I normally like to use 2 bears (axes), one full healer with a bow (crossbows are useless for my liking) and two focused on damage tanks (with 2h weapons, max damage) per battle. This setup doesn't use any potions (only for emergencies). I attack with a beastmaster (while having a bear next to him), then bear attacks with increased damage, then back to human to finish those pesky thugs off. Bears soak the damage and keep the aggro very well.

He got nerfed, pre nerf he has 16 armour that refreshed every turn, did more damage, and reinforcements had 5+ armour and 50/60 health each. Pre nerf you basically couldn't do any damage to him.
Jesus that's wild. Certainly glad we messed around in Chapter 4 for a bit longer then just so that patch came in, as that sounds pretty game breaking..
