I appreciate it.
When I went to SP I walked this avenue. SP is so big that it was overwhelming to do in only 2 days. It’s a combo of LA and NY combined on steroids.
I can see that... It's massive
I was there at that Art Museum , at the 1st Bi-annale ever held in Sao Paulo 1973 . the population has since tripled . currently listed as over 22 million people . hard to comprehend . it was rare then to see people overweight . Panda express and Mac Donald`s and an expanded Middle Class has contributed to the rise in Obesity . Brazilians are warm and spontaneous . thanks for sharing this .
Thanks...was wondering that...
Interesting insight... I'm sure SP back in the day was totally different than it is now.
Thank you for that bit of history on Sao Paulo. What was the night life scene like back then?
@@kingtau Night Clubs were more like a Vegas show with a live band . you order a bottle on ice , not a drink , a waiter in a white Tux attended your table and refilled your glass for you . like how i imagine the 'Super Clubs' of 1920`s might`ve been . very upscale , not really my style . then they also had dances where you just Samba to infectious Music .
@@TimMaloneyNMactor wow, must of been a great experience! I was just born the year before. I saw some pictures of Arnold Schwarzenagger in Brazil 🇧🇷 back in the 70s doing some hanky panky!
Avenida Paulista is the place to be on Sunday’s. Plenty of food & fun. 🇧🇷
Oh yeah 👌🏿
The city has cultural, economic and political influence nationally and internationally. It is home to monuments, parks and museums such as the Latin American Memorial, the Ibirapuera Park, Museum of Ipiranga, São Paulo Museum of Art, and the Museum of the Portuguese Language.
The Music isn't Zumba, is Samba from Bahia.
Like Paulista Avenue we have in São Paulo, Faria Lima, and Nações Unidas Av.
I know.. I was saying it reminded me of the zumba classes I took in Colombia with people dancing outside.
A complete party going on, also seems very liberal city, greetings from Mexico.
Nice views along Avenida Paulista. I had sugar juice/w lime a few days ago while in Los Santos, Panama a few days ago. Very sweet, very refreshing. I must check out Rio de Janeiro. Thanks for sharing. 🙏
Abñnyrime and yes, Rio is the place to be right now with Carnaval coming up
That particular Mcdonald's is fancy only because it's a flagship store. It's the 1000th store opened in Brazil. Otherwise, even though it's definately not the cheapest food it's still just fast food in Brazil as well.
Loved your depiction of Avenida Paulista.
Could you please tell me the name of the singer at 10:20 minutes ?
Pastel + caldo de cana 🤤
😳 What no shrimps!!! It's just not complete until we see Sly break down a shrimp dinner lol!!!
The acaí was good enough for me👌🏿
Lol, I don’t know how they do things in Seattle, but a $12 McDonalds meal ANYWHERE is expensive😄 (a single meal usually goes for $5-$8 in “normal” times). That McDs reminds me of the one off Times Square, New York.
You must be talking about happy meals lol... Or maybe when I order McDonald's I go in..
@@slyslife I live in Virginia, but $8 seems to be around the current average for fast food right now with pandemic/supply-chain issues, but I ain’t never paid no $12 dollars just for myself😄
The 12 dollar meal here in brazil is 110 reais, the minimum wage is 1100 a month, so the 12 dolar meal is 10% of your monthly salary, a lot more than the in the us.
Great work. Wish you could've interviewed that "thing" in the long dress towards the end haha. Plan to hit up Sao Paulo's lounges, rooftops or nightclubs?
Thanks and not this trip. I was more recuperating here after my time in Rio.
yeah man, that street food definitely brought back memories. the Pastel would have been my main meal if I was there, LOL, I would eat a whole bunch of them.
I don't blame you.. They look delicious
Great
Hi Sly. I enjoy your channel. I am thinking about doing Colombia for six months and the other six months in another LA country. What would be your city/country choice to spend the other six months?
What camera do you use the quality is amazing to watch
Nirvana and Queen in 07:53 😍✨🤘
loving the content. keep it coming.. ps, It's "São Paulo"
Thanks for the correction
Almost all McDonald’s I have been to abroad in Asia, Latin America, etc are luxury. Very nice places to sit down, clean, etc.
Yea.. Taking a date to McDonald's overseas is acceptable
@@slyslife 😂
@@slyslife It is only acceptable in Brazil if you are under 18 years old.
I'm 35, born and raised in São Paulo... I work in Paulista Avenue but I've never gone to MASP...
Damn I guess this was one of Yusef's last videos before he transitioned 😔
Belíssimo vídeo
Obrigado 🙏🏿

Whoa… so you just ignore those mini cyclist at 00:22 ??? Lol
Being in Brazil and then…going to McDonalds.
Sao Paulo* or better yet, São Paulo
Thanks for the correction
Rainbow flags all over the place 🙄
Sao Paulo has a large LGBT+ population

ONLY in the Av. Paulista area, Frei Caneca, Bela Vista. Not so much in the hoods of: Bras, Osasco or Heliopolis or any other place outside of bougie trendy areas.
