I'm on ios18, 13 Pro Max here. Noticed that my it only had a difference of 5% in battery life. The responsiveness i can tell is a little bit slower but anything is good and stable (except for thise known bugs) Staying on ios18
I got iOS 18 on my iPhone 14 Pro and I noticed that I have a very faint apple logo burnt in on my screen. And the battery has gotten significantly worse since I updated
Apple has had a long history of not releasing or delaying features to markets outside the US, which has been my biggest frustration with them. EU is being used as an excuse this time but will be interesting to see if they delay it in other non-EU too

Hi, just got a really bad bug on my iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 18 Beta. The phone started to heat up really bad and kept crashing until I factoy-reset it. It happened to my friend too running the same version on an iPhone 14 Pro.
I don’t know about anyone else, but my AirPods Pro 2. They don’t sound as loud as they did an iOS 17. I even forgot the device and repaired them still sounds the same, but I haven’t tried the beta yet for AirPods Pro. Anyone else having the same issue? The music just doesn’t sound as loud. I have to turn the volume up more to hear it better the music it’s much less louder than iOS 17 🤷♂️

Hii everyone ! I have a wired problem with my iPhone 15 plus, where I can see the top icons (battery, WiFi, cellular) “burned” and after few seconds it’s gone ! Especially it’s happening when its on dark mode on and as well as the home bar. I don’t know if this is software related or not, but it is quite weird :/ I went to service centre they took my phone for 1 week for observation and checking but after a week they returned my device saying there’s no problems but it’s there! More over it’s showing in dark mode !!! Any other iPhone user facing this issue??
I’m loving iOS18 but just like ios17 betas it introduced the voice assistant bug when I connect car play. Screen shows voice assistant is listening and I have to activate Siri and say “cancel” to use any steering wheel controls every single time.
Control Center new Connectivity Bundle of Airplane mode, Cell service, Bluetooth, etc NEEDS to be customizable. I NEVER use Airdrop but FREQUENTLY use Bluetooth. I want to put Bluetooth on the bundle instead of airdrop.
So far, I find the new features gimicky. Hopefully something more useful is implemented. Such useful things are using AI to write email, check grammar, recognize gramarical mistakes at the moment of writing. Others, such as screening my calls is another useful thing. So far, I haven't seen anything Samsung doesn't do better. I swap between my two phones but always end up going back to the Samsung. It is now obvious why Apple stopped using physical SIM cards. They want to make it more difficult to swap between Android and your iPhone. Every time I want to go back to swap between the two, I have to speak with AT&T customer service. Apple is quite controling and deceptive. I wouldn't place any weight upon their explanation why this that and the other doesn't or won't work. It is all conceited. This comes from someone who uses both operating systems.

I have two requests and that is, could you do a battery drain test on the new 11 inch iPad Pro and iPad Air, maybe also with the iPhone 15 Pro. The second request has to do with all the keyboards, I have the M1 Pro 14 inch, and the keyboard gets a shine over time, not slowly like older Macbooks, but extremely fast. Here in the EU there is a law that says that if a product shows a defect/problem that is not made aware before hand and you could not have known you can get it fixed and if it cannot be fixed in a durable way you can get your purchase price back. As an example the iPhone 15 Pro gets fingerprints and this is addressed, so as a consumer you know what to expect and you can adjust knowing what will happen, however this is not the case for the shine on the keycaps. The wear on the keycaps does not fall in the "durable" way Apple showing to the outer world. So, I went back to the store and want to get it fixed with durable keycaps, however it is not the Apple way and was send to a liaison and the issue is subverted. Apple will not acknowledge the issue . The request is can you make a small video addressing this issue, because sinds the release of the M1 MacBooks a lot more people are complaining about this and ua-cam.com/video/yDccCQEYWSQ/v-deo.html has talked about it. The more people will make use of this law means that Apple has to adjust their ways. kind regards
So far iOS 17.6 beta 1 is performing surprisingly well. My only issues being minimal stuttering and Notification Center being a little bit quirky. Overall it’s a stable update at least for me
Still crap. Apple Watch Ultra both device and on iPhone app don’t work. You can’t change faces as the app crashes and the watch just resets with a fast little clock circle icon.

1:00 I feel this is pretty much nonsense, the M1 gets Apple intelligence support in the iPads and Macs. The M1 has the same 11 TOPs NPU as the A14 Bionic in the iPhone 12. So iPhone 12 and newer models should be able to run Apple Intelligence, and if it can’t run the On-Device LLMs then why not AT LEAST have the ChatGPT integration?? That’s not on device and should be able to run on every iPhone/Mac/iPad

For Apple's AI you need RAM... just RAM. It needs at least 8GB, because LLM is expensive. Everything from A14 fine to run it. And yes, M1 is A14 (2 P cores more) with 11 TOPS NPU.
Running iOS 18 beta 1 on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I’ve got some bugs with tinting icons where the icons disappear until you lock / unlock your iPhone, and some 3rd party apps notably Outlook, sometimes looses the top 3rd of the application. No major crashes so far, battery has been decent, for a first beta super impressed!
Adding URL to the entry without any URL in Passwords app is not possible in iPad OS 18 and MacOS 15 :/ I belive it is a bug, missing features are folders/tags, and OFC you cant safe some License keys and other stuff, otherwise, works awesome

Does iOS 18 bring individual volume control to specific apps? Example: text messages alert volume set high compared to phone ringer volume. Example: UA-cam app volume different than music volume.
Hardware becomes more powerful with time and the software can be evolved to make use of those hardware advancements. To be able to use the most recent software functionality that require more powerful hardware, you have to have recent hardware. It has NOTHING to do with making software functions available only on recent hardware just to sell more new hardware. Thinking that is just silly. If your phone is not powerful enough to run AI, it simply is too old and you need to upgrade it to be able to run new and more demanding functions. That’s the way it is. You can’t buy a phone and expect to be able to get all future functionality for 10 years.
Super excited for locking and hiding apps! Will definitely feel much more comfortable getting certain apps now given my situation. Also, does hiding the app also hide it in the App Store? Does it appear in the updates section, and does viewing the app page or seeing the app while browsing it show an Open button or does it somehow obfuscate the fact that you've downloaded it? Would I still need to hide the purchase in the account settings? That's my remaining questions.

Hi @zollotech do you know if the feature Notify When Left Behind will ever work on the Ultra 2? Such a basic and important feature and yet never works properly. Huge difference against less expensive devices, that when disconnected it will vibrate and give you an alert/notification.
Really Aaron, when I first heard you using your voice as VO's voice, I laughed hard. That's actually what some of my fellow blind users have been asking if it could be achieved. Some even hope, myself included, that we'll be able to use our hard-created voice for more, and this is one of those big use cases, using it as your VO's actual voice. Talking about making your device real personal. Many believe Apple would take a while at least to be able to enable this because what we got wasn't much at all last year, but here we are. I wonder what's next, using this as Siri's voice? LOL. Can't say I'm proud of my voice, but hey, I'm sure it's not bad. So if the new iPhone 16 is heavily promoted with the new AI features exclusive in iOS 18 and some features even locked to iPhone 16 pro. then shouldn't those in the EU be able to buy the iPhone 16 pro cheaper since none of those features are given? Yeah, 8 GB of RAM is the absolute minimum for small language models. The LLMs run on 128-256 GB of RAM. There is a lot of technical documentation on these numbers, but I don't see any of the tech reporters mentioning this
I bet it will take Apple approximately 7-8 months before iOS 18 runs anywhere near stable. Every new version they release is the same; it takes them a year to get it right, and by that time, the new version is released
I want that read text in the text message app if I I would like to be able to highlight a very long message from someone and have my phone read that message for have Siri more accurately pick which messages it’s going to read when I ask you to read the last three messages sent to me by someone. I unchecked a lot of things in the new Photos application and it’s not as bad but it’s still pretty bad this just as bad as the App Store. I haven’t liked the App Store since its last major update. When do you think Apple intelligence is coming? I hope its in beta 2

It’s my first time going into the iOS 18 beta or for any iPhone beta on my only iPhone that I own I was so excited about a lot of the new features like the ability to lock my apps. I was so excited for that feature that I thought you know what I’ll give it a try and so I downloaded the iOS 18 beta and one of the other betas on the website by mistake the website confused me a lot but I managed to get the beta that I wanted and stuck with iOS 18 beta one and so far I’ve had little notification bug here and there, but I do have a problem with my iPhone heating up every now and then especially when I’m at school and I’m at a worksite while I’m listening to music with my headphones occasionally it gets really hot and so I just turn off the music and turn off the iPhone and then turn the phone back on and restart my music Again
My 2020 SE had been running great on 17.5.1. My daughter wanted a smaller phone so I let her try out my SE. She loves it lol… so for now it looks like I’ve inherited her iPhone 11.
I think we’ll get it I looked on line earlier and uk didn’t get the side loading due to not being in the eu no more, so I pretty sure we’ll get all the new features
i installed the iOS beta 18 on my iPhone 14 pro max and it ended up crashing all my apps , until it completely crashed and got stuck in a reboot loop . i've tried to fix it by troubleshooting , but that didn't seem to work . i ended up having to get a total new device sent to me as a replacement . however , i heard someone reverted back to an older iOS system ? how would i have done that if my phone wouldn't turn on at all ; it'd go from the apple logo to a black screen and then back to the apple logo .

There are lots of addtions but not too many that would fit into my workflow. And please don't give us a half baked AI. Just change Siri to port right into ChatGPT and leave it at that with OSS links of course.

And I still haven't figured out how to get rid of messages from Vindman, Trump, Obama, Biden and all the rest ONT THE WAY IN! I can do it in google mail..but no way I can see to do it in messages. We need to go back to first principles.
For Apple's AI you need RAM... just RAM. It needs at least 8GB, because LLM is expensive. Everything from A14 fine to run it. And yes, M1 is A14 (2 P cores more) with 11 TOPS NPU.
Running iOS 18 beta 1 on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I’ve got some bugs with tinting icons where the icons disappear until you lock / unlock your iPhone, and some 3rd party apps notably Outlook, sometimes looses the top 3rd of the application. No major crashes so far, battery has been decent, for a first beta super impressed!
Adding URL to the entry without any URL in Passwords app is not possible in iPad OS 18 and MacOS 15 :/ I belive it is a bug, missing features are folders/tags, and OFC you cant safe some License keys and other stuff, otherwise, works awesome
Of course it’s a scheme. Announce a bunch of great things at WWDC 2024, but don’t deliver til 2025. Sorry to say I am not impressed with 🍏 at this point.
Does iOS 18 bring individual volume control to specific apps?
Example: text messages alert volume set high compared to phone ringer volume.
Example: UA-cam app volume different than music volume.
Hardware becomes more powerful with time and the software can be evolved to make use of those hardware advancements. To be able to use the most recent software functionality that require more powerful hardware, you have to have recent hardware. It has NOTHING to do with making software functions available only on recent hardware just to sell more new hardware. Thinking that is just silly.
If your phone is not powerful enough to run AI, it simply is too old and you need to upgrade it to be able to run new and more demanding functions. That’s the way it is.
You can’t buy a phone and expect to be able to get all future functionality for 10 years.
Super excited for locking and hiding apps! Will definitely feel much more comfortable getting certain apps now given my situation.
Also, does hiding the app also hide it in the App Store? Does it appear in the updates section, and does viewing the app page or seeing the app while browsing it show an Open button or does it somehow obfuscate the fact that you've downloaded it? Would I still need to hide the purchase in the account settings? That's my remaining questions.
I’m having huge problems running iOS 18 Beta 1 on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and my iPad Pro 11” with extremely slow WiFi on all bands and no matter where I am and also battery life other than that it runs perfectly for me!
For me, poor battery life, i need to charge my 15 Pro Max at 6/7pm when I get up at 10am with 100% battery power.(normal use, no intensive)
Hi @zollotech do you know if the feature Notify When Left Behind will ever work on the Ultra 2? Such a basic and important feature and yet never works properly. Huge difference against less expensive devices, that when disconnected it will vibrate and give you an alert/notification.
Really Aaron, when I first heard you using your voice as VO's voice, I laughed hard. That's actually what some of my fellow blind users have been asking if it could be achieved. Some even hope, myself included, that we'll be able to use our hard-created voice for more, and this is one of those big use cases, using it as your VO's actual voice. Talking about making your device real personal. Many believe Apple would take a while at least to be able to enable this because what we got wasn't much at all last year, but here we are. I wonder what's next, using this as Siri's voice? LOL. Can't say I'm proud of my voice, but hey, I'm sure it's not bad. Will live in my iPhone, and speak out of it for myself to listen. 😊 Anyway, thanks a lot, and good job as always.

So if the new iPhone 16 is heavily promoted with the new AI features exclusive in iOS 18 and some features even locked to iPhone 16 pro. then shouldn't those in the EU be able to buy the iPhone 16 pro cheaper since none of those features are given? Meaning we're not getting what others are, meaning then it won't really be worth as much as it would had it been full of those features... just asking...
I half believe Apple when they say it’s not a scheme to sell more iPhones. Disappointed I won’t get it on my XS Max. Thank you Aaron your videos are always the best part. 😊
Yeah, 8 GB of RAM is the absolute minimum for small language models. The LLMs run on 128-256 GB of RAM. There is a lot of technical documentation on these numbers, but I don't see any of the tech reporters mentioning this
Unlike many others, I have had a wonderfully smooth and not too warm iOS 18 experience. My battery life is *WAY* better

I bet it will take Apple approximately 7-8 months before iOS 18 runs anywhere near stable. Every new version they release is the same; it takes them a year to get it right, and by that time, the new version is released
I want that read text in the text message app if I I would like to be able to highlight a very long message from someone and have my phone read that message for have Siri more accurately pick which messages it’s going to read when I ask you to read the last three messages sent to me by someone.
I unchecked a lot of things in the new Photos application and it’s not as bad but it’s still pretty bad this just as bad as the App Store. I haven’t liked the App Store since its last major update.
When do you think Apple intelligence is coming? I hope its in beta 2
The Barometer app stilll doesn't work in my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple knows it was the result of a recent software update.
My iPhone 15 Pro has after 17.6 beta 1 problems with 80 % stop at charging. It continued to 100 %.

My experience was pretty good considering it’s a beta, (had the new Siri activated as well which was quite cool). However, got hit with a crash followed by a boot loop today.

It’s my first time going into the iOS 18 beta or for any iPhone beta on my only iPhone that I own I was so excited about a lot of the new features like the ability to lock my apps. I was so excited for that feature that I thought you know what I’ll give it a try and so I downloaded the iOS 18 beta and one of the other betas on the website by mistake the website confused me a lot but I managed to get the beta that I wanted and stuck with iOS 18 beta one and so far I’ve had little notification bug here and there, but I do have a problem with my iPhone heating up every now and then especially when I’m at school and I’m at a worksite while I’m listening to music with my headphones occasionally it gets really hot and so I just turn off the music and turn off the iPhone and then turn the phone back on and restart my music Again
I’m having serious issues on Mac OS sequoia. Keeps crashing pretty much every time I try to use it.

My 2020 SE had been running great on 17.5.1. My daughter wanted a smaller phone so I let her try out my SE. She loves it lol… so for now it looks like I’ve inherited her iPhone 11.

I think we’ll get it I looked on line earlier and uk didn’t get the side loading due to not being in the eu no more, so I pretty sure we’ll get all the new features
i installed the iOS beta 18 on my iPhone 14 pro max and it ended up crashing all my apps , until it completely crashed and got stuck in a reboot loop . i've tried to fix it by troubleshooting , but that didn't seem to work . i ended up having to get a total new device sent to me as a replacement . however , i heard someone reverted back to an older iOS system ? how would i have done that if my phone wouldn't turn on at all ; it'd go from the apple logo to a black screen and then back to the apple logo .
