I don’t collect coins but I’m fascinated with your content. It helps with my adhd and find I watch your videos all the way through, which is rare for me. Thanks and keep up the great videos 😊
Interesting stuff regarding value of coins. Would say all commemorative coins sell over face value on Ebay , mainly cos anyone who needs them for their collection won't mind paying that little bit extra to get one. I find FB selling groups are better judge on prices. I.e only one of the Shakespeares is only above FV now (comedies) , they are so readily available and have high mintages, as you found in the last £2 book. The full set of 3 can easily be picked up for about £7. But people have different views on prices , no value is set in stone
Love your videos Christopher, my daughter (8) and I have be come avid coin collectors thanks to you. Keep up the good work and thank you from both of us 🪙
I do like the Darwin design and they don't seem to appear that often I would probably keep them over the Shakespeare coins but of course being Christopher "Hoards" we know you have problems not long until the Ironside count 🙂
That's a retained cud, and they're just as sought after as regular cuds because they show the inception of the broken die. In this case, it was just about to break away. And it's a pretty sizeable one. Easily the coin most above face value in this video at £15-£20 but it perhaps could have more value to people who have full-on cuds in the same area. It baffles me why you don't find them more interesting.
I am not heavily invested in coin collecting but I do keep the commemorative ones when I find them in my spare change...I have been watching your hunts and I noticed that you never found one of the coins I have, its A 2020 Victory in Europe £2 NIFC coin, I know that its not a massive find but I was not even on a hunt it was just in my spare change ...what are the odds?
would love to see christopher commenting on some sport program , colemanballs all over. Shows coin with Charles Darwin (and friend) on it- This is Charles Darwin. Shows coin with skull on it - This is William Shakespeare ( so literal !?)
Hello Idk how but I missed this video. Question About Stike Youre Owns: At the time of writeing this the Edward Jenner 2 pound is the strike youre own, as it is now the 8th of jan not the 7th is the Edward Jenner £2 still the stike youre own if i go down to the mint or not? (skip to last if you to since this on isnt so importand) 2nd to last question (sorry for all the questions if you read this.) where do you look to find what the strike dates or the strike youre owns are? Because i have look alot and I can NOT find them at all. Last question do the autisum friendly tours do stike youre own? if not what tours do?
Slightly off topic I guess but maybe you could help me. Rooting through an old box I’ve found two 1986 commonwealth games £2 coins but they are all gold coloured rather than 2 tone. Ever heard of these??

I can only image the amount of times I held a double die and just spent it giving it no time. My mistake. Stays safe
great bottom row of keepers 1 for the book and 2 odd ones great hunt i would say
the price of the darwin coins must be going through an evolution, unless being bought by folk in northern australia

Where do you get the book from that holds the coins you collect ?
I've never managed to find a double die yet and I've checked loads, my time will come,!!!
