Forging an Unfolded Cross with Bryan Dale Headley

Bryan Dale Headley, The Singing Blacksmith, demonstrates basic blacksmithing techniques in forging a miniature horseshoe, and then forges an unfolded cross and discusses how blacksmithing symbolizes his walk with God. He finishes with a lovely acoustical version of Amazing Grace.
First Bryan introduces us to the tools of his trade including the Forge, blower, fire pot, leather apron, coking coal, steel toed boots, safety glasses, leather gloves tongs, anvils, hammers, cone anvil or mandrel, and swage blocks.
Bryan begins his work by forging a miniature horseshoe to demonstrate the heating of the steel, hammering steel and the use of the cone mandrel.
Forging a Cross, known as an Unfolded Cross is another lesson demonstrated in this video. As Bryan forges this cross, he explains how it is also a metaphor for the work God does in us throughout our lives until we become the completed cross.
Finally Bryan - The Singing Blacksmith - accompanies his guitar singing Amazing Grace.
