    I am 69, went to the NHL Vancouver Canuck Training Camp in 1972. I just purchased a new set of the Warrior G4s, they are 1/2 the weight of my old pads. Easy to put on and man do they slide nicely.

      Samuel Rusu these seem to slide way too much. I heard that the speed skins are just a gemic as if they don't work that well. I might order my p2s just regular without the speed skins.

    • @samuelrusu9081
      @samuelrusu9081 6 років тому

      MyCrEaSe you might as well add the speedskin because it will only make your pads lighter and who knows if they work that be great wouldn't. Personally I believe that they slide better and the new design is sick

    Taylor where did you used to play? And also would you recommend the 1x Vapor Chest protector or the Premier Pro Chest

    • @SourceforsportsNation
      @SourceforsportsNation  6 років тому

      Hey Samuel, thanks for your question. I've actually never had the chance to try either the Bauer Vapor 1X or the CCM Premier chest protectors on the ice. But if you visit one of our stores, our goalie experts will be able to give you an educated opinion on both chest protectors. As far where I used to play, I played a little bit of Junior A and B, as well as 2 seasons of university hockey. - Taylor

    Would You Consider the CCM Eflex2s Heavy?

  • @nadimadatia
    @nadimadatia 5 років тому +2

    Riddle me this: If the amount of weight sliding remains the same, and the amount of surface area is reduced, aren't you just displacing more weight onto less space, INCREASING the friction on the areas of the pad that remain in contact with the ice while sliding? I think I can grasp that your pad is making less contact with the ice, but it's doing so with MORE frication in the parts that do... less weight on the pad at least.

    I am curious as to why no NHL goalies are wearing Warrior gear. Would like to try it myself.

    • @SourceforsportsNation
      @SourceforsportsNation  6 років тому +3

      Hi Phil, thanks for the question! You don't see any Warrior pads or gloves in the NHL because in the past few years Warrior has opted not to pay the hefty NHL licensing fee, using that money to improve their products instead. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see them back in the NHL in the next couple of years. - Taylor

    • @GCHG2014
      @GCHG2014 6 років тому

      I would argue that point. Having coached goalies for several years I would say Warrior is plagued by durability . I love how they think outside the box with designs, but they don't hold up as long as other brands do. I'll go with the licensing fees being ridiculous but that is NHL not Junior, College, High School, Midget etc. They have gotten much better with quality but still are behind.

    glove? yeah thats light, blocker? nope. it's as heavy as any other, i tried an infinity goalie blocker last night and it absolutely blew warrior out of the water for weight. it was CRAZY light

    • @SourceforsportsNation
      @SourceforsportsNation  6 років тому

      Thanks for the question Tyler! It's tough to say which one of them slides better, CCM's SpeedSkin vs. Warrior's AirSlide feel so much different when you're sliding that I'm actually not sure which pads slide faster. It might be a matter of personal preference. - Taylor

    • @SourceforsportsNation
      @SourceforsportsNation  6 років тому +2

      Thanks for watching! As far as sliding goes, I find it's all personal preference. Some goalies have stronger legs and can push across quickly without needing any help sliding. However, I found in trying the G4's out on scratched up ice that I could still slide across very quickly, which could be a big help late in a game or in overtime like Kirk mentioned. - Taylor
