have a problem with whoever designed the lights to be installed this way. SUPER frustrating. I got them both replaced. Not sure what is going on, but one went out within 30 minutes. I wiggled it and it came back on. Whew! But then in another 30 minutes, AFTER I put the trim back on, both went out. Fortunately I bought 6 of them. Crossing my fingers that doing it again will work. It is ridiculously difficult to install these!
That white plug isn't a dummy plug. It controls the recycled air. For instance, if you turn your defrost on while your recycled air button is engaged, it will turn off the recycled air.
Thanks for the video, I thought there was an easier to way to change the bulbs, but this video just confirms it!

Question, when you replace the bulbs from the back is there wires connected to each bulb or they just twist in
Twist in

It is a very difficult position to try to work in! Good thing I'm stubborn.
I gave up, couldn't get it to lock in place. No good position to get a screwdriver in.
I managed to release the white panel which holds the bulbs. Here's an add-on video ua-cam.com/video/eJQZx04jRY4/v-deo.html&feature=shared

Thanks. I was not aware of that. I've made the change.
