I particularly appreciate how he doesn’t just display architecture, but explains how history evolved to make the building what it is. The brownstone, the walk up, the railroad apartment, they weren’t random events. They were built that way because it met the needs of the day.
Wow, this guy is a phenomenal speaker. His story telling is detailed but not convoluted. The graphics were super helpful. The pacing is perfect. Would love to see more!
Lived in NYC for almost 20 years and walked through Central Park almost daily for much of that time, and didn’t know most of what was covered in this. One of my favorite AD videos ever, and certainly one of the most interesting and informative. Well done.
no place like nyc, its my dream city to visit. i think i lived there in my past life, because i have always been drawn to it. its so fascinating. i really love how this gentleman presenting nyc and its treasures, very well presented and clear.
Fascinating! There was so much I did not know in here-super-interesting, so well-presented! Great editing and post-production (clear, easy to watch, supportive.)
I need more Wyetzner! He is passionate and knowledge which helps when he breaks down the information for all to understand! I go back and rewatch his AD videos all the time.
Love this guy! I could watch a whole series of him doing this. Have him travel to different US cities and discuss history through architecture. Call it “walk through history” 😊
Wyetzner’s videos are always a hit! Love this content, very inspiring and educational. Having recently visited NYC and Central Park, I'm pleased to better understand & appreciate some of the lore behind the architecture of the area
I'd love to see more about Brooklyn! I know originally NYC was concentrated on and in Manhattan, but places like Greenwood have their own deep history and I'd love to know more about the neighborhoods around me.
Once you consider its formation, its history, where it sits, and the breathtaking beauty that just seems to grow each year and this place is one of the most important and significant parks in existence. It's like a chunk of Eden was picked up and placed in the middle of a fast-paced mega metropolis.
Following that article in the Times about how the Chrysler building has grown really shabby on the inside, a Wyeetzner video on that building would be really cool!
Has there ever been an episode on Los Angeles architecture? Actually, scrap this, AD, do an episode on art deco, there's a lot of interesting building in USA of that style x) And thank for this episode!
This was great. I grew up in Brooklyn. A long time ago I had a sociology professor tell the class, you can start learning about society by looking in your backyard at the historical artifacts in your neighborhoods. Sent us on a journey in less than 2 miles. I'd like to learn what you find about the Arch on eastern parkway, found the statues that commemorate the revolution, into Prospect Park to find the Quaker cemetery.
These are my favorite AD videos but they largely focus on Manhattan whereas the other boroughs have history too. Would love to see some of the others featured for example Historic Richmondtown and Snug Harbor in SI or Fort Wadsworth and Hamilton on both sides of the Verrazzano. I’m sure there are more!
Black slave cemetery it’s next to W Central Park Ave somewhere between 72 st & 60 St it’s inside the Park and looks like a flat garden, always preferred not to be mentioned in most documentaries but on Washington Sqre Park everybody knows that a cemetery lies underneath the Park victims of Malaria mostly.
I am very excited to see this headline and I'm going to watch. I am 30% native to North and South America. Mostly California. It's so important for people to understand that there was history before colonizers. Thank you, thank you thank you
thank you for the acknowledgment of sacred Indigenous ancestral lands, i would love to see inclusion in every video 🧡 also, we may need an entire episode on Seneca Village 🖤 much obliged
@@jamesclarkmaxwell-v2nyes because american isn’t a ethnicity or culture you know this. america is the greatest place because it is the place for everybody

This guy is such a natural born teacher and orator. I could listen to him for hours!
He has such a calming voice and cadence while also sounding enticingly wise and enlightening (which he is).
He should do a tours and a class i would take it!
More Wyetzner please. I love how he breaks down (regular) architecture especially landscape architecture.
He's just terrific.
I particularly appreciate how he doesn’t just display architecture, but explains how history evolved to make the building what it is. The brownstone, the walk up, the railroad apartment, they weren’t random events. They were built that way because it met the needs of the day.
Wyetzner is an American treasure! Keep him close, AD! Keep him close!
don’t care
Wow, this guy is a phenomenal speaker. His story telling is detailed but not convoluted. The graphics were super helpful. The pacing is perfect. Would love to see more!

I've been to the Park innumerable times, and it's so great to learn so many things that were oblivious to me. More Central Park please!
One of the better video productions no repetition of information. And a real voice.
Filled with a lot of information
Please consider doing a tour in Philadelphia! I'd love to hear you guys talk about the city of brotherly love.
A brilliant rediscovery, kept brief, but with enough detail for anyone wanting to dig deeper. Thank you, AD !
I need more Wyetzner! He is passionate and knowledge which helps when he breaks down the information for all to understand! I go back and rewatch his AD videos all the time.
These are my favorite! More NYC history please!
Love this guy! I could watch a whole series of him doing this. Have him travel to different US cities and discuss history through architecture. Call it “walk through history” 😊
Great Idea 🤔💭😍💭💯🎯❤️
..“A WALK THROUGH HISTORY”... Let The Story begin..❤
Crazy how by the time of Cleopatra, Egypt already had forgotten temples falling into ruin.
Wyetzner’s videos are always a hit! Love this content, very inspiring and educational.
Having recently visited NYC and Central Park, I'm pleased to better understand & appreciate some of the lore behind the architecture of the area
What a great video. As a new Yorker, I appreciate these types of videos. Thanks
Professor W is extending my art school education, and I’m soooo grateful for it!!
That was absolutely fascinating!
I'd love to see more about Brooklyn! I know originally NYC was concentrated on and in Manhattan, but places like Greenwood have their own deep history and I'd love to know more about the neighborhoods around me.
I love this episode as much as the others!!! Love the history of New York!
Wow! I live in NY and had no clue...thank you for informing us!
I love his knowledge and breakdown on history. I find these videos so interesting 🩷
NYC and American history is the best. I could watch hours of this
So much history in 13 minutes. Great video
Wyetzer NY tour is always so calming 😊

It's like a chunk of Eden was picked up and placed in the middle of a fast-paced mega metropolis.
So glad you made mention of the Wappinger, all to often overlooked in NYC and the Hudson Valley. Thank you
So glad this channel was recommended to me. It’s so cool!
Yes please, a second part of this would be great. Exquisite piece.
Many thanks. I’ve visited the park twice, viewed many of the sites you shared, now feel I know much more.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this. I am a native New Yorker and had no clue about most of the facts discussed.
You guys have to do one on Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn. Maybe do one video combining that with Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
wyetzner never misses! fantastic video as usual
I never miss a tour! Love your videos! Thank you! 🍀
Love these videos!
Fantastic content, unbelievable production value, informative and entertaining ❤
Absolutely fascinating!
Could we get a... national tour... with Mr. Wyetzner, perhaps? :D
This gentleman is superb. More please!
The Boston Post Road ran along the Long Island sound until it reached central Connecticut where it turns inwards.
Following that article in the Times about how the Chrysler building has grown really shabby on the inside, a Wyeetzner video on that building would be really cool!
We love these videos. Best content on UA-cam. Wyetzner Private Tours?!?!

Just learned the entrances have names. 🤯

Mr. Wyetzner should review the architecture of different airports in the US (and elsewhere).
I just love these videos!
Would love to see a video on the history and architecture of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park
