RULES
1. When Rose is allowed in the party, she must be in the party.
2. Only Rose can do damage to enemies. The only exception to this is if an enemy is mathematically unable to kill one of Rose's allies and the run command is disabled. In this case, the character may use physical attacks with no addition input.
3. All buffs placed on Rose by other teammates must expire before she can act.
4. Dragoon form IS ALLOWED. However, Rose may not summon her dragon.
5. Whenever possible, allies must start boss battles with 1 HP.
6. When Rose is not able to be in the party, anything goes.

I don't know why i didn't think tantacles knew about Xenosaga but 36:40 into the run tantacles plays the soundtrack of the first game (personally my most favorite one the three).
I approve this use of the soundtrack for tantacles awesome challenges.
Back in 2016, still in college, I decided to follow a 100% guide for the entire trilogy. I made it through episode 1, and maybe (?) to the second disk of episode 2 before I stopped playing. Only stopped playing because of graduation coming up, and then finding work, working, etc. Beat the first episode at least twice, though.
@@Magnosummit I still own all 3 episodes (had to order brand new ones on ebay awhile ago since the originals were so old and worn) It's really a hidden gem since when the trilogy came out it was during a time rpg's weren't very popular it originally was suppose to be i think 7 episodes, but due to the market of rpg's being very low which caused low sales it was cut to three.
Episode two is a really rough one since they tried experimenting with a high/low/mid/ether combo weakness style which many fans who played the series weren't a fan of. So episode two i played the least of personally.
Episode One > Episode Three > Episode Two
I will also say i'm not one for religion in video games UNLESS it really makes sense and drives the story/narration and they did it masterfully in Xenosaga series.
Finally I am playing Legend of Dragoon. Which means I can now watch all of your Legend of Dragoon videos. Every. Single. One of them...

Very nice! Never thought this could be done with Rose, but you made it look easy.
I love the story reason why she starts as the best but eventually the new dragoons outpace her...I hate it because she's my favorite and she gets benched halfway through the game.

I love that franchise. There was a speed run of part 2 at the most recent RPG limit break that showed how much you can break that battle system. It's been too many years since I played those games, but they are fantastic!

It's really interesting seeing Rose do so well in the solo run. In a regular playthrough she's just not able to keep up with the party's Stat growth.
The extral levels from soloing bosses must really benefit her.

I haven't played this since I was a teen (when I tried again after not playing since I was young) and let's just say I NEVER beat this game because I found it so hard. Nice to see SOMEONE playing it well ;p
It's actually real easy if you can do the additions. Almost every fight it's easier to do basic attacks instead of using magic or utilities

23:00 Have you tried using charm potion on yourself in battle for the bogeys? This stops minor enemies from attacking that character for three of that character's turns. We usually only use that strat when Dart does his first hellena fight in Any%, but I think it works here since they are minor enemies. Since you're soloing running, I bet you can abuse this a lot outside of boss fights. If that doesn't work, there are two total vanishings on Disc 1 we pick up, and I think a third before you get to this point that we don't pick up. You can save them for this fight if it's a consistent issue.

Dragoon only run, since the spirit potion in battle restores one dragoon level, so you cant cheese items, you need a lot.

Not necessarily. Rose's Black Monster disguise seems to make her unrecognizable to others, even if it's just her suped up Dragoon form. But even if Zieg does recognize Rose, hos transformation to Dragoon releases Melbu Frahma's spirit from within Zieg's dragoon spirit, thereby possessing Zieg. Melbu Frahma knows Rose to be sure, but for all we know, Zieg's actual consciousness is dormant. In the final FMV, the reawakened Zieg is aware of everything up to that point anyhow. But even if he knew about Rose in Neet, his possession would have prevented him confronting her

I absolutely love this game, but the translation is horrid, and the dragoons feel underpowered almost instantly.
I may go on and see if there are mods to emulate it ( I own the game), and see if they have a better translated/gameplay balanced mods

Magic items are so busted in Dragoon that I think this is generally considered easier than just playing the game as intended.
@@BlueSparxLPs It generally is, up until you hit the Point Of No Return. The one shop after that point doesn't sell attack items, you you really have to stretch to make what you can carry in to that portal last to the end of the final boss' health bar. Banning items would probably be more interesting in addition to being harder.

Soo...question...i love the game, but im not the greatest at additions....mid-tier at best, i could never get the hang of the last couple additions of the characters...all of them...do that mean im fucked when it comes to fighting the real boss (faust)? i feel like since i cant get the timing down on the strongest additions, hes always push my shit in...is that really the case? can anyone recommend a good strat?
You could always grind out for an Ultimate Wargod. They're 10,000 Gold and count as a full addition and the attack will do full damage, as well as letting you level it up, unlike the other wargod amulet item. Down side is, it takes your accessory slot. You could also make Faust super easy by using 2 Legend Casques and a Dragon helm on your party loadout, or a breeze with all characters equipped with one. Pair that with Magic Shield and he simply becomes a giant magic SFX showcase with little risk
LoD is extremely flexible towards different levels of comfort or play styles.
