I remember my ‘89 Supercharged Toyota MR2 used to kill this thing at the “ stop light drags”,,,, hey I was a younger( stupider) man back then! Lol Still have my MR2,,,, worth a little bit of $$ now and going higher by the year,,,,Where’s that NX now? Haven’t see one in years!!

@@phinds1 Holy man. I used to love these back in the day. I know prior to Covid.. There was or is a MR2 club in Ontario that had meets.
USA version had a driver airbag.
You’re right - the USA, Japan built NX sure did have a driver airbag. My 1991 Sentra SE-R however, does not… but it was offered as an option that year and I think the same is true with the NX? Or did they all have airbags like the G20?
There are some build quality differences between the USA-built Sentra and Japan-built NX’s, but the most immediate one I always think of are the doors. The Sentra’s are large, saggy, rattling and clumsy while the NX’s are tight and crisp. Regardless, they’re both the best vehicles for me.
@@buddhull According to Wikipedia, a driver's airbag was made standard on the Sentra GXE and optional on the rest of the range for 1993. Looking at interior pictures, it looks like the G20 didn’t have airbags until the 1994 model year, and had automatic shoulder belts instead on the 91-93 models. I remember MotorWeek criticizing that. I believe a driver airbag was standard on the 91 NX.
@@carexpertandy thanks. My 91 SE-R has a fuse slot for an airbag, but my wheel doesn’t hold one. My 92 NX has both the fuse slot filled and the SRS airbag emblem. I also don’t have automatic seatbelts in the Sentra or a leather shift boot. I think the first 1991 models (built in 1990, probably obviously) shared a little more in common with the base model Sentra until the GXE/timeframe you mentioned. It’s odd.
@@carexpertandy also, I could’ve sworn G20s had standard airbags, but if you looked it up I believe you. That’s wild to me, but I can’t say I’m surprised.
