I thought I had an encyclopedic knowledge of SNES games until I started watching SNESdrunk. I’m constantly amazed that there are still things I’ve never heard of.
Wait what you never heard of this cartoon? It has such a great theme song in the opening intro of the cartoon probably the best of all 90s cartoons my opinion of course
Hahaha, great review man! This was one of the games that I gave up trying to play pretty early on into it. By the looks of it, I made the right choice!
I’d never heard of this game and thought I was going to have one of those new old game discovery golden moments. You crushed my dreams with honesty at about the minute mark. Fortunately the good people of the comments section lead me to the cartoon’s theme song. It was worth it.
I'm surprised that no one else in this comments section pointed this out before me, however this game is also both remarkable and notorious for the sheer amount of unused and player-invisible content present in its ROM: tcrf.net/King_Arthur_%26_the_Knights_of_Justice
Bro why are u hating. The cartoon was bad ass. Every episode had some type of message. They showed team work like football butt funny enough in the mid evil times these dudes kicked ass has each other’s back the game looks okay for Super Nintendo. I’m a fan bro don’t mess with my team VATO LOKO! Awewo
I loved watching the cartoon back in the 90's, the animation was solid and had great music by Shuki Levy who also did the original Power Ranger music. I loved how each knight's shield had the ability to summon a dragon or a ram, also the main villain Morgana was hawt
When I first saw this game at the start of the video, I thought it couldn't be that bad for its time. It looks like a typical 1992 Enix game. It was released in 1995.
Cartoon series was gold back in the day. that aside, the game was an unfortunate victim of circumstances. It was based on the 1st season, was terribly rushed (no cooperation on Enix's part as I've heard) and as it turns out, the dev team was left with scraps to work with and just pushed out a piece of programming, not a game. The game was to be "the final episode" of the cartoon series, whilst you play through a few episodes from both season 1 and 2 (as stated before, it was only season 1 in the end result). Apparently the folks that made Star Ocean took inspiration from this idea and created an Anime to which no final episode was made, instead, you play the game to get one of 80+ endings that concludes the anime. Not sure if you've heard of Doom Resurrection on SEGA 32x, which was a complete reworking of the mess of the original release, but I'm hoping someone goes back and fixes this game to what it was supposed to be. There's a lot of games out there that were just horrible, but deserved better. This is certainly one of them.
I used to watch the show years ago. It was part of a block known as Amazing Adventures. This was one of my faves from that block. The others were Street Sharks, Mighty Max, Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders & Double Dragon. While I like the show, I doubt I will ever get it and play it.
I loved this cartoon!! I remember seeing a partial walkthrough in Nintendo Power and wanting to play this so bad. Finally played it on an emulator years later and, yeah, it was no good. Could have been great.
This was Enix's only game developed by an American studio (in fact it was developed by Manley & Associates, which also developed the Ninja Gaiden II DOS PC port and the Wizard of Oz SNES game).
It's actually kind of enjoyable to watch a hero perform a heroic act, such as Mr Drunk playing bad games and complaining, to respect the requests. I say give that man a patreonship (if you haven't already) (but don't request shitty games) (or do).
I remember buying a toy from toys'r'us based on this cartoon after I watched it back when I was a kid. The show was great, never played the game though, don't remember seeing it in rental stores
Wow, had no idea this even existed, too bad cause it appeared to have a lot of potential that sadly got dashed by the usual curse of being a licensed tie-in game and probably got rushed to market. Clearly there was intention for a 2-player function and if they could lay out the terrain a bit more id have been more coherent. But alas.
Hey, this was my favorite saturday morning cartoon as a little kid!.... Okay, maybe second to Sonic SatAM. Even as someone who knew about the show, I had no idea it had a game. Sad that it's apparently not great, though this style of game is usually right up my alley.
It's disappointing to learn that this game is that awful. I remember seeing a preview of it in Nintendo Power years ago and thinking that it looked fun, but then I forgot about it and never ran into it. I remembered it a couple of years back and put it on my backlog. Thanks for this review; now I can remove this from said backlog.
Wauw, SNES drunk is angry drunk today. Sadly, I remember absolutely nothing about this cartoon series, except that I thought it was awesome back when I watched it as a kid. I would love to watch it again tbh.
I freaking LOVED the show when I was a kid. Look up the intro for it at the very least. Wanted this game badly when I was a kid, too. But it looks like I dodged a bullet there, at least!
The only other thing that stands out about the game: It does what the series couldn't, finish the storyline (albeit not quite as intuitively as one would WANT but blame ACT and others for forcing shows to compromise, often to their detriment)
Yikes! This is more expensive than Final Fantasy III at my local retro game store. $54.95 as opposed to $50.00... lol wut. BTW, I traded in a bunch of games and DVD's I wasn't greatly fond of and I bought FF III for $20.00. Thanks for all the videos, SnesDrunk!!!
I remember hearing bananarama's cruel summer and thinking they ripped off this theme song as a kid. Sick ass intro to a cartoon followed by Mummies Alive and only beaten by The Mighty Morphine Power Rangers intro. Not a typo
I only got to catch the show a couple of times. It never got onto the more famous Saturday line ups near me. Just a few showings in the early AM on off brand channels. It actually looked pretty cool. The story was batshit, but just as batshit any other cartoon at the time.
This game was such a disappointment because I really loved the cartoon back in the day. I'm sure I'd find it terrible now but I thought it was the coolest at the time. The story just screams "make a vidja game outta me". The characters have videogamey super powers. It deserved so much better.
Not gonna lie: sending high school football players back in time to become knights sounds like an amazing premise for a cartoon, in the right hands. Too bad the game sucks.
I remember watching the show as a kid. Like most Saturday morning cartoons from the early to mid 90's, it had dodgy writing and was really just a vehicle to sell toys. I also remember renting and playing this game as a kid. I also also remember that it was terrible and unintuitive.
Wow! That dragon sprite work at 3:24 is so awesome!!
This game was made by the same developer of The Wizard of Oz on SNES, so yeah, it's not surprising how it turned out.

Never watched the show myself but heard the theme song on one of those top 10 videos and thought it was near Saint Seiya levels of awesome.
TransKingFormers I was gonna write the same thing. Surprised he hadn't heard of it
megamarsonic it's cruel summer but faster
It didn't take long to find the "hurrrr u don't know cartoon!! I seen all time!!"
Most rocking 90s cartoon theme ever
This was one of my favorite Cartoons of all time
@BxxDxx Hoodoo It was on as I got home after school, and I was lucky enough to have the bus drop me off literally in front of my house.
You know a game is bad when Lagoon is seen as a better game. Lagoon is terrible, but it has a special place in my heart at least.
I'll stick with Knights of the Round.
+ King of Dragons!
KWKBOX magic sword
For a second I thought you just meant Final Fantasy 7.
Hahaha, great review man! This was one of the games that I gave up trying to play pretty early on into it. By the looks of it, I made the right choice!
Thanks for watching
I'll organize my socks then. By color or size? Both?
Name each of them then alphabetize them by name
Shouldn't they all be the same size though? Why would you have differently sized socks?
CharginChuck there are different sizes in length.
Thanks SNES drunk for all your awesome videos!! THANKS YOU!!!
Thanks for watching
Awesome! I used to watch obscurities like Fantastic Max and Mummies Alive but have never heard of this one.
I’d never heard of this game and thought I was going to have one of those new old game discovery golden moments. You crushed my dreams with honesty at about the minute mark.
Fortunately the good people of the comments section lead me to the cartoon’s theme song. It was worth it.
Oh my god. I just had that same full experience.🤣
Please review King Arthur's World at some point. I remember renting that one in the day and loving it (though, I never beat it).
Is that the one that's kinda like lemmings? You have archers and knights, etc and have to shoot up into castles to hit guys?
@@journeyman1218 yeah, that sounds like it
I loved the cartoon so much as a kid. It was the first cartoon I'd ever seen where the good guys didn't always win.

No way they had a cartoon.
@@fidelsolis6070 yeah super hard to find now
@@arcadeperfectreviews2653 The cartoon maybe. But the game no. He said it sucks.

Sadly you're 100% right, I picked this one up a few years ago and even my thick ass nostalgia goggles couldn't cover this games shame.

The cartoon was Awesome highly recommended btw they ended it midway season 1 ;)
I used to love that show. It was like medieval sentai. I'm sure if I tried to watch it now though I probably wouldn't like it.
It had a second season, but it had TERRIBLE animation
Yep I remember I liked it.... Now I must go watch it!

Right. He must be born late 90s early 2000s or something
I... I think I still have the instruction booklet to this game...
Im glad that it wasnt just 8 year old me having a hard time with this. I had noo idea what to do.
