  • The B side of the 'King's Lead Hat' 45, (released Jan 1978) a collaboration with Snatch - Judy Nylon (the Judy of Eno's song "Back in Judy's Jungle) and Patti Palladin, two expat American artists living in London, involves sound elements from a Baader Meinhof ransom message made by public telephone at the time of the Lufthansa Flight 181 hijacking. Judy had appeared in the video for 'China My China' and sang on John Cale's "The Man Who Couldn't Afford to Orgy" on his album Fear. Her own 1982 LP 'Pal Judy' is an unhailed classic of the post-punk era. Patti is best known for working with Johnny Thunders and The Flying Lizards on their Fourth Wall album of 1981 where she wrote the lyrics and sang on 5 tracks.

I echo that sentiment - I adore Percy Jones's playing. Rubbery sounding. A standout feature for me on Another Green World/ Music for Films/ Before & After Science. And gorgeous on here too.

Percy is the most ALIEN bass player ever. He always does something you couldn't imagine to hear from a bass. I love everything he did, even the absurd Cape Catastrophe.

Viva Judy Nylon @ Snatch … the mama of ‘ambient ‘ and this particular sampled collage mode …

I got this when it came out. It's got the voices of the Baader Meinhof gang - Red Army Faction. Groovy AF.

One of my favourite purloined tracks on mixtape cassettes, now sadly disappeared into the bin of tangled ferrous oxide, and criminally under-available electronically!

Never heard before. B side of Kings Lead Hat: so we are in After Science period (that record is a masterpiece in rock history) but the sound of this song has nothing to do with Before and after. Good idea to put it in a b side.

JUDY Nylon (from back in Judy's Jungle): "Back in Blighty there was you, there were milkmen every morning": The milkmen drive GREEN milk trucks and make a WEIRD wizzing sound as they go around the corners. They appear at about six a.m. when it's still dark out.
