Really good video - thanks for sharing. I did a bit of exploring for gold at Warrandyte some 35 years ago with no success. I also remember going through the Pound Bend tunnel when the water was really high in a canoe - bad mistake ..lol. You did teach me some history I was not aware of ...thanks for that. :)
Haha I bet it was indeed a mistake. When the water levels get high that tunnel turns into a beast. But yeah intersting place but as you say theres not a lot of gold left. Still a good day out. Anyways thanks 👍
Awesome vid on Warrandyte mate. I started out there too years ago and still enjoy an arvo there occasionally. End of the vid there you show some of my workings.. :)
great video as a new prospector still trying to learn how to pan .i will go to this location and give it a go .thanks for the great effort and history .really enjoyed watching thanks for the video its excellent.
Onya mate.. In the mid 1970's when suction dredging arrived in OZ my brother and myself did a little work in Anderson's Creek, Warrandyte >> Dredging wasn't so much of an issue back then ;-) .. Great fun and we had some reasonable results.. Like you say its a great spot to visit to do a little panning.. Cheers
Very well done vid mate. Love it. If you haven't already, you should check out Yankee Jim's mines up near Upper Yarra Dam. See if you can find them all! Cool little Creek there too.
Nice i got my first gold at Anderson's creek too, if you want a tip on another spot where you can always pull gold that is close to Warrandyte 1 word - gorge
Yeah true I love getting out in the winter that's where not many get out as it's to gold lol hey most appropriate if come on over and subscribe to my UA-cam channel and I will do hit you up in summer love ya work
Last time I was at Andersons Creek there was rubbish everywhere, the funniest part was the sign I saw further along that said (Clean Waterways Victoria).....
Great video fella!
Thanks for sharing the history of Warrandyt gold great job
I found a couple $2 coins in Anderson creek from 1982 , that means not too many others looking, i need to dig deeper

Haha the irony must have reached a critical limit because it wasn't that bad (for where it is in the middle of suburbia) when I was there.
AUST $ 3,200 per ounce = good luck anybody !
I've seen over 2oz of gold come out of warrandyte... my biggest bit is 2.5g
Was that in the creek? that’s a ripper
