I worked with Rulon Gardner at his gym for three years. He was a great boss. And, despite the weight gain, that man could still wrestle anybody and, not only outlast them endurance-wise, but decisively beat them as well.
Rulons victory over Karelin isn't given the recognition it deserves as one of the greatest upsets in all of sports, prior to that loss Karelin hadn't been scored on in six years and his career record of 887 victories to 2 defeats (Both by a single point) will probably never be surpassed.

Let me fix the title for you: 5 Anerican only Olympic athletes who look slightly different due to aging, training for a completely different sporting discipline or, as they no longer compete professionally, have stopped training altogether Not only more accurate but is catchier and flows better

I always thought Korbet was Russian or part of, i.e. U.S.S.R. Nadya Comeneci was from Rumania wasn't she? I saw them both at Wembley in '79, '80 or '81. They were absolutely amazing. Think they both are U.S. Citizens now.

Tonya didn't know. She couldn't know. It would have affected her performance. However, she rose up from a trailer park and didn't have any of the usual avenues figure skaters often had: she rose above them all performing the first of a number of moves EVER in competition. He mistake was dating from the trailer park boys list of availables. And a 15 year old Ukranian scooped the Gold anyway., probably due to subjective judging and the judges getting pretty choked with BOTH Americans..
Tonya was not allowed to skate as a profession anymore after that. Skating was all she knew how to do, and her career was done. She was def canceled back then, lol!
Tanya Harding also set a land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in August 2009. And what about Bruce Jenner? He made a massive change between then and now.
There is no “might have gone too far” when it comes to Tonya Harding. she DiD go to far and has the criminal record to prove it. Horrible way to introduce her.

Im not sure if metabolic rates had anything to do with Mark Spitz's fluid dynamical moustache but i supposed their could be a quadratic equation out there somewhere to correlate those variable factors.
