- Hello and welcome back to Scout Report, where today we’re heading to Leicester to run the rule over Brendan Rodgers’ exciting side. After winning a title 4 years ago, the Foxes slid into mid-table mediocrity, finishing 12th and then 9th twice in the last 3 campaigns, but the arrival of Brendan Rodgers and a host of young stars has the club flying again, with Champions League football not only possible but probable when the league was suspended.
Here at FD we’re big fans of this new-look Leicester, and so today we’re finding out just how the club has changed since their 2016 triumph, and what they should do next to establish themselves as regulars at Europe’s top table - and maybe bring a second title to the Midlands.

Inaki Williams from athletic Bilbao could be a good replacement for vardy upfront and he can play on either flanks
He signed a 9 year deal with a 135 million euro release clause only last year. Great suggestion but can’t see him leaving any time soon

obviously this would be very hard to do, but timo werner would be an extremely good replacement in my opinion, hes got the pace and finishing ability that vardy brings. To me would be a good fit, but it would be hard to beat liverpool and chelsea to get his signature

For me the best Vardy repalcements would be Victor Osimen, Odsen Eduoard, Emmanuel Bonaventure aka Dennis or maybe a gamble on someone like Ollie Watkins

Claude Puel did an ok job but he wasn’t enthusiastic or passionate. It was just another job. His style of football is boring and not entertaining to watch. He would have let us to mid table mediocrity. We want more. Brendan’s at the wheel!

Well did they tho.. I feel like there team has great younger players.. but not a better team .. the Leicester that won the 2016 title was more of a 'team' .. I feel like this team has better individuals
well... understandably, the Leicester title winning squad has been playing (mostly) together through the championship. They have build up the chemistry together over the years.
@@HenSt-gz7qj yeah that team was built from the ground up by nigel pearson when he took over in 2011/12. the current one is still fairly new and raw.

celtics french striker would be direct replecment for vardy as he has pace and the strenght as well as being young and from celtic which brenden has connections.

ok so they're "supposed" to have conceded more goals according to XG, but they didn't. how does that make it "luck"? if you're not conceding goals, you're not conceding goals. drop the XG nonsense - football is all about anomaly and surprise; XG says they should have scored more, but that's cold statistics. through good goalkeeping and defending, they haven't... bizarre way to look at football.

It is very very rare to consistently outperform Xg so it can be a better predictor of future success than true goals.
Yes maybe their Xg in itself is worthless, but comparing it to goals scored can be very useful to predict the future.
Although I agree it doesn’t fit in this case,and calling them lucky is probably disrespect. XG is a valuable stat
Maddison and Ndidi are obviously inferior to Mahrez and Kanté though. The overall squad is better with massive upgrades like Ricardo and Tielemanns for Simpson and Drinkwater but I’d still back the 15-16 team to win.
David Castaneta in a one of game the 15-16 team would win because they were just machines but this team is younger and has more potential rather than having one good season

The current team will have to win the league to prove that they have surpassed their title-winning side.
But I do have to admit that their current squad is more solid that the side years ago.

We need a player that is going to be good back up to Vardy for the next 3 years but also in 3 years be good enough to be a starting player. That’s going to be hard to do. And as much as I love Iheanacho he’s not going to be world class one day

Imo they should try getting Kevin Volland , coz he can play out wide and centrally , he's a proven goal scorer and can give Vardy some breathing space , they can also go for Yussuf Poulsen , although he's not that much of a threat but has a very good understanding of the game and is a very good team player .
If they loose chilwell , they should go for the ajax Argentine lb

@@FormerPessitheRobberfan that was the year that Tottenham were supposed to win the league but they chocked when all the other contenders had horrible seasons. I was glad that Leicester won the league and i dont think we will see something like that for a long time
