@@burpbee1 Same. I think when you play violin one should at least be able to read easy sheet music, it makes life so much easier and is not too hard to learn. I have a hard time with videos like this cause they go so fast and you have to constantly change the speed or rewind. With sheet music you can choose your own pace.
@LittleDreamer1412 I've learned to read notes as a child. If I remember correctly, I learned theory pretty much at the same time as playing the theory I had learned, as to not forget. I play by ear too. I too find when it's tabs, it's like a race because I can't see ahead of time what's coming and it's so distracting. I actually find piano tabs with note dashes names (but playing violin still) a bit easier to follow than violin tabs.... But choice one: staff and notes.

For me, violin tabs are way too confusing. Much easier for me to read notes.
