    Qiang wang is a real beast. Winning so many matches against tough players

  • @egtplays

    Wang Qiang is a future star. Today was just too much for her since she has played so many matches in a short amount of time.
    Wozniacki and Wang are kind of similar players in a way but Woz is so tough to beat, some of the shots you think Wang won but Wozniacki got to was unbelievable.
    Getting past wozniacki is like climbing a big mountain and you can fall down at anytime and unfortunately, Wang fell down, but she'll get back up there once she has a lot of rest and treatment, but now she's playing in Hong Kong in like a days time. I would like for her to miss this tournament and play in Zhuhai on 30th instead.
    Congratulations to Wozniacki, I think she'll win it.

      Isn't Wang Qiang 26? She's had a great tournament, but is that the basis of future stardom? Certainly players have come into their own late in careers, and I like her game, so I'm honestly asking if you think there is a longer trend rather than a one-off performance (I don't follow her in enough detail to know.) I would disagree that they have similar styles, though. Qiang takes more risk than Wozniacki, relies more on power, don't you think?

    • @egtplays
      @egtplays 5 років тому +3

      Yes she's 26! However, she's started to really get into her element. It's not just this tournament, she's already won 2 titles (which are her first ever titles), got to two semi finals and won the Asia games this year. It wasn't so long ago when she was in 70's world rankings just this year and now she is number 24 after today which is her personal highest. Her tennis has improved so much and yes, even though she's not a young player, she is in the best stages of her career, but I think that's also down to her coach as well, he's got her playing much better. I really hope that she can do well outside of China though because I can see a top 10 player in her.
      Yes that is true.

      Kerber started to show good forms relatively late too, so are the Italian girls, Errani, Vinci, Schiavone, and Pennetta. Different players peak at different times. Wang and Wozniacki are similar in the sense that they both counter punch well and neither possess crispy flat shots like Keys, Sabalenka, Sharapova, or Li Na.

    After a run of poor form Wozniacki has won more matches this week than in the last three months. She is the favourite to win the final though I would not underestimate Sevastova who is also a great counter puncher just like Caroline herself. May the best player win. Good luck to both in the final

    Ok Wang has to be completely exhausted. But wow. She's no fluke. She's got game and she's gonna make some noise. Her game reminds me a little bit of Li Na, and I LOVED her. Hopefully I will love Wang. Haha I do love wang, let's be real. But seriously, it's pretty exciting to see another Chinese player who could possibly contend for Slams. I hear the popularity of tennis is exploding in China. Us Americans better get serious about promoting tennis if we want to compete lol.

    I think this Wang girl will be the next Asian champion like Naomi Osaka, they both have powerful groundstrokes and amazing court coverage, she hits the ball a la Kim Clijsters, her footwork is like that of Simona Halep. But Wozniacki had to impose her authority and Wang had a difficult time coping with the former world number 1.

    Honestly it's not true to conclude that Wozniacki is a pusher~~ It's true that her forehand is lack of power, but she made it up with a lethal backhand and good placement shot as well~~ Moreover having such sturdiness and stability to stay in rally is never an easy job~~ As a tennis fans I thought we have to appreciate every kind of game style~~ I am quite sure tennis will be boring with just power game dominating over the tour

    Wang appears to be a very similar player to Wozniacki, but I don't think Wang had time to 'catch her breath' after a swag of back to back matches which would be very tiring and it was obvious she was not in her usual form here and that's what happens when you are pushed to the limit, you start to miss things and the pattern can continue. Its called BURNT OUT!!!! People are not robots, they need rest to recover after gruelling physical and mental challenges. If this match had have been played tonight or tomorrow instead of yesterday, despite Wozniacki's level of skill, I think it may have been a very different story because that little bit of extra recovery time can make all the difference and give you a chance to recharge your batteries. Don't worry Wang, you'll make up for it in HK! I still put money on you last night but that's ok, you've won me enough for one week!! Hong Kong watch out! Typhoon Wang is on her way!

    Wang is a complete tennis-player at technique and even a resistent runner through the field.
    The real shame for the tennis is that she lacks two things:
    1: She lacks of power, effectively her shots are powerless and you can see her balls fly slowly especially after the first set if compared to Caroline's ones. This gap of power has forced her to lose quickly against a fresh and powerful Yastremska in the final of the tournament.
    2: She loses her moral and her confidence when the match is developing bad for her, and she starts to play without temper.

      No because she has won 2 titles, so that's not exactly just semi finals is it? She played so many matches, the first semi final she was in at the tournament before this one, she had to retire, but then she had a little bit of a breather since she had a bye in this tournament, but it still all caught up to her in the end.
      It also looks like she isn't going to get much of a break still as well since she is playing in Hong Kong in about 1 days time against a fellow Chinese player.
      There is also the fact that playing Wozniacki would exhaust her even more.

    Wang is just a mediocre typical WTA player. Bad serve, maybe a bit more consistent in rallies thats why she did what she did the past month. I think Sabalenka deserved more to be in this semi and would demolish Wozniacki... Cant see why all these people perceive Wang as a future star, I'd rather go with Sabalenka and Osaka that actually bring something different to WTA that is power and explosiveness ( even though they both lost today )

      @egtplays 5 років тому +5

      You obviously don't follow her. She's is not a mediocre typical player. Yes, she needs to work on her serve but she's definitely not a mediocre player. Get your facts right.
      Both Sabalenka and Osaka would have probably lost to Wozniacki today as well, don't think that everyone can beat Wozniacki because after all she is number 2 in the world and she is a pusher in the game.
      Plus I believe Wang played about 19 matches in 26 days which is absolutely mental and one of the reasons why she lost quite easy against a world class player like Wozniacki.

    • @0mik3mik3
      @0mik3mik3 5 років тому +13

      I don't get why people can't support their idols without bashing other players. This is coming from a huge Sabalenka fan who also thinks that she would have had big chances against Wozniacki. But come on, Wang played beautiful tennis in the match against Aryna.
