Sorry for double comment but quick note - the Zoopedia interspecies tab tells you which animals 'benefit' from living with each other. You can actually put animals together which *don't* benefit, but you have to be reasonable about it - so as you say, don't put things together where they are going to eat each other. So for example, I've had a very successful multi-species habitat with Bongo, Okapi, Flamingo, Baird's Tapir and Orangutan. They all like the same biome and live happily together. You need plenty of space and lots of poop hoovers tho! It's quite fun to work out who you can get away with combining. Again, sorry for the double comment!
@@michaelw6222 It's how I tackled 'Steeped In Pollution' on hard mode - I basically threw everything into a 'bucket' in the central basin, and swung the gondola through it. I had wondered about the elephants and gharial. I'm in the middle of 'Greener Pastures' hard mode and while I now have buckets of cash, the cognative dissonance between an eco-friendly zoo and the amount of water/tech you'd need for a huge range bio-diverse of flora and fauna - IN THE MIDDLE OF A FLAMING DESERT - hurts my brain. So I've built (very horribly I might add) an enormous Tropical House, my head canon being that it's all decked out with water gathering/energy saving gubbins that probably don't exist IRL. TLDR, I was thinking about trying the elephants, gharial, tapirs and flamingo in there, perhaps with an orangutan in the pot for good measure! Wish me luck xD!
We need an official list of the combinations! Would you happen to know if flamingos and hippos can go in together? I always had them in a mixed habitat in the original zoo tycoon.
Oh. My. Gosh!! This is absolutely the cutest thing! I love the theming of this and having the raccoons and skunks in this environment is spot on. So glad to see Planet Zoo back on the channel!
oh my GOODNESS!!! THE BACKYARD IDEA FOR THESE GUYS IS SO STINKIN CUTE!!!! It's where most people might see them in person so it's also informative in a way! 🤣
I'm so enjoying your guide/builds. I've had your Planet Zoo playlist on rotation while I'm re-working my way through the Campaign Scenarios, relearning how everything works.. SO much has changed in the game since it launched. I've bought every dlc, but haven't played since 2020, so masses to learn. Your guides are so useful, and I've specifically changed things and played differently as a result of your explanations. The game itself is much improved and fantastic to play now. I love this build - I don't play City Skylines very often (have done and enjoyed it very much) but I've recently watched a few of your builds for that, and I think you mention being tempted to build some of the small residential houses there. You've brought a little bit of Skylines to Planet Zoo, maybe? ;) Anyway, it works perfectly, as well as being a completely appropriate setting for the animals, which I love!! Just also wanted to say how much I appreciate your voice-over...planning (didn't want to say scripted because it doesn't sound that way.) It makes your vids easy to listen to - y'know, clear, engaging, useful(!) no waffle and yet relaxed and chatty. It's a surprisingly rare quality in a UA-cam guide. I imagine content creation is time-consuming and hard work, and the algorithm is a monster, but there are so many people doing it and there's a lot of quantity over quality out there. I just wanted you to know that your extra work and planning really makes a difference (hope this doesn't make me sound like a t**t) Brava! Can't wait for the next Planet Zoo installment.
I have been following your Cities Skylines videos since you started & have loved them. You are an amazing designer & detailer & lots of fun to listen to. I stumbled on to your Planet Zoo play list the other day & found that i enjoy them just as much. I finished the last one yesterday & was sad because there were no more. Happy!! Joy!!! When i logged in today there was another. Thanks you so much for sharing your wonderful videos. I absolutly look forward to them.
Ahh thank you so much! Really nice to hear that cities fans can also enjoy the Zoo content! And the series will continue, it's just a little less regular than my Cities series!
I am so thankful for this series! As someone who was just putting the bare minimum in my habitats and zoos cause construction and detailing was super intimidating your series has helped me come a long way and has made the game infinitely more fun. ❤
The urban idea is sooo cutee. I'd love to see a whole zoo designed around this one day. A real "the animals have escaped and are in the city" kind of city zoo lol.
The pitter patter of the penguin is back 🐧! Maybe you could save all those small detailing tasks for half or a whole episode to highlight the different ways you can detail awkward spaces. And it goes without saying those ‘houses’ look great and so on theme!
I was getting fatigued on Cities Skylines videos and decided to give your Planet Zoo playlist a try. I am so glad that I did! I really love your style and you’re so gifted at detailing. I really enjoy these videos and would love to see them more often (as time allows, of course.)
FewCandy this looks freaking amazing, like seriously you are so good at this. I loved the beginning with the animals lol. And definitely a livestream for the small areas, would love to watch.
If you could, I’d love to see a super detailed habitat for either gators, or crocodiles……. You’re one of the best at making the habitats feel like they are real life. An under water tunnel/viewing area would be incredible
I've been watching this whole series and I have loved everything you've done. You have given me so many ideas for my own zoo, including a primate habitat which I have struggled with so much. The raccoon and skunk habitat is so smart! I never would have thought of anything like that, but I absolutely love it. I've so enjoyed the videos and I can't wait for a new one!
Yay, absolutely love your zoo builds. Nobody else on UA-cam creates their zoos in such detail, at least not that I’ve been able to find. I love the idea of the buildings! I would really like to see you do the detailing rather than do it off camera, any videos from you are very welcome. A live stream would be nice or even just a whole video dedicated to going round detailing, maybe when you have a bit more to do. Keep up the amazing work! I’m already looking forward to the next one 😂
Yayyy zoo is back! Thats a really cute idea for a habitat having the row of houses might need to steal that one :) Also i love using the smaller animals that people overlook when making their zoos
This looks amazing! I love every little detail you put in! I'm trying yo learn to be patient while building lol but I'm still not super good at detailing
Thank you! You can always use blueprints and modify them slightly to your liking as a quicker way to detail certain bits! Patience is definitely needed with this game though haha!
This build is great and I like the idea of the lake front village. I always like to see your detailing, so would love either on-screen speed builds of the areas surrounding the habitats, food areas etc, or a livestream could be good too (maybe I'll even make it to one this time).
Hey FewCandy. Awesome series, I'm enjoying building my own zoo following your design, adding my own twist to things. Been longer and longer between the new 'episodes' though - are there updates coming in the near future or is this series not continuing? Cheers.
I think if the detailing is nothing new it's fine to do off camera, I really am enjoying this game and series, would love to see a livestream of it aswell
I would have added a second floor to the house for the racoons space, would allow more overall area to allow for a seperated sleeping area for the racoons and skunks possibly and extra racoons
The urban design is perfect for raccoons and skunks! Great idea FC :D I can't wait to see the faux street behind/next to the lake etc. That will look amazing! You have to name two of the Raccoons Miko and Rocket and surely Pepe Lepew for one of the male skunks lol. I think a live stream to fill in the small gaps would be a great - whether or not I'd actually be able to catch it with the time zone is another story though haha Thanks for the amazing build!
Thank you for all your Hard work on the whole walkthrough, I was having a hard time finding the tiny things I was missing to even play in places and you make the work so pretty and intense. took me awhile to like find all the tips i was looking for, do you think you might make a "30 things that are good to know when playing planet zoo"? would be neats.
Another fantastic build! Did you ever find out how your penguins were escaping? lol I'm really enjoying this game, thanks to you! Went to Instant Gaming and grabbed a couple DLC's. Used your link to get there. Hope you got the credit as it didn't say.
Thank you!! Yes I can see some planet zoo sales so thank you very much for using the link!! And yes, I think the penguin issue was a bug with the diving platforms, I just moved them slightly further into the habitat and away from barriers and haven’t had any issues since!
might be funny to set up like a fake patio/outdoor dining table set and make it look like the raccoons have taken over. would zookeepers put out food if their trays were on a surface like a table?
These videos have been so helpful figuring out how to make my zoos look so much nicer! Thank you. Also, could you name a raccoon Rocket? Like from Guardians of the Galaxy. That would be pretty funny.
Few, still watching and enjoying this play-through. However, you talk about getting conservation credits for habitat animals. Maybe I missed it, but I did not hear you mention that you can do that in these videos ONLY Because you are in Sandbox mode. In Franchise you CANNOT trade habitat animals for credits. I just wanted to make sure that was mentioned so as not to confuse other new players.
It’s still ongoing! I’ve just been incredibly busy with cities 2 content, but I’ve started a new episode which will be out at the weekend/early next week! Sorry it’s been so slow!
@@fewcandy Don't rush it:D just enjoy the games you play!! i will be waiting for the episode no matter what. Bought the game cause i stumbled upon your video's. any recommendations for the dlc's? atm i am just running the standard game.
Thank you! The Aquatic pack is great for the rocks and building elements, same with the Africa pack (also cool animals there). I also really rate the conservation pack for building pieces, but beyond that I’d focus on what animals you’d like to play with!
Unfortunately it is just on PC. There may be a way to play on Mac via Windows boot camp… but there isn’t a specific Mac version I’m afraid! (There should be 😌!)

Yey! 🎉
Loving the wisteria on the walls. Such a fun detailed episode. Thank you
I hope you showed us those smaller areas, started binge watching the planet zoo episodes ❤

i was finding planet zoo too difficult to understand how to play properly so this has been soso helpful, thank you for making this ❤
Glad it was useful! I’m just finishing up another episode so hope to have that out next week!

So Good! Really love this idea. Great Job!

The backyard idea was so good! I've never played Planet Zoo but perhaps you can even add a car prop?
Oo yes that would be cool! I don't think there are any in the main game but definitely some on the workshop we could use!
