Giving you an insight into all things BADMINTON! - Спорт
What do you guys find gets the most stiff after playing badminton? And let us know what you thought of the ending! 😆
Always my bum 🙉Funny ending!
Always my hamstrings! Loved the ending 😂😂
Actually my thighs pain a lot after a long session of training
The ending was funny
Hopefully the video was useful then! Glad you enjoyed the ending 😄
it is the next morning that I need support to get downstairs [the feet ache the most]
As for the ending, do it again, this time skip the lukewarm for ice water :) Btw. after tough games cold showers help, followed by stretching.
Thanks! Please do a full stretching video so that we can follow along ☺️
Great video, will be very helpful for when I get back playing! But I should probably also be doing them now too!! Like the cool down at the end, definitely needed after the weather we’ve had this week!
Thank you! 😄 Yes you can definitely benefit by doing these stretches at any time!
I suffered from a stiff lower back and calves, and the stretching helped a lot. Your shoulder strengthening exercises have already helped me overcome repeated shoulder pain after aggressive rallies.
I just wanted to say your youtube channel is filled with great quality content with great videography and editing, i have no doubt your channel will be a success. Thank you for the videos!
Wow, thank you so much! ☺️
Great editing and overall very informative video! Keep uploading and I’m sure the subscribers and views will start flowing in!
Thank you Joseph we really appreciate it! 😊
Great video. Really informative and helpful. Thanks guys.
John Smith thank you so much! 😄
Really it works....i do,,,thanks for making such kind of videos...🙏🏻🙏🏻
You guys are great! Every time I have a question about badminton it turns out you guys have a great video as an answer!! Thanks so much for putting in the time.
Also, sorry for your loss in the all England. I saw your video after and it was heartbreaking to see the disappointment in your faces. I hope you recover quickly and get back to kicking butt again!
Thanks for this.
Thanks for all your videos!
You’re very welcome 😃 Thanks for the support 🙌🏸
there were class great work
Very useful video guys!! Thank u ❣️
You’re welcome! Glad it helped 😀
Nice work guys ... It helped me alot🙏
Glad it helped! 😄
You guys gave helpful and useful ideas. Stay bless
Thank you so much 😊
Nice
Thank you😊
Glad you enjoyed it! 🤗
I've done a few irronman races and stopped them during the COVid pandemic and return to badminton . These stretches are really required to prevent lumbar & quads stiffness . Badminton is such a demanding sports
Wow great ! 3 in 1 works really well !
Thank you!! :)
Very nice video again and just about the right time: we´re back to training since two weeks and for the 1st time to my memory there are players that are asking (should I say screaming...) for a cooldown ! We´ll try those out this week apart probably from the happy ending...
I hope you can sleep tonight...and that you will still find the way to the hall tomorrow ....;-) Enjoy !!!
That is great to hear! Yes hopefully we remember the way, it has been so long! Thank you 😄
Nice Mam..
Nice Sir...
Thanks.
Very nice cool down stretching video. 🤗🤗
Please make video to improve stroke training doubles and mixed doubles
Thank you! We will be doing technical and tactical videos in the future for sure so watch out for them!
You guys are awesome
Thank you :D
Thanks, mate, appreciate the advice and illustration, but I ain’t doing that in public, but Thank you for the advice.
You're welcome! Why wouldn't you do it 'in public'?!
Nice video! Is it possible to make a video about stretches/warm-up exercices before starting a badminton session as well?
Thanks for the suggestion, this is something we will definitely do! 😊 This video we did has some reaction exercises which we do before matches, so this is something you could definitely use too! ua-cam.com/video/Fl_LHpfRiI8/v-deo.html
We now have a warm up video for you! ua-cam.com/video/ZEmtYFnxZtk/v-deo.html
Here in 23 loving the vid guys... looking forward to doing stretches outside too! 🤪🤣 the ending made me 🥶🥶🥶🤪
I'm learning too much🤗😊
Haha good 😄
I was looking for stretches for my come back and stumbled across a familiar face. Cheers for the advice Greg.
Glad it helped! 🤗
I really need some advice on forearm stretching...
Some other UA-cam channels are doing these exercises to warm down, may I know when to do these exercises before or after playing badminton??
That pigeon earned you a sub from me lol!!!
Haha 😆😂 Thank you so much!
I want to increase my overhead flexibility. Please suggest some exercises
Love the ending !!! Hahaha
Haha, some would argue not a 'technically correct' cool down 😆
Please, make a video on how to avoid elbow pain. I've been suffering from a month
Do you guys have a pdf - ebook downloadable with all stretches - cooldowns and strenght training?
We don’t for the stretching, but we have downloadable PDFs for 12 different badminton-specific weights programmes & circuits! You can check them out here - badminton-insight.com/badminton-specific-weights-programmes/
Thanks for these valuable tips. I have two questions.
a) How early should I do these stretching once I am done playing. Typically after playing I leave for home...should I be stretching before that, or should I do stretch after I freshened up?
b) Should I also be doing cold compressions to help recovery? If yes, then again when is a good time to do cold compressions?
I should do stretching before leaving for home
Can I do these stretches in between the gap of every game.
Stretching is super important and something I don't do enough so will be using these! I have always wondered why the pigeon stretch is called the pigeon stretch though since it looks nothing like a pigeon 🤔
Yes we also wish we did more regular stretching when we were younger! And we did actually try and research why it's called the pigeon stretch but didn't have any luck!
@@BadmintonInsight hahah its something I've always wondered but never been able to answer! Maybe one day eh?
Should we start with stretching excersies for the day or should we do at the end
Either is good but straight after exercise is probably best when your muscles are warm!
Nice👍. Best stretch, when Jenny threw water on Greg 😍
Haha 😆
With 1:11 I have a very sharp pain around my inner hip area(maybe a damaged joint?) - I've had pain doing this stretch there with only that leg for years. I hope it's possible to fix that!
Hopefully! Make sure you don't stretch through pain, just do what is comfortable for you! If the pain is persisting maybe see a physio or doctor?
@@BadmintonInsight Yeah might just need to do that, thanks. Doesn't seem to go away on its own, though I don't notice it during normal activities - just that stretch!
What's the time limit for each exercise?
How much time hold for each stretch n how much time in a week we should do this n r these stretches enough....pls rply
You should hold each stretch for 30-40 seconds. We suggest that you do these stretches daily. If you are feeling extra stiff in a certain area, then repeat that stretch
does the first stretch also stretch the IT bands?
It can do a little bit yes!
Which racket u are using
Greg is using the Victor Auraspeed 90K and I (Jenny) am using the Victor Thruster BXR! 🏸🔥
How old is the eldest player who can play actively? I am getting old but still love fast pace game.
Hi. Are these before the game or after
Hi Sion, we would mainly suggest doing stretches like these at the end of a game. You can however incorporate some dynamic stretches into your warm up before the game! We have shown these in our warm-up video which can be found here - ua-cam.com/video/ZEmtYFnxZtk/v-deo.html
4:32 Various online sources have all shown that when stretching the lats in the child's pose, they move their hands towards the side opposite of the lats being stretched. The fact that Greg doesn't here - is this a variation specific for badminton?
Answered on another comment 👍🏻
I play badminton for a disability team in Scotland should I need to take my theraband to tournaments before and after matches
Hi there, great to hear! Yes it could be a good idea :) Have you seen our video on exercises to do with a theraband?
@@BadmintonInsight yes I have seen the exercises absolutely brilliant videos thanks a lot
Can you please help me with badminton things
🙏
🏸😄
I come here everyday after my session to stretch along
How do you know I feel like this 😂 0:04
Stretch before or after playing?
both
play when 80 years old, why aim so low? :)
I have a fellow badmintoneer who is 94 [and he can move around the court... well, when he's my partner and opponents are tough he takes 1/4 of the court, the rest is mine...]
Wow 🔥💪
I'm the only one that does a warm up and cool down, yet I'm the only one that can't move for about 3 days, after. 😭🥺
No idea why. But I do move more dynamically than everyone else. That's my excuse. 🤔
Got a game today
Good luck!
Oh I always thought it was pretty good for the body not brutal like rugby
Not as brutal as Rugby but can still have an impact on the body for sure!
Greg so hot!!!
Also get yaself a Thumper massager :)
A massage gun?
@@BadmintonInsight yeah same thing - I have three of these around the house due to my badminton injuries lol
saved me loads on physio :)
I secretly look down on many other sports for being 'too soft', but even I don't think badminton is that brutal.
It is if you play properly! 😆
Bro play properly you’ll feel it 🥴😮💨
@@nethushar I tore my ATFL and CFL. Never fully recovered. Not the only injury, just the most recent. My friend does wrestling and he has every single type of injury I've ever had, and more.
Ironically every time I injured myself was because I lacked focus.
@@xyzcv5no such thing as a soft sport every sport has risk
@@BONNIE12YT disagree.
OMG, I'm 55 just getting back into the game after being away for 15 years. I'm still getting used to winning points without serving. Yeah, it's been THAT long.
Anyway, after playing, I walk like "old Greg" at the beginning of the video! I try to play like I'm 25 and it's just not possible - getting old sucks! lol
Your warm up and warm down vids are already helping. So glad I found this channel. 🏸🏸
