One of my major inspirations. When I was learning to play pipes in the late 80s my teacher would be playing all this Rare Air stuff at me. Love you guys... just all out fun music.
I had the extreme great pleasure of seeing Rare Air at the Fine Arts Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on March 18, 1990, 8pm. Tickets were $8. No, tickets were priceless. I added this detail because was an absolutely fantastic, superb, excellent... well... great concert, and relationship with Rare Air. Aka the Canadian group 'Na Cabarfeidh'. Rare Air is in my top 5 of all time awesome musical groups. I have purchased several CDs in the event they wear out. All of my cars have Rare Air music molded into the circuits. As do my music devices. At every opportunity, I expose people who will tolerate my enthusiasm for Rare Air, to rare Air. More often than not, it resonates. I could wax on but ya'll's get the idea. Rare Air... beyond a bang up group of musicians, music, awesomeness. Seriously folks, if you have made it this far... listen to their albums. Get infected. This could get into your blood. Support this musical history. Oh, and their concert in 1990 was musical magic. I was and still am so bummed they disbanded soon after. They announced this during the concert. Heart broken. And I never before, or since, got *in* to a musical group like this. And have always wanted to recount that during the concert, one of the musicians, yawned... This moment was and to this day continues to be indelible in my brain. Why? Even tho Patrick O'Gorman announced the group would be disbanding soon, he impressed on his bandmate the need to remain professional. I thought that was fantastic. Still do. Why mention that? Because it was one of many impressions made on me. Have never met but would given the chance, Patrick O'Gorman and his bandmates. Because they were dialed in, tight, tremendous. The overall of course is the music. Rare Air... one of my fav groups and experiences. Like ever. So there... after decades, I got it out. Tx Rare Air. I have an A list of music and groups. Rare Air is above the A list. Listen to them folks. And finally, to any Rare Air who may be listening... THANK YOU. Hardly scratches the surface of how cool I felt you folks are, were, are.
Och, my lads!! I first saw them play at Owen Sounds' Summerfolk Festival in 1988, the year Mom passed suddenly. They got me dancin' again. Love these guys, miss them madly. Wore out their cassettes. THANK YOU FOR POSTING!!!!!!! Och aye!

Awesome!
Got to see them live at a planeterium in '89. Great show & spoke with Grier & Pat after - they were real nice.
Thanks!
I saw them at Down Home in Johnson City in TN and they were wonderful! Long live bagpipe funk!
Same here!
I have Mad Plaid and Hard to Beat on vinyl.
I have three different cassettes of theirs and three different albums of theirs from before they were Rare Air.
Rare Air at the "X" Toronto, mid-80's
I saw the Lee's Palace show they are referring to. Barenaked Ladies, then unknown, opened for them. Both bands were great.
@delanoire1 Rare Air has about forty songs for sale on the Itunes Store. I hope that helps you some.

You guys should never have broken up...
