About WoFi: Having a sample library SERVER with multiple CLIENTS is definitely helpful, because it can be a huge amount of data (TB range). I'm using a NAS for this, and I will NOT pay for cloud access. So what we actually need are samplers with NAS access (SMB/NFS). QOTW: Wave Alchemy Triaz. I'm currently using the demo, and like it.
"...organic-sounding grooves." Irony just slapped me back into my chair pretty hard. 🤣 Really interested in the 80s plugin, but I'll have to wait for a sale. Always look forward to the Saturday roundups, and I greatly appreciate you keeping us all up to date!
Anthony Marinelli has a fantastic UA-cam channel (Anthony Marinelli Music) where he discusses and recreates the synth sounds from Thriller and other albums he worked on. This is an interesting plugin from him, but rather expensive, even at a discount.
Hello! I just recently discovered your channel, and I will say I absolutely love it. You do an amazing job at the reviews, they have been super helpful. I want to start getting into music production and midi. I am learning how to use cakewalk by band lab and am using a windows laptop(in case those details matter for my next question) what would you suggest for for budget/beginner hardware that I could start with: headphones, midi controllers(I have been looking at the Arturia mini lab 3), audio interfaces. I have no idea what I’m doing but I would like some suggestions to help with looking for budget but decent stuff to begin learning with. Thank you for taking your time to read this and giving suggestions!
I got Snapback, super cool tool. Tapewave, is just another tape plugin pretty much. But I love em. Mine is bugged (confirmed) with FL though to be warned FL users, currently it mono's your input signal.
Komplete has so many sounds and presets... Il probably never hear 75% for the rest of my life :/ It is a bit steep entry point... But in the long run it's actually crazy value...
Oh my lord, I was hoping that it wasn't iconic that was so overpriced... but wow. I'd think about it for $75... but at $199 they're out of their minds. Especially when you factor in how many aren't actually iconic 80s sounds.
Cloud connectivity features in any technology has been the future for a long time now. It’s also the first time I heard someone say that 580+ presets is not enough. 😮
WiFi connectivity yes, but cloud connectivity for a new company is not a safe bet IMO. Sure I subscribe to Roland Cloud, but I don't think Roland is going away anytime soon. I can connect my MPC II Live to my WiFi and get updates or load samples from networked drive. Some other companies are in danger of going under at the moment.
Thabks for the video. I used neutron but ended up going back to plugin alliance and ik multimedia plugin. Just feel more natural for me. But I have to say, neutron 5 "intelligent" mixing looks really better than before. I always found the intelligent algorithm not that good. Have a good day.
There‘s so many new gear, but I am not interested in the one at the beginning of this video. At the moment I think I‘ve got everything for my needs and don‘t want to spend any money on new gear. Nevertheless I‘m always watching Sanjay‘s videos, even if I can‘t afford new gear … Thanks for this one! 💪🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
QOTW: For the plugins of 2024, I liked Aberrant DSP's Lair, BABY Audio's Transit 2 ... and there's probably a few others I forgot ;). There is, of course, all the stuff that Cherry Audio put out and Universal Audio making more of their stuff available natively =]
They already release the Orba 3? I mean, I still have the first one that I barely use because it felt so limited and I still keep a distance from Artiphon. I don't think the input works well due to a lack of good haptic feedback. The only good thing about Orba is the size and shape.
I fully agree. Have had Orba 1 for years and have used it for maybe 5 hours in total since then. Sound and haptics leave a lot to be desired. The thing is very limited, the software is a horror. I've used it a few times as a midi input (MPE?). That's it.
Hello SanJay great work if your coming out with a new monitor segment include the adams Audio D3V 3.5-inch Powered Studio Monitor 299 Pair. bang for the buck super low end, high spl for there size.. truly apperciate all the work you do...
@@SanjayC Wow Sanjay thanks for the reply! big fan of the channel! it's my audio news source. Well yeah if you look into the used market etc. I mean, if you can spend 800$ it's not that far off if you can save some, and this is not a device that you NEED NOW....if you can save 800$ for this u can save up some more for the OP1
This is where synth makers and studio software companies want to go. Roland has been steadily moving there. Like so many other things today, you won't own anything for the sake of convenience. In the next 10 years most synths will be WIFI with most preset banks being sold by subscription delivered through the cloud to the device. Therefore, synths will be simple controllers that will not function without a subscription. The subscription will turn on the MIDI capabilities and allow you to download firmware and purchase presets. All these synths will have offline modes for performers. This is want they want anyway.
The cloud connectivity of the WoFi is suspect. What happens if the company goes out of business and stops maintaining the cloud connectivity features? Also, the device has almost no memory and uses a silly cartridge instead of something like a simple SD or microSD card for external storage. Espen Kraft, elder statesman of early sampling and 80s synth sounds, is a fan of the low memory. Personally, I would rather have flexibility of more internal storage and modern external storage. So I didn't back the Kickstarter and I will not buy the WoFi. There are other options in hardware and software that interest me much more.

Hoping Darti can be in on the Black Friday video, too. Watching the two of you interact is always a lot of fun.

Will be getting Iconic. Good stuff.
cool video as always!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sanjay Saturday! 🎉 Looking forward to Black Friday deals
Hey buddy...yes...coming with some good stuff again this year!
Wo-Fi is cool looking. EastWest plugin is a bit overpriced for what it is, but next year
when it's half off I can justify trying it.

Yeah, cloud connected hardware synth, definitely what we needed.

$199 for 500 presets is $100 too much

We ain’t looking for presets. We’re looking for FREEsets. 🤣

@@niagaravdub In fact came out at $299 and i guess the sells was so low that after a week is already $199 and still overpriced...
Great video. I am looking forward to your Black Friday videos. Thank you, Sanjay C.
Aren't there quite a few of those iconic synth presets hidden in the vast Arturia V collection?
Exactly, which is why I don't need Iconic since I already have V Collection
Truthfully, the older plug-in collections are all you need if you don't have older hardware. The sound hasn't evolved since the 80s-90s..@@Jake_Sachs

That Iconic plugin is very interesting especially as I was lucky to see MJ live decades go. Btw Happy Diwali Sanjay and Dharti

Neutron is good but i prefer plugin alliance
Can it loop ? Does it have any tracks for layering ?

❤ pretty decent 👌
i feel the "send sounds to others" might interfere with sound packs, as they could secretly send each other paid samples. UNless I'm wrong.
I love music!
I want to make music!
The tech is confusing!!
I cannot make music!!
ANGRY!!!!!!
This keyboard reminds me of those Casio cheap keyboard toys 😂
I purchased Current 2 for $84.15 😁
Kick ninja its a new vst too
Akai are you paying attention..??😮
if you can drop 800$ for that, you can spend a bit more to get TE OP1, and it's much smaller.
A bit more? :-) Love the OP-1 though. Its great.
