In previous games, the AI would sneak and try to flank you, they move closer if they're using short-range weapons and stay distant if using rifles and snipers. They also weren't omniscient, they would lose sight of you and then slowly advance on your last known position to check, which made it possible to flank them and mess around, but now they track you through walls, throw grenades at your feet despite not being able to see you, and have the accuracy of a terminator.
on the contrary, there are multiple places when u encounter a controller, it will raise the dead as zombies, i have see couple of times, i think is the only way they do damage actually! lol

Controller design is implemented in a very dumb way. What I would expect from a psychic creature behavior is to always try to hide behind the corner and try to do mind tricks from safe hidden position in a coward manner. Ans as for mind tricks it should include not just some headache effects but also something like short friendly fire outrage, involuntary movement into anomalies or down from the cliff, running away out of sudden fear, inadequate laughing-stun out of madness and so on. I think designers could make that creature much deeper, right now it is really poor and basic monster with unrealized potential to my opinion.

A lot of amateur studios are abusing this, and are just creating entire games that are blueprinted instead of programmed, and that's why they're all CPU locked. Their games don't run on raw C++. They run on interpreted scripts that not supposed to be running your entire game. Insane levels of incompetence.

This AI is worse than the original trilogy, the NPCs were a nightmare here they are idiots, they don't take cover, they don't cross you, they don't stay still in one place waiting for you to come out like in the old installments. The chimera is pathetic, when one appeared in the old installments, if you didn't have a shotgun and a lot of ammo you were considered dead (attacks = jumping repeatedly mixed with a deadly claw that kills in 2 hits, it doesn't matter if you have power armor you die and that's it). The snork are also pathetic here in the original trilogy they were a nightmare and you shit your pants when they suddenly attacked you. That Poltergeist encounter... You have to find them, then fight them. In that encounter, it didn't really throw anything and was easily faced off by them.
I literally saw a random noontide solo a burer. I think the terrain picked for the match up is very difficult for us to compare. More open maps should be tested as well.

"All modern games" is the problem. Go back to the original trilogy and there's a stark contrast to how you see the enemies behaving in this game. Or you could go back even further to a game like Half Life 2, or even Halo 1... and see better AI than what's on display here. The combat AI in this game feels unfinished. Like half of their behaviors just aren't working or don't exist. They don't take cover, they don't work to flank enemies, they don't behave differently based on which weapon they're using, which doesn't seem to matter because they can still score hits with a shotgun at 500 yards just as easily as with a rifle... The human combat AI in this game does two things. Shoot weapon and throw grenade. And they were given perfect 100% accuracy for both. The AI sucks. Period. "But other games have bad AI too!" is not a valid defense.
I can forgive this AI for Stalker 2 developers because I spent 100 hrs in this game and with all the problems this game is more AAA compared with the other AAA high budget games that were released recently… So yes, I hope the devs of Stalker will get success and will make a better game. And you should stop whining or you can just go and play your gay Call of Duty/ Far Cry/Battlefield/*any shitty modern game*…. And as a person who completed Call of Pripyat I can say it is an old game and you probably won’t be able to play because it’s too old

Good lord, that pathing is a joke. For the most part, the mutants cant even choose who to attack because they get fucked up by too many targets. I bet when a player is around, the mutants will always target the player over targeting another bot, making it to where everyone is always attacking you if they are aware of you, regardless of other enemy factions being nearby. Just what I suspect based on what I've seen so far. I've seen other games with similarly bad pathing have that problem. I'm gonna wait a good while before I buy this.

I had no idea controllers could actively turn NPCs into zombies. That's pretty cool. Too bad it just never really does it.
