They really did Kai wrong in the Olympia placings back then. I love Jay, but his physique in this one looks kinda boxy and flat compared to the flowing lines of Kai. The only thing Jay had more of was mass.
Exactly, and that title they give him in 2007 over Victor Martinez was a freebie as well.

In today's bodybuilding, Kai Greene would walk away with the Mr O title.....that's how far we've come. There's nobody anywhere near that level these days....

Can’t see how this could have gone either way. Kai won this Hands down. Jays lower lats started to melt, the entire physique started to look tired. Mid section was thick!

Jays phisique was not even close to his best versions, but condition was quite good.
@@TheLusianPopa Jay is lacking shape and detail so severely that I’d give him the loss here. His waist is so wide. His condition is harder than Kai but is really better? I don’t think so, if it is not by much. Kai hides his stomach pretty well in the SC and the ST doesn’t look too bad. Lunsford had more of a stomach this past Olympia in that pose than Kai here. I’m really surprised at how much of a mess Jay looks. His biceps are crazy though.

Both are wide with kinda flat pecs. Kai has thicker lower lats but Jay has supeiror delts traps

They are both flawed
A key thing you must understand is that the judges are constantly looking at them. Even though, technically they judge only the poses, subconsciently they also judge them when they relaxed or transition. Thats where Kais lack of condition really showed here.
As i see it Jay wins both lats spreads, side triceps for sure

kai is dominating.. maybe if was video comparison i could see what marx means, but in un biased picture comparisons, kai is DOMINATING literally every single pose. I cant see the bais marx has against kai, even if i try to pretend kias midsection looks bad.. Hes just ran away with it every single pose. Only a couple are worth debating really, but who won, is no competition, kai was on another level than jay here

One thing I'm always curious about. With as much importance delegated to symmetry as there is in bodybuilding, why are unsymmetrical abdominal muscles always excused, maybe even ignored?
Not just here, but this is a shining example. Look at Kai's abdominal muscles, and look at Jay's. One is symmetrical, one isn't. Yet no one seems to even care.
In the first still Jay's quads have much more feathering and his stomach is much tighter and harder than Kai's. Kai's stomach is slightly distended but the sweep on his legs is ridiculously good! Kai's arm are amazing and I am pretty sure Jay has a ton of Synthol in his left bicep. It's close but not a robbery, I believe Kai's mid section cost him. Not gonna lie, side chest Kai is killing him, but the you go to side tricep and in shape of midsection Kai blows it. From the back Kai's lower lat insertion give him a huge advantage, but Jay's traps are almost double Kai's size and he wins in conditioning. Abs and thigh is Jay all day. That quad shot is light out and his midsection hardness, and dryness is miles ahead of Kai. It was the right choice.

How they reward someone with a torn bicep, melted lower lats, messed up right quad and wrinkly lower abs is beyond. I'm glad he retired when he did, same with Dorian and based off of Big Rammys performance this year......hopefully he retires too.

2012 his waist was even tighter he streamlined and was peeled.
I prefer Kai, better flow from the front and he had a much better back. Jay is much wider even though Kai is wide as a house himself, but the lats create a greater taper. I also much prefer Kai's entire lower body. It's not a huge margin that kept Kai on top for this comparison, but it's there.

Not true, he did not lose every shot. He won the side chest and because his low lats he came close to winning the back double bicep. He only lost because Jay's traps are twice the size and Jay's conditioning was far better.
