📖 Mario is invited to Peach's Castle for a grand celebration of some sorts. When he has almost arrived, Kamek appears out of no where and zaps him far away to a random location. Now Mario has to make his way back while going through some bosses which seem to have a bone to pick with him.
This Mario game adds NEW funny, weird, and crazy boss battles. You'll see enemies from Angry Birds, Sonic the Hedgehog, Donkey Kong Country, and MORE!

The purple monkey boss was the Bonzai Buddy, the old desktop helper ape that came bundled with adware in the days of Windows 98-XP

I recently researched and the boss of Stage 7 is apparently the Forest Giant from the Netflix show “Hilda”. Stage 7 is themed after the show and the enemies that’s in the stage are Trolls.
Side note: The boss pattern for the Stage 7 boss is similar to the final boss of Donkey Kong (Game Boy) and Mario vs. Donkey Kong(GBA)

Hey BTG, idk if someone already pointed out in the comments, so I'm gonna say it anyway. That purple monkey boss on the DK stage was meant to be Bonzi Buddy, a very known virus that puts a purple monkey "helper" on your screen. Anyway, loved the video! :p

fun fact; the first level is actually based off 1-1 from Super Mario Bros. Special (for those unfamilar, it was an officially licensed Mario game developed by Hudson Soft in 1986 for Japanese PCs)

That was one of the most original hacks Ive seen in a long time. The recreation of Mario 64 at was a perfect way to end the game, that was an amazing stage. Part of the fun was figuring out(or trying to) what each game was. I recognized Donkey Kong, Mega Man and Mario, but still have no clue about most of the rest of them. Great video!

wow, I can't believe they did a toontown level! (level 8) it's an old disney online turn-based rpg game (yeah). very nostalgic, they made the stage really look like the original game

When Darby was playing the Minions level, he was playing Minion Rush! Once he got to the Vector boss, it explained it all. That was the reason for the auto scroll before and during the boss! In Minion Rush, you never stop moving. Oh, and the bananas were NOT a mistake.
World 8 was so nostalgic, and I loved how accurate the VP boss fight is

This definitely seemed reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. 3 Mix, and I’m all for it. The absence of the Fire flower is disappointing, but it’d probably make the game too simple otherwise.

I'm very glad that they made the Super Mario bros 3. the enemies are slightly he more similar than the 3D ones. Mario's hat looks more similar then the 3D Mario's hat. and I'm glad that they put the cannon box in Super Mario Bros 3 Style

i believe the second boss is a mankey kong
The only connection I see with the second boss is Bunzi Buddy, but it feels also too weird of a connection with the Donkey Kong level. Also the bananas are probably there sense the Minions mentions banana somewhere.

fact: the second boss is a purple monkey called "bonzi buddy", the monkey that helps you with starting up your old computer, but needs your addresses.
7:24 the level is based on the Movie Ice Age, and the Bird Enemies are Dodos, that are Extinct.
loved the look of this. Cool funky music esp hearing the Donkey Kong music. it was a fun idea with angry bird, always through it adds that extra zing when people gel other games into one.

I was second guessing myself at first but level 7 is definitely from the show/comic Hilda ;) I definitely recommend giving it a watch. Part of the better animated hand drawn shows :)
When you go onto the minion level the Reason that the bananas are still there is because minions love bananas you would’ve known that if you would watch the movies

I don’t know if I’m the only one that knows this, but it looks like the boss 8 was from Disney’s ToonTown, an old online pc rpg game where you could own your own house, furniture and a pet with friends and would fight against the “cogs” which you would fight using cream pies as weapons in turn based combat!
The beans you were collecting were the currency in the game and you would earn them playing mini games and you could use them to buy the cream pies and ways to fight the cogs and various bosses!!

So these were my observations:
Boss 2 was the scourge of the 56k days, infamous PC spyware Bonzi Buddy.
Minions like bananas (at least that's what I saw in a trailer for one of those movies)
I think level 4 was supposed to be Ice Age because of the dodo birds & acorns
Level 5 was definitely Sonic on the Master System/Game Gear
Level 7 looked Pac Land? It looked like the level from Smash Bros (no clue about the boss in level 3 5 or 7)
Level 8, no idea but the boss fight was like the Barrel boss from Donkey Kong Country 3

And yes, Minions are known for loving bananas 🍌 (just like me) and I at first thought That's strange, they must have forgot to change the coin equivilent for the next level but then remembered/realized minions love bananas, so it was a big brain move of the creator/s to put the minion level after the DKC level. Although guess what? Something that DGR noticed that you didn't is that the minions can't actually defeat you, you will defeat them even by walking into them, LOL! 😆 Edit: Also you didn't recognize that the icey stage was "Ice Age" and those birds were dodos. (I guess that's how they transformed into the angry birds lololol). Anyway. Also 13:12 No, you already had the second star coin, it must be a glitch. Oh, by the way at the part with tht big monster that you though you were softlocked at when you lost the cannon box, well actually did you notice that pile of pies? If you pick up one of those pies and slowly move towards that big monster, it will slowly back away from you until it falls into the pit. Also 20:09 Lol what a coincedence, DGR also died at that point 😆
