I’m so happy you and Mari had a great time during her visit! Your Lyra dress is going to be stunning in that fabric. And I think a co-ord set with the rayon would be gorgeous! Xx 💞
I know! That NY City Night fabric is so cool. I have some left. Need to measure it. I did a little fussy cutting. Even if it lines a jacket or bag it is worth keeping. Mari and family were a lot of fun.
Hi Christine. Ooo such lovely fabric! That Byzantium fabric is amazing. Have you tried the Orchard Dress by Helen's Closet (a free pattern)? It's one of my favorite makes this year. I made it out of quilting cotton and made it longer. I can wear it over a shirt or knit top like a jumper or I can wear it as a sun dress. It would look beautiful in a rayon... a different and softer look than the quilting cotton I used or the linen in the sample photos. The stiffer fabrics stand out from the body (which is great for the heat). But the drapey fabric would look beautiful as you walk or when the breeze blows by. Congrats on the de-stash. How wonderful to have help with that, Antonia
I have looked at the Orchard. I don’t think it is for me. I need wider straps so I can wear a regular bra and on me I like for a dress to either skim or nip in at the waist. I bet the Orchard would be very comfortable in linen. It is a free pattern which is fantastic. I think I needed Mari more for the pattern destash. There were a couple I held up and was on the fence about that she snatched out of my hands and put in the destash bin declaring them frumpy. Sometimes we need a little help and I feel like I am learning more about what I like to wear.
@@ChristineSewsALot Hi Christine. Oh my, frumpy is definitely a loaded word. For what it's worth, no way would I call your style frumpy. I'd be more likely to say polished and refined. I hear you on bra straps. Next I want to substitute a top portion like the Ora Pinafore (by Soften Studio) to replace the spaghetti straps of the Orchard. I didn't think the shape of the dress would be good for me, but ended up really liking it, Antonia
I rather like your idea of a pants (or skirt) set.... maybe it's the combination of color and print that maybe looks a little more casual. It is a beautiful print! The Reeta is fresh in my mind, of course, and it's more of a casual summer dress. Have a great 4th! 😁
Having friends help make decisions is the best. One of mine volunteered to help me go through my “random junk pile” a few moves ago and it was so much easier. Plus it looks like such a fun visit!
We did have a great time. It went so much faster because as we went through it we organized it. Two of us made it faster. Charlie even has his own bin of fabric.

We did have a great time! I am leaning towards a coord set.
I am so glad you and Mari had a great time! Can't wait to see you both sometime in the relatively near future - xoxoxox
We had the best time. When we were going through fabric she would say - that is Carmen, this is definitely Michelle, that looks like Jen ….
Ooo the challis is so nice for warm weather wear. A kimono jacket and flowy pants would look great.
Had not thought of a Kimono style jacket. I do need to work out pants fitting. Some day those flowy pants will be in the cards for me.
Oooh! I love the fabric you are using for the Lyra! SO fun! I'm so jealous of your visit with Mari - I'm so glad you both had such a great time 💕

Thanks! It will definitely not be the Lyra. That pattern needs some fitting help.
@@ChristineSewsALot It will be fun seeing what that fabulous fabric turns into! 😘
