Did fn resolve the 45 mag issue and send you a 10mm because the lips of the mag on the 45 are open up to much for the 10mm and will cause the rds to jump up
It also don’t need a o ring anymore. The thread protector on mine has an extra pinch on the end so that when you thread it to the end, it screw on extra tight so it won’t walk off when firing. I tried and it works pretty well. I still put an o ring on it to make sure it will never walk off but it’s not something to worry about anymore. NOTE: this thread protector is the same size as the FNX-45/FN-545 one so you can order another one and put it on those. Same as any .45 can can be threaded onto the 510 since they are the same size. I tried with my Rugged Obsidian and it fit perfectly.
@@StryderK I see it going like this for me; 510 thread cap gets removed/replaced for cleaning. 545 thread cap gets removed for use of a can. Simplicity of the O ring being there works for me though I’m typically a bit too hamfisted for delicate items. lol
PSA - the FN 510 has an unsupported chamber resulting in brass bulge. It’s worse than the Glock bulge. Reloading for the FN can result in case failure and blowout. I wish I know this before paying $1k. 😢 I spoke with FN regarding this concern. They said that they are aware of the issue, but aren’t doing anything to solve it. In their exact words, “it operates fine, you just can’t reload your brass.” I’m sure that a certain slop is attentional to aid in reliability, but this is excessive. I’m would watch this closely. It’s only a matter of time before some has a blowout and this is elevated to a legal issue. 🤷♂️
I own it… love it… don’t care what you or the haters say…

They did. Sent me a 10mm mag and a return label for the .45 mag.
It does in fact have an O ring on the thread cap. It’s in the end of the cap in the channel made for it to seat in.
Good call. I never thought to check the protector itself.

Does it have supported chamber and will it feed hardcast?
We will find out shortly. Should be headed out to the range in the next week or 2 to film. Will have an eye out for glock smile

I'll keep an eye out for it during range testing.
Here we are 1yr later and this isnt a thing apparently.
Great video except didn’t disassemble the slide and show how to swap out the back grip plate.
I'm working on doing separate disassembly and cleaning videos
Looking forward to your range review!
Thank you. I think its gonna be a fun one.
No field strip fora look inside ?
Good call. I'll start adding that to my tabletops going forward.
