    Do you think they could get along in a mixed American tank with severum, eb acara, jack Dempsey & a green terror, and a solo jewel? My mixed tank is super chill but would hold their own. Or should I put him in the peacock mbuna tank?

      It’s all an experiment at the end of the day. What size tanks do you have?

      Dang that's a lot of tanks to work with!! I would try different combos and see how it goes. Typically, I would always either keep similar fish together or just over crowd and do lots of water changes and decor rearranges weekly.

      I have 2x 125g
      2x 75g
      1 55g
      2x 40g
      3 20g
      2x 15g
      3x 10g tanks
      😆 i decided to split up the mbuna and peacocks too, I think I could put this guy in with my frontosa but idk what tanks to move stock to, to make it happen... haha fun decisions to make

    Can it live with mbunas and leporinus fish? Mine was killed by mbunas and the leporinus.

    • @kylelovesfish
      @kylelovesfish  2 роки тому +1

      I saw no Mbuna with anything except other Mbuna except for Yellow Lab and Acei. Leporinus is always a gamble with any setup, they often fin nip and become nuisances.

    Iam going to get chiclids after two weeks what's the best tank size for chiclids iam going to buy 10 pieces of fish can you give me an idea the best tank size for 10 fish chiclids?

    • @kylelovesfish
      @kylelovesfish  3 роки тому +1

      Hey! It really depends on the type of cichlids you want to keep. I would say a 55 gallon tank is the minimum to get started for most species if you are going to get 10. Bigger is always better! What type of fish are you thinking about getting?

    sir can i mix polleni with frontosa and severum?

    • @kylelovesfish
      @kylelovesfish  3 роки тому +2

      Hey! I wouldn't unless it's a very big tank and a large community of cichlids. I find Polleni to be fairly aggressive and they have teeth!! Both Frotnosa and Severums are much milder in temperament.

    • @unclefester4493

      @@kylelovesfish i mixed my polleni with severum and frontosa.its been 2 months already and they re doing fine. Polleni is just a little bit bully but no worries as long as i feed them regularly.

      @@unclefester4493 AWESOME!! Yah, you can get away with a lot if you have a large tank, decor for escape, and keep everyone fat and happy :-) Nice work!! How big is everyone? Do you keep any other fish/tanks?

  • @Seany596
    @Seany596 3 роки тому +2

    How big do they get? What's their aggression like?

    • @kylelovesfish
      @kylelovesfish  3 роки тому +2

      Hey! Thanks for watching!! They get about 8-12" and they are a bit aggressive. You can see mine in a community tank did well but as with most cichlids that grow teeth (yes, this sp has real sharp teeth) as they grow into their full size they often need really big tanks and other tough tank mates. I'd keep them with large American cichlids once they reach the 6-8" mark.

    • @Seany596
      @Seany596 3 роки тому +2

      @@kylelovesfish Thanks for the reply 👍🏻 What cichlids would you say their aggression matches with and what American cichlid tank mates do you think would be suitable for this cichlid?

    • @kylelovesfish
      @kylelovesfish  3 роки тому +1

      I'd say they are like a JD, Oscar, Midas, GT, Texas and others like that. Those are good matches too if you got a big enough tank. I'd keep them in a community tank with other large fish and cichlids.
