The picture of you and Erica sitting and knitting against that beautiful red painted building is stunning ! thank you . I watched this at work this weekend. Loved it .
Thank you so much! I loved watching this and will watch again at a slower speed to vicariously shop at Brooklyn General. Glad you and Erica had such a delightful trip that you shared with us.
Ha - it was definitely a lot of walking, but so worth it! I'm sure it's changing all the time ... I've been going to various parts of the city for the last 15 years and things definitely come and go pretty quickly! (Especially after 2020.)
This was a wonderful blog. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us. That image of you and Erica knitting at the red wall is such a great image of friendship ❤
Jen, this was so wonderful to watch from start to finish! Thank you for the time you put into making this and for sharing your experiences! A visit to Brooklyn is in order for me! 😊
It was an awesome adventure, thank you so much for sharing it with us. There are so many new places since I lived there, most recently in the late 90s. Every time I see one of your videos about NYC I want to move back! Something I am considering After retirement.
Thanks so much for bringing us along on your adventures... wonderful viewing, thank you also for all the work it must entail ! (Clap Clap Emoji thingamajig)
You have the best editorial and video approach of the entire week!! Thank you for capturing it for those of us who were there, and those at home. It was fun to see what you two enjoyed in Brooklyn; I was one day ahead of your footsteps. (It was so hot!) and had a blast seeing shows and ogling museum exhibits. 21K steps a day, LOL. Hugs to you both. OH! P.S. If I didn't say it on the other video, you captured the single best approach into the city that I have ever seen on any video, movie, tourist promotion...! It was so clear.
Aw, thank you so, so much! I put a lot of time into these videos but I love sharing them so much (and I'm thrilled you enjoyed watching.) So funny that you were one day ahead of us!! It really was hot!
Loved following along with your Rhinebeck adventures. I’m close by in NJ but I also cannot resist the banana pudding from Magnolia when I make it into the city!
I was in NYC with my family in early October for fall break. I dragged them to Brooklyn General, but didn’t know about Cleo’s. Now I’ll have to go back! My husband also loves that banana pudding.
Wauw !1 what a good job !1 you had so much fun ánd we had so much fun watching you having so much fun ! thank you thank you 💚. And ..... you made me cast on a Gib sweater by Andrea Mowry; I love yours. I just split for the sleeves; a lovely pattern.
Wow ! This was a fantastic travel vlog for yarnies ! You captured all the beauty of NY , Central Park and Brooklyn and the filming and color is great . You really seemed to know your way around there ,,, you made it look easy 😂 whereas I ALWAYS dive down the wrong subway hole 😂
Haha, thanks! New York is so fun - I love walking around and exploring so much. (I've been going a couple of times a year for the past 10+ years, so that helps but I still get turned around sometimes!)
OMG, I didn't know about Cleo's in Brooklyn. Even funnier, Castaway is a semi-local yarn store (about an hour away from where I live now) where I grew up. I have visited that shop!
I really enjoyed this, Jen. My daughter lives in Brooklyn and I just visited her after a work event in Chealsea around October 10th. I stayed at a motel in Red Hook, which was very close to her apartment in Carroll Gardens. I also made a beeline for Brooklyn General. To be honest, I was a tad disappointed. I've mail ordered from them, but the physical store was just ok. (I had the same reaction when I visited the Purl Soho store in person years ago, before they closed.) Anyway, I really enjoyed the recap of your visit. thx!

no doubt - what a week. thanks for watching and take care!
My feet hurt just watching! It clearly was a great trip for you and Erica. I haven’t been in Brooklyn since the 1970’s. Boy, how it’s changed!

Ah, I hear you! It's been a rough week, to say the least.
Enjoying exploring Brooklyn with you both. I’ll be there in January. I’m making cotton washcloths for Christmas presents.
Love washcloth knitting! Thanks so much for watching (and have fun in January!)

Cleo and her yarn show seem amazing!
That shop was the COOLEST!!!! I wish I could open something like that here. A dream. (And so colorful and cool.)

Thanks so much for watching (and I know - it's a must-have!)

Never a bad idea to go back - ha! There are still so many spots that are on my list to visit. (And that banana pudding is such a treat!)

I've stayed at the ACE in Manhattan but not Brooklyn. That one is also very nice!
