The common ppl do not know what royals look like as they are never with the common folk. Ppl of noble birth know because of tourneys, weddings, funerals that only nobles are invited to. That is why Ser Harwin immediately recognized Rhaenyra. If you’re a commoner and have seen a royal/noble, you either are hosting them at your inn/keep or lucky enough to be a squire or be a ward or invited to an event.

Daemon's biggest issue with Viserys, other than his seeing him as weak, is exactly that, he wants his brother validation and that he relied more on him other than the people he can't trust to put the Targs first and Daemon is all for the Targs and their heritage. He always got along with Rhaenyra, she has 'the blood of the dragon', like Daemon they are a bit, how to say, chaotic. Targs gonna Targ. LMAO Otto was telling a partial truth but yeah, he has his own agenda.
Never saw Daemon as the bad guy ever, hes just blunt and attention seeking from Visery. The greens mainly Otto atm are the antagonists. Daemon has always been nice and caring with Rhaenyra. They're very open and free together.

George talks about characters being ‘grey’ as opposed to black or white. The show didn’t go into it because they couldn’t be bothered but both Jon & Sam certainly have grey areas more so in the books. I mean Sam rigged the election for Christ sake😂

I feel like there is a bigggg difference (right now in the show) between Dany and Jon's situation and Daemon and Rhaenyra's. Daemon is much older than Rhaenyra and there is a power/grooming aspect at play a bit here (while also acknowledging that, yes, she did of course seem like a willing participant in this episode). Dany and Jon were the same age and like you said, didn't know about their family ties when they first got together (and I still made some comments about it being weird once we knew she was his aunt lol) I know its a "normal" thing in this show and that the Targ family to keep it in the family like this and I'm going to get over it, but it just still skeeves me out right now lol 😫😂 I appreciate your comments as always Mark! 😊
Yes, interesting episode. I am glad you are enjoying the ride Emmy! It is all about Perception in King's Landing and Daemon knows how to play this game very well.
