What is your favorite "Shrek version" of a character?? Mine is prbly Fairy Godmother
Pinocchio 😂
Big Bad Wolf. He's iconic with the grandma getup
Puss In Boots
Bro SAME. (Sorry if this shows up twice technical problems).
Puss in Boots. He's the best.
The best part will always be Jennifer Saunders singing "Holding Out for a Hero" while the giant Gingerbread Man walks around.
Beee gooood 😥😂
Rip mongo, and ngl I get those nostalgia tears building up once the credits play. That version of that song is also a bop
ICONIC however I wish they were flying on the dragon instead 😂
I'm ashamed to admit that while growing up i watched this movie several times, and several times as an adult. But I only now realized that the king used to be the frog prince.
It's legitimately the best version of that song 😂
I'm sure someone else has mentioned it but Puss is also voiced by Antonio Banderas. Who played Zorro in the Mask and Legend of movies.
I did noticed that.
He is also the voice of "Gato con botas" (Puss) in the spanish dub of Shrek :) amazing job on both languages.
@Riley Garraway I don't look at all their stuff so fair enough. It wasn't on here when I commented so figured I would mention it.
@@Neyenn Banderas is a Spanish actor who was a stage star in Spain's National Theatre, as well as starring in movies by Pedro Almodovar before he starred in Hollywood movies. Given that, no surprise he could voice "Gato con botas" in the Spanish version! But you probably already knew all that...
That's why he said in spanish 'cacho de carne con patas' it's an andalusian expression that can be translate something like 'piece of meat whith legs', to match with his origins 😊
Puss In Boots isn't just a reference to Zorro, he's played by Antonio Banderas, the same actor who played Zorro in the 1998 movie 'Mask Of Zorro'. If you guys haven't properly seen it, it'd be a great movie to react to. Tons of fun, lots of laughs, great music, great action, it's just a riot of a flick.
Love both Zorro movies with him and Katherine Zeta-Jones ♥
ADORE these movies. Not to mention we also get a dose of Sir Anthony Hopkins!
He's also a real fairy tale character
Mask of Zorro has one the hottest dance scene ever put on holly food adventure film. You could boil egg 10 feet from main characters during the dance scene
Also he made his own dub in the Spanish version of this movies
Fun fact: I saw an interview with Jennifer (Fairy Godmother) and she was terrified to sing Holding Out For a Hero. Understandable but unnecessary I think we can agree LOL. Hope y’all have fun watching this (sure you will 😂).
Well yeah, I mean it’s legendary
She did a nice job singing the remix. Also, it was Bonnie Tyler who originally wrote the song from the 80s.
"There is no rule that copy can`t rival the original"
@@whitenoisereacts Guys, for the love of all that is holy, skip the 3rd one.
@@GMDTurbo they’ve already done it haha but I’m sure you could skip the video if you need to hahaha
Fun fact - Julie Andrews (the Queen) and John Cleese (the King) recorded their scenes together, which is a super unusual practice in animated movies. Even though they're both British acting LEGENDS they had never met until day 1 of recording. They said it was immediately as though they'd been friends for years ❤❤❤
That's cool!
Wonder why they didn’t do that for Meyers and Murphy
@@skibot9974 It's usually a scheduling thing, especially with big stars who have crazy busy schedules. It's just easier to put them in a booth by themselves to record their lines.
JulieAndrews is a real life Queen! First Fiona’s mom and then her role in Princess Dairies
So basically what Puss is saying in spanish is something like "You damn piece of meat with legs, how dare you do this to me".
Great video as always!!!
THANK YOU Hahahaha
1) i just wanted to thank you, that is amazing
2) do you know (in this cursing sceen) if puss spoke a different language in the spanish version (i heard it was still Banderas)?
@@Cantmakeupmymindonaname yep. It was
@@Cantmakeupmymindonaname YES! It was still Banderas, (at least in the latinamerican version, I don't know about the spanish version) and Puss says the same line in this part of the movie
@@nohemiarellano5062 but what language was used for this line? Was it english to mix it up or was is the same language or another language
Literally everything about this movie is perfection incarnate! The universe building, Larry King as the Ugly Stepsister, the debut of Puss in Boots, the strong emotional core, and one of the greatest climaxes in animation!
Larry King did the voice for the Ugly stepsister didn't realize that 🤔.
@@CLDJ227 In the German dub the voice acting for her is done by the guy who was the voice actor of Bruce Willis.
YES! Holding out for a Hero was a great climax!
Fun fact: When Cameron Diaz was trying to do the burp for the dinner scene (aka faking it) she couldn’t really make it convincing. However, at some point recording other lines she actually *did* accidentally burp, and they ended up using that for the dinner scene instead.
they couldn't think of making her drink coke or any soda? 😭 that could've solved the trouble easily 😂😂
My favorite part about watching this movie again is catching all the frog prince foreshadowing. His bedroom having frog imagery, his first kiss with the queen being at the Lilly pond, the frog recognizing him
Same I didn’t realize that the first time!
Also telling Fiona "You'd be surprised how much I changed for your mother."
@@Wolf6119 oh I didn't catch that!
And the fact he fell in love with a woman named Lillian?
The prison scene with Pinocchio trying to say a lie only to be true was unexpectedly hilarious
I don't think they included it in the video, so to anyone watching, here's the context:
Pinocchio gets stuck on his way down to try and unlock Shrek and the others. Gingy slides down the strings to help with the unlocking. They want Pinocchio to tell a lie so his nose extends towards the lock on Shrek. Pinocchio can't think of something to say and so Donkey tells him to "Say something crazy" such as "I'm wearing ladies' undies." Pinocchio says that he's wearing ladies' undies, but his nose doesn't extend. Shrek questions "Are you?" and Pinocchio claims he's not, but his nose then starts to extend. Donkey says that Pinocchio certainly is, and Pinocchio responds "Am not," followed by his nose extending further. Puss asks "What kind?" and Gingy, looking at Pinocchio's pants, says "It's a thong." Then Pinocchio tries to claim that "they're briefs" and his nose extends further. Eventually Pinocchio's nose is long enough for Gingy to reach the lock.
"It's a thong!"
That scene was so iconic that Disney, either accidentally or on purpose, ripped it off in their live-action remake of Pinocchio. They changed the nose-growing scene so that he uses it to his advantage to grab a key. Which actually didn't make any sense in the context of the film's themes, but shows how influential Shrek has been on public perception of fairy tales.
Fun fact: "Sir Justin" actually voiced Arthur in the third shrek film.
Wasn’t that Jessie McCartney?
I'm not sure if y'all caught it but the king and queen's story is the frog prince. The queen talks about their first kiss down by the lily pond. Which would be where she kissed him as a frog and he turned into a man. That's what the fairy godmother was threatening him with and why he turned into a frog after the spell hit him.
Also, another hint was at the bar and a frog says "do i know you?"
I love this movie for all its references! Good reaction!
yeah!!!!
I don't think the queen kissed him to become a prince in this version of the story since she didn't know about him being a frog. Fairy Godmother changed him into a human so he can win her over.
Also there's a lot of green and lily pad decorations in their room! It's a fun detail haha
@@Sway22 there’s nothing that establishes that she didn’t know he was a frog, she wasn’t very surprised at the end. However she doesn’t know about his relation to the fairy god mother
@@allnightercinema It's literally what Fairy Godmother blackmails him with the entire movie. Turning him back to forg so his family realises what he was.
Also he confeses it to his wife at the end. She clearly didn't know.
23:56 "Hey you, piece of meat with legs. How you dare doing these to me?" Thats what the cat said in Spanish. Also Antonio Banderas did the voice in both languages, and he was to THE ZORRO in a previous movie. He basically brand the character at this point hahahaha
A couple of silly jokes you seemed to miss: later in the bar, when the Ugly Stepsister asks "why the long face", she was actually talking to Donkey, the horse! Then a few moments later when Puss says "I hate Mondays", that was a reference to another orange kitty in pop culture who used that as a catchphrase! 😉
How did I miss the Garfield reference...!
@@suvijii841 Same!
I hate that it took me 19 years to get the Garfield reference, lol
The Big Bad Wolf reading a Pork Illustrated magazine is soooo hilarious as an adult when you can actually get the joke 😭🤣
The Fairy Godmother is absolutely iconic and petty as well as being a fantastic subversion. Also, Prince Charming is the DEFINITION of Main Character Energy.
P.S. Shoutout to Dame Julie Andrews as the Queen. Her 2nd time, actually. #IYKYK
First time in animation though right?
Yess!! good someone said it, I'm always a little sad no one ever seems to realize or at least doesn't point it out when Julie is voicing a character bc it would be the first thing I'd notice and be thrilled about xD
What’s her FIRST time! Princess Diaries
Just for reference in the original Puss and Boots fairytale, he must face and help defeat an ogre which is why in this film they have him as the “ogre” slayer” for hire.
Also yes, Puss in Boots is voiced By Antonio Bandaras who played Zorro in the Legend of Zorro film with Anthony Hopkins and Cathrine Zeta Jones.
14:54 Puss in Boots is an Italian fairy tale about an anthropomorphic cat in boots who helps his poor master obtain wealth, riches and win the hand of princess. The Zorro reference is due to the character being voiced by Antonio Banderas.
Ok cool!!!
Interesting. I though it was German, but Italian origin in fact makes much more sense.
By defeating an ogre, which is why he's supposed to slay Shrek
Wasn't the original version French??
@@SobiTheRobot It is a folk tale, so the origin is hard to pinpoint. I believe it was written down by Basile (italian) earlier than the Perrault version though
"I don't know if this is the most dance-able song.."
**synth and backup chorus has entered the chat**
Nothing beats the Holding out for a Hero sequence! Jennifer Saunders didn't have to go so hard, but she did that for us 😭🙌
Yup
. One of the BEST cover ever!
That's always been my favorite Shrek movie 😅 I hope you guys saw the end credit scene with dragon and donkeys cute hybrid babies lol ❤️
The dronkies ♥
I still have the weird Shrek video game that was kind of like Smash Bros and it had the Dronkies as a playable choice.
@@joerexhausen8897 The Dronkies in that game were kinda OP ngl.
@@joerexhausen8897 You mean Shrek Super Smash?! I STILL HAVE IT AND MY PS2 LMAO I LOVE IT😊❤😂
It's amazing how long it took me to realize that Fionas parents are essentially the princess and the frog there's literally imagery of Lillian kissing Harold as a frog all over the castle💀
The White Bronco joke is an all-timer. I laughed hysterically when I was old enough to understand it 😂
What joke?
@@biancanencioni6279 28:35
In addition to the Shrek movies, there is a spin off about Puss in Boots that is about his origin story
It’s rare that a sequel tops the original, but for a lot of us this one totally did! The cleaner animation certainly didn’t hurt either. 😅
Toy Story 2 did it I think!
I don't know if anyone else has translated, but when Puss is yelling at donkey he's saying, "Hey you piece of meat with legs, how dare you do this to me"🤣🤣
I always loved that Fiona screams in terror at being human... she She likes being an Ogre she chose it ... and yeah any unexpected change is gonna be shocking but the way she reacts is the same way you'd react seeing yourself as a monster. it is the perfect proof Shrek was wrong thinking she wanted to be Human or him to be human and just good writing
I'm sure she's just shocked as she didn't expect to become human again.
@@mevb In good writing things like this always have a more important meaning
@@omalleycaboose5937I mean your theory is good. But it’s only a THEORY until we get proof from the writers. I like both human and ogre Fiona
Jennifer Saunders (the Fairy Godmother) is a well-known comedian in the UK. She usually appears as a double act with Dawn French (they're known as French & Saunders), who folks might recognise as the portrait of the fat lady from Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban. They also both appear in Coraline, as the actress neighbours Miss Spink & Miss Forcible.
It''s so cool that there were small details in the film that hinted at the fairy tale that the king and queen represented, that frog recognizing the king and the aesthetic of the couple's room being a lake
I always loved how Charming and his mom loved each other and it wasn't shallow.
Charming was a spoiled MAMAS BOY😂
Nice reaction guys! Little hint on Garold's "true nature" was given when he came to the bar searching for Shrek's "assassin", there was a frog asking if she saw him somewhere. Like they must have been in the same pond or something 😂😂😂
And the part where the queen mentions their first kiss by the lily pond!
Also the tapestries in the royal chambers are lily pads.
Between appearance, vocal inflection, and choice of venue, that frog gives the impression of a hooker.
This is an A* sequel IMO. One of my all time favourites. 😂👌 I gotta say Jennifer Saunders (Fairy Godmother) is my favourite part of this, she was brilliant. That unhinged ‘HIT IT!’ lives in my mind rent free LMAO. 💃
Shrek 2 is an AMAZING movie. Everything the first one did, this one does better. It even adds on to this world as a good sequel should. It introduces us to new characters and gives more development to the ones we already grew to love. Even the jokes are funnier. This is a very great movie and pretty much shows that DreamWorks is better at making sequels than Disney. It's too bad the third and fourth film couldn’t be this great.
I think the third one is cute and gets way too much hate, the fourth one is really good and emotional.
They sure did. But, I liked frozen 2.
@@RedRoseSeptember22 Ya I like the third one as well even though I consider it the weakest of them all.
Shrek 1-3 movies are good. I have yet to see the fourth one.
Yeah a sequel maybe, even though they fall short beyond that. But overall Disney/Pixar makes the best movies.
Yes you should watch them all! The third one it’s meh but something important does happen to Shrek and Fiona and Shrek 4 is super underrated and I love that film. it definitively ends the series in a strong note. Shrek 4 is worth a watch a reaction
Same here. For me it is 2-4-1 long pause 3. In fact I think 3 can be even skipped, but who knows, may be White Noise guys will like it.
@@jahu5440I would say skip it except for that important thing that happens. Otherwise they’d be like “Wait hold on, what?”
They arent gonna skip it anyways
This movie is soo good. Packed with so many references.
Still think my favourite is the introduction and fight between Shrek and Puss. First the purring from the trees like the Predator and then tearing through his shirt like a chest burster.
Also that Ser Justin joke is that Cameron Diaz was dating Timberlake at the time.
I've always loved the fact these movies focus on pretty deep messages.
Shrek 1 was I believe the first time I saw the message being switched from "I love you DESPITE your flaws" to "They are not flaws to me, I love you BECAUSE of them".
And the second one dives into the very real struggles on a relationship and being able to compromise and change for a person without letting go of who you are, but the openness to try is enough. Also believing yourself to be enough for your loved one instead of comparing to others.
Love these movies and your reactions as always are awesome to see. Keep it up!
Yah. The morals in these films are great
I saw this in theaters with my sisters and we couldn't stop laughing at how it breaks every fourth wall it can find!
It’s hard to top the first film, but Shrek 2 just nails it! The comedy is still great, the direction of the story is fresh and enjoyable, and the characters, very fun. I really like the first film, but the sequel is absolutely fantastic! Really deserves all the praise it’s received.🙂
This is definitely one of the best animated sequels!
Aye Timothee
Timothee, nice to see you enjoyed this channel
There are four Shrek movies and the Puss in Boots movie. I am kind of hoping you do all of them lol Even if you watch on your own time. Also, please tell me you guys saw the Donkey-Dragon babies in the end credits! It explains why Donkey said she was "acting all moody lately" and they are weirdly cute.
We plan to!!!
Shrek 2 really is a incredible sequel, and Puss in boots himself is the cutest and most adorable fluffy kitty cat i have ever seen.
This voice cast is impeccable-John Cleese, Julie Andrews, Jennifer Saunders etc…AMAZING
This is honestly my favorite Shrek film out of all four! I’m guessing you missed the end credits scene where it was revealed that Dragon was actually pregnant which explained her moodiness. She gave birth to some dronkies, dragon-donkey hybrids. Also fun fact, Antonio Banderas who voiced Puss in Boots did actually played Zorro in the original 90s film The Mask of Zorro and its sequel The Legend of Zorro which I highly recommend for you to check out. The story of Harold is that he was the frog who fell in love with Lillian who was a princess. He made a deal with the Fairy Godmother if she helped him get his happily ever after he would have his child and hers married and made the future rulers of Far Far Away. However there is a theory that Fairy Godmother was the one who placed the curse on Fiona to ensure that Charming would be the only one who could break the curse. Also in the original draft of Shrek 2, Dragon’s original name was revealed to be Elizabeth.
👹👩🏻🦰👸🏼🤴🏼🧚🏻♀️🍄🌹✨💚
The authors/directors made a statement saying that dragons counterpart was to be a pink Pegasus, but they couldnt find a way to put her into the movie seamlessly
You really should have watched the mid credit (or was it post credit?) scene. It explains dragons absence and has an adorable and funny surprise
This movie is literally a thing of legend. Everyone knows the story of (arguably) the most successful sequel in movie history
I definitely think you guys should watch the rest of the Shrek movies! The third one is actually pretty good and the 4th is super underrated! Also the stand alone puss in boots is quite good!
The Holding Out for a Hero scene will forever be my favorite.
Me too.
Fun fact! Dragon was going to be more present in this movie but was cut (for time I believe.) Since Donkey was potioned and Dragon is his true love she changed too, into a pink pegasus.
Guys, I want to point out that the director of the first two Shrek films, Andrew Adamson, also shot the first two parts of the Chronicles of Narnia. I'm still surprised by the talent, sense of proportion and taste of this man, and I still don't understand why he failed to develop a personal brand of the author, like Pete Docter and Brad Bird from Pixar. Unfortunately, after the Chronicles of Narnia, he stopped making big animation or movies.
Fun fact he's actually my aunties ex and my cousins dad
Used to stay at one of their houses on vacation
For the UK release, the Ugly Stepsister at the bar was voiced by Jonathan Ross, a TV host over here who does the same sort of chat show Larry King did.
*Time for the weekly shrek infodump*. I'd like to point out (some of) the many references, because this movie is PACKED with it. So here, a non comprehensive list of references you might have missed:
・all the elements in the Fairy godmother's song reference classic Disney Princesses, from the talking furniture (beauty and the beast) to the tailor-mice (cinderella), the song itself is just mocking disney musical acts. Ariel is also referenced in the beach picnic scene, the sleeping beauty falls out of her carriage at the red carpet... Basically it's never a flattering portrayal (Katzenberg takes every chance he got to shit on Disney)
・When Puss rips shrek's shirt apart from the inside making it seem like he's emerging from shrek's belly, that's an alien reference
・ Donkey says "my donkey-senses are tingling all over" (about the potion) which is a reference to spiderman's "spider-sense"
・the lady commenting the red carpet is an actual comedian who used to comment fashion events, young Joan Rivers
・the big gingerbread man is obviously a Godzilla reference, and that same scene you can see people exiting a Starbucks screaming just to run to another Starbucks across the street 💀
・Puss draws a P on a tree with his sword as he introduces himself, which is a Zorro reference (who usually leaves Zs). Antonio Banderas, who voices Puss, also played, among others, Zorro
Fiona and Shrek's Kiss when he's upside down, and she cleans the mud from his moouth is also a spiderman reference
@@tofu8337 true! I left out few very obvious ones, like also the ring but this one is one of my favourites
Love this movie. Definitely better then the first which, as everyone already knows, isn't usual with sequels. Puss is so cute, all the jokes land perfectly, the storyline is more interesting & your right that despite all the paradies the animation is actually beautiful (yes to you noticing Fiona's freckles coz nobody else seems to & i thought it was such a nice detail).
I like Julie Andrews in this movie. She was a perfect queen Lilian.
That’s cus she’s a QUEEN in real life,
. She was also in Princess Diaries
Guys!!!! No you have to watch the clip after the end credits!!! You have a sing along and dragon comes to see donkey and she had little hybrid babies that are the cutest thing ever! That’s why she was moody!
I still love the theory that Fairy Godmother is the one responsible for cursing Fiona as a scheme to have her fall in love with and marry Prince Charming when they're older. And also used the scheme as a threat against King Harold since they made a deal to turn him into a human so he could get his happy ending, as he's the Frog Prince. It makes so much sense since Fairy Godmother is depicted as a dictator of "Happy Ever Afters"
I love the conversation that takes place after Donkey drinks the potion. It's just so funny.
Shrek: Well, how do ya feel?
Donkey: I don't....feel any different. I look any different?
Puss: You still look like an ass to me.
(Donkey gives Puss a "Boy, shut up" look)
😂😂🤣🤣
What I love about all the Shrek movies is the attention to detail, like you could watch it a million times and every time you'd notice something you probably missed. I recently noticed how they subtly hinted that the king was actually the frog from the princess and the frog
Jennifer Saunders were auditioning for the role as Ursula in The Little Mermaid, but the directors thought she wasn't manipulative enough, so she did that when auditioned for Fairy Godmother and got the part.
Similarly, Rupert Everett auditioned for Gaston in Beauty and the Beast but was told he weren't arrogant enough so he used this advice for Prince Charming and were casted.
love these films so much even now I'm older! FYI? The ''Sir Justin?'' Yes, you're right, Justin Timberlake, but he and Cameron Diaz, of course, Fiona, were dating at the time...
Puss saying "I hate mondays!" is a reference to Garfield who also is a orange tabby cat and hates mondays. Fittingly, in Shrek Forever After he becomes fat and lazy, another parallel to Garfield.
Donkey’s “I’m and ogre. Ahhhhhhhh!” It’s hilarious
23:55 Puss is saying "How dare you do this to me you four legged bag of meat."
The lady at the red carpet with the “microphone” was Joan Rivers. In the 90s and 2000s, Joan would interview celebrities on the red carpets of award shows!
Rough translation to what Puss said when he fell off Donkey ""Hey you!, piece of meat with legs, How dare you do this to me?"" You might have missed the few clues, but remember the female frog asking if she knows the king when he went to go find Puss the first time? Another clue :)
I LOVE how you guys were dying in laughter during the Knights/Cops scene.
I was 8 years old when Shrek 2 was released and I saw it twice in theaters (first time with one of my uncles, second time with my god-mother). I recall vividly everyone in the theater just having a blast. Every adult lost it at the "Catnip" joke. At the time, I didn't understand why and I was a little curious. Never asked my uncle or god-mother about it either. Years later, I finally understand why.🤣🤣
I still break into a tear just from laughing so hard. Its my favorite comedic/parody scene in the whole film.
I really loved this movie, it was hilarious! Shrek's human form is so cute and handsome, I think it showed what he actually is like on the inside, in a way. I'll take any version of Shrek any day, over Prince charming 🤢!! Thanks guys for a great reaction. 😘
Mongo walking towards the castle with "I need a hero" playing in the background is the most epic scene in all animated films ever
I always felt that this movie was more for adults, who knew they would have to watch it with their kids 800 times.
What I love about this movie, is that for a kid's movie it handles the themes incredibly maturely. Like this is some real family drama that a lot of adults still deal with when meeting parents or feeling disliked. It's insane. And the plot is simple yet has intricately woven factors unlike most kids movies.
I still can't believe "We need to get you out of those clothes" flew over my head as a kid.
23:55 Puss is saying “Hey you piece of meat with legs how dare you do this to me!” I always giggle at that part. 😂
Shrek 2 is my favourite of all Shrek movies and I really love the brilliant fairytail parodies they come up with in each movie.
I hope you watched the after credit scene? It's a cute little extra and an explanation for something donkey said in the beginning ;)
So basically what Puss in boots said was something like "Hey you piece of meat with legs!, How dare you doing that to me?!"
Always love you´re reactions guys
Nothing cracks me up more than the catnip joke for Puss n boots. Cause my god it's clever as hell.
Did you see when Donkey saw his kids?
Holding out for a hero was the ANTHEM of my childhood when this came out 😍😍😍 such an incredible movie 🙌🏽
I like to think Dragon didn’t change at all when Donkey drank the potion because she was already beautiful :)
There’s a theory she turned into a pink pegasus
@@fightingfaeriethat wasn't a theory, that's what the actual creators said so people won't be confused on what did dragon turn into
@@lwrider10andhisstuff52 Then it would have been wild if they had little Pegasus babies instead of mutant hybrid ones
@@wendydanielle3476 that is true, that would be wild lol 😆
31:19 Since Shrek 2 always, always that song. Every time I hear it I think of this movie and the epic scene with the giant man storming the castle!
Just one of the best animated films ever.... quite literally, I can't fault it... perfect from start to finish..
Puss in boots was originally supposed to be an English character but Antonio banderas did such a good job they made him Spanish. Also part of the audition was to act out the hairball part and he said when we was going through the lines that his cat came in the room and did a hairball so he just replicated that.

"Hey, you piece of meat with legs! How dare you do this to me!?"
I honestly think this is the best out of the 4 main movies in this franchise. If for no other reason than Fairy Godmother being the most entertaining villain in the series. And I know I'm in the minority here, but I really liked the Puss in Boots spinoff movie. Mainly as a guilty pleasure.
The fact that the parents are a representation of the Fairytale princess and the frog goes over a lot of people's heads
Tom Waits singing as Captain Hook is a wonderful moment in this film.
Not sure if you knew this or not but this film did come with an end-credits scene. Did you get a chance to watch it?
If you guys have a DVD version, you should watch the singing competition with all the characters in special features. Iconic
23:56 he's saying "hey you piece of meat with legs! how dare you do this to me?" but the funniest thing is the way he's saying it XD
also you guys theres a scene after the credits!
For anyone wondering what Dragon turned into when Donkey drank the Forever After Potion, she became a Pegasus. It has been comfirmed by the directors in the audio commentaty.
This is THE perfect sequel in my opinion
"we need flour" is a reference to matrixs we need guns, lots of guns. Honestly theres gotta be like 50 clever references in this movie
Unironically one of the top 10 best movies ever made. It's a masterpiece in every way. I watched the Shrek movies all the time as a kid, especially this one. I really like the 3rd one too, it gets a lot of hate but I think it's really good. The 4th one I think I'd appreciate more today since it's a lot darker and maybe I didn't like that as a kid. Also am I the only one who remember that Shrek Christmas short film??? I've heard a Shrek 5 will come out soon, that's crazy. So excited. This reaction was funny as hell, you guys are great.
The first movie they were setting up the Upside down fairy tale. This one they got to really spread their wings and go full throttle into the parody
Definitely continue the series I feel like you guys would enjoy shrek 3 and 4 as well😁
23:57 Puss: "Ey, you, you piece of meat with legs! How dare you do this to me?!"
I will continue to believe that fairy godmother set this all up from the beginning and was the one who placed the curse on Fiona all so she could set up her son with the princess and make him king.
I will also continue to believe that off screen while donkey was a white horse, dragon was a pink Pegasus. That was the original intention after all.
oh damn, i just realized at 12:05 the frog asks King Harold if she knows him and he says she must be mistaken , which is a reference to his past as The Frog Prince. ALSO the queen said that Shrek and Fiona are like they were when they were young and talks about how they went to the pond when the Lily pads were in bloom. Thats all frog behaviour .
Puss in Boots is so adorable 🥺 and Donkey making that popping sound gets me everytime lmao. 💕
I cant believe you guys left out the cute ending scene with Donkey and Dragon! Also, fun fact, since Donkey took the potion that means that Dragon got transformed too! She was turned into a Pegasus (a horse with wings)
The sequel is really on point. Donkey is still hilarious, with more actions, great songs, and funny moments. "I need a hero" by Jennifer Saunders is my favorite song
🎵🎵🎵🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
28:12 the reference in question is Joan Rivers, a comedian who was known for absurdly roasting celebrities at red carpet events. She’s voicing herself in the movie too !!
