That's awesome to see such a comprehensive and detailed review of this because I already had the Arrow Limited Edition and was not sure if this was worth upgrading to 4k. However after seeing your review I'm definitely convinced it is seems to be worth the upgrade and I have added this to my (now very very very large!) wish list!
The Good News is that this set is actually worth a double or triple dip lol!!! This Arrow 4K edition is the Ultimate way to own this film, especially since you are already a big fan of this film. Thanks for sharing your nice comments.
One of the scariest movie I have ever seen. The dream where James Naughton sees the Nazi werewolves is horrific. And to make it worse, I saw this film with my friends when it came out @ the Great Neck Squire theatre. During the film he calls home & the entire audience realizes he's calling a Nassau County Great Neck telephone prefix. Then the nightmare begins and it was too much and people actually left the theatre they were so freaked out by this.
So looking forward to this release as it's one of my all time favourite movies of it's genre. Thank you again for another excellent review, 9 times out of 10 Arrow never disappoint, I hope you do a review of their forthcoming 4K release of Robocop too, I'd love to see a comparison with Arrow's previous blu-ray release 👍🏻 Keep up the great work my friend.
Yes I will be doing another early advance review on the upcoming Robocop Limited Edition 4K UltraHD Blu Ray Set from Arrow Video, I usually get the big Arrow Video releases early for review here on my UA-cam Channel. I am also planning on doing my Exclusive 4K vs Blu Ray image comparisons on RoboCop Limited Edition set. So there is always tons of exciting stuff to look forward to watching here on my UA-cam channel! Thanks for your great comments, I am glad you enjoyed all the hard work I put into all these videos.
Just ordered my copy today as I wasn't aware of this release till now. Hopefully that 4k release of Paris gets put out here in USA as I'd like to add that to collection as well.
One of the greatest horror films of all time. The atmosphere, the music, the special effects, the drop dead gorgeous Jenny Agutter. This movie had it all. I really don't like comedy injected into otherwise serious films. Thor Ragnarok, while very good, I hated the comedy. However, AWiL knocked the blending of seriousness and comedy out of the park. For me payday is next Friday and I'll definitely use your link. Excellent review. 📽️🍿🌭 🐺
I kinda feel the same way about the added humor, it never felt like it fit very well with the overall serious theme & subject of serious movies. But it’s still a cult classic no matter what anyone thinks & has only grown even more popular over the years. Thanks for sharing your great comments & using the links with your support of my UA-cam Channel, I appreciate it.
WOW! Outstanding review and unboxing. You truly are the best reviewer and provide the most detailed content and entertaining videos. Thanks for all your time and amazing hard work.
I have the arrow blu ray edition and my issue is opposite of most people. I actually love the grain and that film look and I'm wondering if both version resembles how the film looked on the theater. I know I'm pretty nostalgic. Anyways, excellent review and I do can see a distinction between the 4k vs. Blu Ray picture wise. Also, I prefer the original mono sound though I'm not sure if it was compressed cause if you notice, with film/music broadcasting, it always sounds like the sound has been enhanced whereas with digital media, I feel that they compress it. Anyways, not enough good things can be said about this film. Absolute masterpiece classic. @@InSearchofPhysicalMedia

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia Hi James, Thank you for this detailed review. The information you provided helped me to decide to go ahead and buy this movie. I have preordered the 4K version because of the difference’s that you pointed out between the blu-ray and 4K version. I already have the Arrow blu-ray release but I think it’s worth spending the money to upgrade to the limited edition 4K Ultra HD version. I watched this movie at the cinema when it was originally released in Australia back in 1981. I look forward to your next review! Catch you later.
@@raybevan5209 Sweet! Glad all the comparisons helped you. I also love collecting each of these Limited Edition Arrow Video Releases. Each of these Limited Edition sets look so cool on display & the more you have in line together looks even better lol!!! But they are always very expensive if you miss out on ordering them before they sell out. I do wish Arrow Video would release more of these classic movies on 4K more often though, because I think overall they provide some of the nicest & most collectible Limited Edition 4K sets that are produced by any company. Have you been collecting Arrow Video Limited Editions for a while? Do you have a bunch of these Limited Edition type sets already? Thanks for your great comments & support.
@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia Hi James, Your enthusiasm has inspired me to start collecting these Arrow releases. Yes, I will be doing an early advance review on the RoboCop Limited Edition 4K UltraHD Blu Ray Set with my Exclusive 4K vs Blu Ray Image Comparisons. I usually always do reviews on the big Arrow Video Limited Edition sets that Arrow send directly to me for early reviews. I have done tons of these type of reviews over the years, so there is always something new & exciting coming out to watch on my Channel. Great ass stuff here man 👌. I do have both Turbine Ultimate versions(beautiful sets especially the cherry red edition 🔥) and i think it does look nice albeit tad darker. Iam running it off a UMD1000(Panasonic 🔥) and the HDR looks sweet. This arrow release will look even prettier going by these shots here. Nice comparison 👌. Just subbed btw.
If the picture looks better but not the colors, then it’s the settings on your TV & or 4K Player that need calibrated. With a lot of these NEW 4K Restorations & Remasters if your 4K Player & 4K TV are not professionally calibrated or calibrated at least close to correctly you will be missing out on some of the big benefits of Dolby Vision & HDR. So I would take the time to look into have your 4K Player & TV calibrated so you see the full image the way it was intended with the full effects of HDR colors. 4K content is a whole new level above just Blu Ray and requires a little more time to make sure you are getting the most out of the HDR expanded color. Hopefully this helps you out!
@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia well I'm not sure how I can calibrate an Xbox one X. Usually the HDR looks amazing in these movies in terms of colors but this one seems flat compared to the 2k Arrow restoration. And I'm not sure how much calibration I can do with my LG tv. I'll look up ways to do it if it's possible.
@@Insomniackuzco well sorry to say this but using an Xbox to watch these 4K restorations & releases is not great.
