Remember kids: if you're going to murder someone in the Ace Attorney universe and pin it on someone, for the love of all that is holy make sure they aren't one of Maya Fey's favorite performers.
The next Ace Attorney game needs a case where Maya runs a popular blog and the victim is a celebrity she complained about on it, with the initial suspect being a Maya stan who insists on taking credit for the murder and saying "I did it for you, Mystic Mayaaaaa!"
Also, make sure they aren't Maya Fey herself. That doesn't work either.
He's rich and I'm guessing straight but in the closet about it. They might be easier on him.

I dig the pun in today's title, Steve. It's a shame that the game title is so long that you can't really read them without clicking on the video, though (depending on your UA-cam scaling)
I honestly paid the title no mind until you pointed it out. The pun is next-level
Something that bugged me a lot in this case when I played it and then watched a playthrough is how Phoenix treats Maya like a nuisance. They have their moments of poking fun at each other or where their personalities clash a bit but Big Top pushes it a bit too far at times. It's a shame too because the next case (won't spoil anything) hinges on how much Phoenix cares for Maya as his best friend.
There's a part in this investigation segment where Phoenix says something about being 'bossed around by a woman all day' which.. come on Nick, you're above Case 3 misogyny. I think that line was thankfully removed in remasters though
Maybe Phoenix is just grouchy because he hates this case too
yeah i gotta say even aside from the other... unfortunate character choices in this case, the writers had phoenix come on really strong with the misogyny and the sorta bro-y over-masculinity that feels pretty out of character when compared to most other cases in these games.

It begins. I'll give this case credit for having a unique defendant, where you don't really want to defend Max at first because he seems to be some self-centered jerk.
I don't know how "one set of footprints" leads to the conclusion of "The killer can fly!" and not the immediately more sensible "Someone with a similar shoe size to the victim came up behind him and retraced his steps," but that's what the cops are going with. Real geniuses, these guys.
Well these are the same cops that last case, despite knowing that mediums physically and mentally change into the spirits they’re channeling, having seen that in three previous cases of Maya channeling Mia during a trial, still decided to prosecute Maya for the murder of Dr. Grey
@@primemeowI don't think the cops knew that since it's not common knowledge. Fran only knew it by doing extensive research 🤔 but rest assured, there are some pretty ridiculous arrests in this series XD
There's a really good case deeply buried in this chapter, but the amount of bullshit that needs to be shovel off is too much.
That being said, this is a good intro to Max, yeah he sucks but it is funny and satisfying to see him being snapped back into reality. It gives the potential of someone who can get better, with some humbling.
I definitely don’t hate this case as much as most people do, but the “colourful” cast of characters does make it difficult to love. So excited to see Angel’s reaction progression, haha.
They set out to make them annoying, but forgot to add some charm.
This is how I feel about it. I though the case was "Fine, I Guess" but I get why so many people hate it. It's probably the worst original trilogy case, but I never thought it was objectively bad.
I think it’s kinda overhated, I didn’t really have any strong feeling about it and for a while didn’t know it was so hated.
@@Santoryu90 - I didn’t realize it is as hated as it is. I think it’s because it suffers from “middle-case syndrome” and that the characters really aren’t that likeable. They mostly range from grating to insufferable, and I found the resolution to not be that satisfying for all of the frustration that’s built up from interacting with unlikeable NPCs. It’s a recipe for disaster.
As I said, I don’t hate the case as much as other people, but I don’t deny wanting to get through it as fast as possible upon my last playthrough a couple months ago.

I dont think I remember if I've seen this case before, but if it's got a certain character in it... it's gonna be a _whirlwind_ of a case
This case has annoying characters, but Big Top generally doesn't bother me besides that.
All the same, Max is a _lousy_ defendant. The only reason I as a player want to defend him is because he's innocent of murder. In comparison:
Maggey is a genki girl who means well, even if she's....dumb.
Will Powers is a teddy bear.
Maya Fey is our bestie.
Edgeworth is our edgy boyfriend.
Lana Skye was also a difficult person, but we had Ema as the pathos linking us.
Heck, even Larry was just ostensibly Phoenix's good friend. Can you imagine being a defendent we're less motivated to defend than _Larry Butz?_
JUST like case 1-5, this case fills me with dread. can not wait.
Watching them go through this is going to be more fun than it is on it's own at least!

I'm surprised that we never get to see the two "country" characters, Lotta and Billy Bob interact in this case, though Lotta Hart shenanigans might have been the straw that breaks the circus camel's back.

Whenever I hear the name "Maximillian", I always think of Maximillian Zane from Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. Even though we never see his face, he's one of the most nostalgic video game characters for me because we can hear his commentary on channel 3 (Deep Space Jams) on the Space Radio. I used to listen to a lot of Deep Space Jams and Pirate Radio while flying through space and exploring moons.😊 At most, only two people in these comments may know what I'm talking about, but I just wanted to mention this.😅 Also fun fact: Maximillian Zane has the same voice actor as Lee from The Walking Dead☝

I gotta be honest I genuinely think Turnabout Bigtop is way too overhated , it's certainly not my favorite case by a long shot but I still liked it and consider it good

While I do agree with most of the hate that this case gets, I wouldn't personally call it the worst in the series like some people do. It's not good for obvious reasons, iykyk, but there are some redeeming qualities to it, and honestly, if those negative aspects were slightly changed, i don't think it would be nearly as bad as it is.

I'm trying to remember why this case is so hated, been like over a decade since I played it.
In my opinion it's because of the age of one of the important characters.
(Being vague for the sake of making sure no spoilers are given to anyone who reads the replies but hasn't seen/played the case.)
