    I really enjoy all your videos. I find that I enjoy watching the smaller channels more than the ones that have a lot of subscribers and push a lot of high price gagets and start to think they are everything. This grill looks like a good idea. My husband and I where just talking about something like this for emergency stoves for us and to get as 🎁 for other people in the family.

      @@pcaffeldt I have used mine several times now and other than the learning curve of finessing the temperature to figure where it needs to be I'm very happy with it. It will definitely go in the kit for car camping. All I use in my rice is the white rice, chicken (marinated in ginger sesame dressing) a vegetable mix that will be to individual preference, a little salt and pepper and soy sauce. But the secret ingredient is sesame oil if you want the full flavor.

      It’s such a cool and versatile stove. My only complaint is that you can’t close it with a green propane bottle inside. That would be my big change if it were up to me.

    Was in the market for a portable grill and portable burner/stove, almost bought 2 separate items, but then I decided to head out to walmart to see what I could find and I found this small 4-1 grill. Love that it basically has all you need to cook almost any kind of meal. Thanks for the video, while I was confident it was a great purchase, its great to see that I was not wrong, really like that you showed off all 4 types of cooking set ups. My only gripe is its a bit on the heavier side than what I was looking for, so backpacking with this is not gonna really be an option, but for picnics and days out with the family and friends, this is perfect. Also for emergency situations as you mentioned. Gonna stock up on some propane just in case, thanks for the video!

    " First time watching your videos. Sound was good and clear. I've been researching the Coleman 4 in 1 system and was also surprised the wok is not recommended as a lid. I believe the reason is, in wok position the heat goes up and around the bowl ,whereas if facing down as a lid the heat would be trapped and possibly warp / damage it. I've seen some videos of people using it as a lid, without any apparent damage, but for relatively short time periods.
    Another reviewer recommended using a disposable aluminum Dutch oven liner ( 12" x 3") as a lid and to line the bottom for easier clean up ( with center cut out).The oil you are cooking with looks like sesame oil, which is meant for seasoning, not cooking, because of it's low smoke point. "

    • @dadbudgetadventures
      @dadbudgetadventures  7 місяців тому +1

      Finally figured this out. The lid has no vent and would smother the flame.

A little tip for everyone when storing any fuel I've found that Sta-bil, marvel mystery oil or Lucas upper cylinder lubricant will keep fuels ( Gasoline/white Coleman fuel) in good shape for a very long time.

    Here in Canada the 1lb. lpg. bottles sell for $10 - $12 dollars but, you can get the fill valve from Amazon and fill refill from a 20 lb. tank. Or connect the stove directly to a larger refiillable tank. I still have my parents 2 burner Coleman stove purchased in the 1960s, a lantern I bought at Zellers in the 70s and a 300 btu catalytic heater. Unforturely a 3.78 (U.S.gal.) can costs #28.00 here in Canada , used to be $5 . Great vid on the stove, Cheers.

    My son was living just south of Fort Lauderdale when hurricane Francis hit.
    No power for 2 weeks and not a place to gather firewood but they did have a propane grill.
    There was a Publix a few blocks away that had a backup generator so each day they picked up what they needed and threw it on the grill.

    audio was good. I'm interested in whether lid can be used as a cover. expect handles to get hot. vents at the side the should be work in wok mode and lid mode. thick meat will sear and cook better.
    If you want a killer video -- figure out how to modify regulator to add quick disconnect to winnebago RV's which have low pressure QD. No more cannisters. 2nd try inverting the wok, do the latches hold down the flat grill/grittle plates and then will wok cover nest around the bottom legs. I'm have a storage spot in my RV bur 15" diameter but only 8" tall. P.S. I plan on cutting and hinging the lid handles to not add to the diameter.

    • @dadbudgetadventures
      @dadbudgetadventures  6 місяців тому

      Cool ideas! I have figured out the wok can’t be used as a lid because it doesn’t have vents. That would cut off air to the burner and snuff it out.

    I've got this same set and really like it! I keep a 1lb to 20lb propane hose, a camp toaster, and a few pot holders/trivets packed inside. I've used it with several different large pots to make things like chili and jambalaya. I also find the flat griddle great for frying eggs at camp, but you have to make sure it's on a level surface. I've lost a few eggs to the drip catch under the burner. The wok is excellent for reheating food, too.

    Compared to the first 3 videos I seen on this, this is a great video!! I wanted to see a review on it because I just found it for $50 new at Ollie's. I might get 2, 1 for home and 1 for the camper. I do a lot of solo winter tent camping at state parks as well. I think this would be great for that too. Thanks!!

    The valve in the top of the propane can is just a rubber ball. They can and do leak, and butane sinks down and can explode. You need to buy some solid brass screw tops. They have a rubber inner seal, so they make the bottle leakproof. $2 to $5 each, online or camping stores.

    UA-cam suggested this video, likely because I've been watching camp stove videos for camping power outages (we get tornadoes). You've definitely got me wanting to look further into this vs the Coleman 2 burner stove, especially for power outages.

    Thanks for making this video! Was wondering how/if the product works. Was really wondering about the grill and how messy that would be with grease not being contained.
    Hope you keep making videos - I am a camper and can always use good suggestions - especially about food in the field.

    The wok isn’t a cooking lid because it isn’t venting not like on a barbecue grill with vents. Probably afraid it will choke out the flame or be an explosion hazard. Nice video just saw your channel for the first time. Have fun be safe.

    • @dadbudgetadventures
      @dadbudgetadventures  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much for pointing that out. You are absolutely right. Adding vents would keep it from being a wok and no vents means no air. You're a genius!

    I am late to the party, and this is the first vid from your channel I saw and I enjoyed it! Will certainly be watching more and subscribing. The microphone sounded great, though I have no reference point as to how it sounded before. If you have an equalizer, I would recommend maybe turning the highs down a touch, but I only noticed that after you mentioned wanting feedback haha. Some of the background sounds seem like the highs are more prominent.
    As for the wok being used as a lid, I assume the only thing holding it back from being a lit would be the lack of ventilation. Since there wasn’t an air vent it would probably affect your flame, allowing a lot of steam and possibly unburned gas to build up and start choking put the flame since there would be less oxygen. But, that is just an idea. I don’t know for sure. I actually have not heard of this stove before, but you have enticed my curiosity about it now!
    Thanks for the review, looking forward to checking out some other videos of yours

      Glad to have you here. Thanks for the input! I believe you are correct about the wok. It’s not set up with vents so it wouldn’t work as a lid.

      Glad it helped. I've used it a few times now (it's featured in my new camping video) and I'm still super happy with it. My camping buddy really liked using it too. Only down side so far, it doesn't grip well on a frozen table top, but how often will that be an issue?

    Very cool Thanks for the video. I'm guessing the paint on that lid/"wok" is the problem. I'd just put my little wok with the small side handles in there as a wok would make it a real deal. Heck, even a stainless dog bowl although if you have a dog, she will clearly be annoyed that you're eating her food!

      @@dadbudgetadventures I thought a lot about your paint can kit and have 2 suggestions: a gallon ziplock bag and possibly a quart one too so you can keep the rest together as you use the can, and for a woman I would recommend a polyester/mylar tent instead of the Bivy bag and here's why. If she ever get stuck in a traffic jam or a storm it would work well in the car, and she would be able to walk in it to take care of her outside business in complete privacy. I've camped with one just tucking one end under me too. a piece of string or bungie around the waist to wear like a friar. Isn't it great so many people as coming on board with preparedness.

    My guess would be u can use it for a cooking lid, it's probably Coleman being safe than sorry, probably a technical aspect like propane could potentially pool in the lid if used as a lid thus causing a sufficient explosion, but u can definitely use it that way, just make sure flame doesn't go out start pool propane then a spark , but basically because it don't have the vent on the lid because otherwise u couldn't use for wok, so just a technicalities

    • @dadbudgetadventures
