So, ive been watching a lot of these videos from you guys while working on my 2003 edge plus, ext. cab RWD. You guys are so smart. Im literally about to start sourcing from 1A because you guys have gone so far out of tour way to make a video that ONLY contains information. No skipping, searching, wasting time on filler. 10/10
The video was straight forward. Just swapped the filter on an '01 Mazda B4000. A few things I found that may help someone else who finds this: - No relay in fuse panel, remove fuse indicated in manual instead. - Front outlet had same type clip as two rear connections - press rather than raise tab. - Had no need to remove the bracket. Old filter popped out and the replacement fit back in its place. Cheers!
I always know when I have a question about doing Maintenance on my Ranger if I see you guys giving a demo I know it will be concise and to the point. I did my 2011 Ranger Fuel Filter 3 years ago and your video here was just what I remember!...Keep up the great work!
Awesome video! By far, 3X as professional as any of the other similar Ranger fuel filter videos. Was a mechanic 35+ years ago and your method of priming the new fuel filter/intake system (by turning the system on, not starting it, 3 times) was impressive. Always used to just let it crank until it started - and I can now only guess at the damage I probably caused back then. None of the other Ranger fuel filter videos even mentioned priming the system before starting. Again, an awesome video produced by true automotive professionals. The only suggestion I would even make would be to use a specialty Ford "quick disconnect" tool (most of the major tool companies sell them). Using same did make the removal of the three (3) quick disconnect retaining clips on the fuel lines much easier than using a screwdriver and/or specialty pliers. Nonetheless, I don't mean to take anything away from this being the best instructional video for anyone changing a fuel filter on a Ford Ranger (in my case, a 2009 Ford Ranger 4dr XLT 2WD 4.0L V6). Bravo!
Had my 01 Ranger for a few months. I have never heard it start like this before now that I got your new product in! It’s officially a 1 cranker. Wow Can’t go wrong with a $70 pump, hopefully it actually lasts, I’m trusting your “Trusted Reliable Quality” label. I’m hoping it’s not too cheap Chinese because I can’t go and drop my tank again. Video looked easy since yours didn’t have 21 years of rust and dirt buildup on everything. Thank you for this!
I'm lucky enough to have almost identical truck, 2001 Edge 2wd, these great videos make repairs/replacement easier! I would buy from them but I'm in Canada!
Very Helpful and Point to Point Clear to understand instructions .... Was perfect to refresh my memory on changing my Fuel filter on my 2009 Ford Ranger .... Thank you Gentlemen for a A-1 instructional video Cheers from Canada, Ontario

50B is probably a totally different relay on your specific model, google 'yourmakemodelyear fuel pump relay' or 'yourmakemodelyear fuse box diagram' to double-check.
My 1999 ford ranger xlt 4x4 does not have the external clips to release the filter from the hose...Any suggestion for removing (e.g. hose clip release tool) . One side is really stubborn.
Great video! Quick question about draining the fuel lines - Does my truck need to be empty or near empty to do this? Can I be at say, half tank, and still remove relay to drain fuel lines? My understanding is that gas can still be in the tank, and all removing the relay does is deactivate the vehicles ability to pump from it. Sorry - I'm a new DIYer!
+Jacob Gorski This will help release all of the pressure in the fuel lines, with the relay still installed the vehicle would not allow this to happen. 1aauto.com
What if you ask a friend to change it for you and in the process breaks one of the tabs to keep in place and uses a hose clamp instead. Can and will this cause any issues?
Ok right from the start you telk me this covers my vehicle and gurss what? It doesn't. This happens so often with you guys that im just not even watching any more of your videos. I dont know what the issue is and i really dobt care at this point but i have a 1998 ford ranger 3.0 4wd automatic rear abs vin V flex fuel cali emissions, torsion bar suspension. My fuse panel looks nothing like that
Why can't u say location in terms of driver or passenger side not everybody knows transfer case most don't know my daughter's friends do lots of their maint but with dumb location instructions they would not know very poor video from a great company

And no crappy "music" made by computers.
Exactly!
That is the truth!!! No music that’s louder than the audio. Nothing irritates me more than that!

my '99 2WD Ranger doesn't have tabs on the connector. I assume I'll have to use a filter removal tool?
Once again and awesome video! Love this guy! Thanks for taking the time and making such high quality videos! Much appreciated.

Thanks!
Honestly this company is a little more expensive but I buy from them because these videos

I changed mine today, thanks for the tips.
Bryan Bates did you do yours on an almost empty tank of gas?
@@rednecknico1781 mine was like 3/4 full and it was the worst thing ever
My outlet connector tab is a depression. I broke it trying to pull it up? Any advice on repairing that?
Title: 1998 - 2012 ford rangers.
Video: "this information pertains to vehicles produced before may 2001"
+sasukedemon8 Good catch! 1aauto.com

How long should it take to stall out? Mines been running ten minutes without stalling
Same with mine! Idk why
50B is probably a totally different relay on your specific model, google 'yourmakemodelyear fuel pump relay' or 'yourmakemodelyear fuse box diagram' to double-check.
It's relay 46A on mine (05 Ranger 2.3L). Check the owner's guide.
My 1999 ford ranger xlt 4x4 does not have the external clips to release the filter from the hose...Any suggestion for removing (e.g. hose clip release tool) . One side is really stubborn.
+Raddfighter Yes, use a hose clip release tool, try some rust penetrant. Otherwise, be patient and keep working at it.

I have a 2001 Ford ranger and I am trying to replace the fuel filter it’s a very simple process yes but which side is it on because it’s hard to tell
I doubt you still are having issues, but its on the driver side
Awesome instructional video! Thank you!
+Brent Tanner Thanks for watching. Like us on Facebook at facebook.com/1AAuto/
Is it absolutely necessary to remove that fuse before swapping the filter?
+Jacob Gorski This will help release all of the pressure in the fuel lines, with the relay still installed the vehicle would not allow this to happen. 1aauto.com
Agreed!
What if you ask a friend to change it for you and in the process breaks one of the tabs to keep in place and uses a hose clamp instead. Can and will this cause any issues?
😂😂😂a 'friend'
Changed my fuel filter on my 03 ranger now have hard start issues runs good when started but hard start any clues?
I have a 2001 four cylinder Ranger. Would the process be the same?
Yep
just replaces fuel filter in 01 ranger. 94k miles the back drain was grose. thanks for video
On 2003 Ford ranger 3.0 the outlet disconnect is also a push tab... NOT A PULL like shown in the video.
Excellent video better than the one I just watched
I have a 07 ford ranger are all the fuel lines rubber or flexible
+stoney renegade Thanks for the tip!
Great video thank you so much
Mine does even budge with the tab depressed. The outlet comes off easy but the other two don’t at all
Ikr
What is the orange and the green Tabs are switched??? That's how they were on mine
Can you guys help me out with a 2008 Kia Spectra Ex 2.0L DOHC Fuel Filtet location and replacement.
Good video..... but I wear safety glasses, nothing like gas shooting in the eye....lol
+James Stahl Thank you for your feedback!
I learned the hard way to get some earplugs in too. Nothing more painful than gas in the ear.
yes there is nothing better 😅
Nice job
great video. good job ,thank's.
is this on driver or passenger side?
+David Thomas Thank you for checking us out. This appears to be on the driver side. 1aauto.com
Driver side
I still don't know what fuse to remove. I have a 99 ford ranger xlt 4.0L
What if you don’t have a 50a relay?
HAHA, got a GMC ad on this ford video.
You explain this pertains to vehicles manufactured before May of 2001 yet the title says 98-12 rangers.
Awesome!! Thank you for the video
