This has easily become one of my favourite recitation of Mei Hua San Nong, for the elegance, calmness and purity from the sound. Besides, it's rare to hear silk string Guqin nowadays.
The elegance of the music, along with the elegance of the movements of playing seem to me to need to be seen and heard together. The music is pure and clean, and the movements are as expressive as the song.
Listening to this instrument, after I tried three different of his videos, has helped me find relief from my tooth aching! Normally, I rely heavily on isochronic tones/binaural beats; but they failed me last night. I stumbled across this music and I feel Sooo much better!
This is an ancient flute music piece, the history can be traced back to the Jin Dynasty (266 to 429 AD), later it's adapted into Guqin. The music score of the Guqin tune was first seen in the "Magic Secret Score" in 1425 AD.
I love you for this, Zi De quqin Studio. It can be so hard to find good guqin music. As a new learner of the instrument it's so precious to be able to listen to it played by a skilled musician.
thank you for blessing this website with those wonderful songs played by skilled musicians. Guqin really is one of the most beautiful insruments out there, super calming. Thanks a lot for sharing these! Lots of love and stay healthy

@@ViolinValia I would need to learn more than the instrument. I would need to learn more about Chinese tradition, culture, history, language. Based on what I'm reading. It is one thing to play old songs. But to create new ones and even execute them properly as a westerner, it would take many many many years of dedicated practice. Luckily, my best friend is Chinese. Perhaps he or his parents could help me out as well. I'm 30 years old though. It's much easier to learn music or language as a child. It will be an uphill battle for sure.
@@oo-wr4pq Hey, 34-year-old lady here. And not ready to give up on life yet, either :) As an adult you have the motivation and discipline children rarely have. You want it, you can do it. It is a labor of love and no longer your parents' ambitions, if you know what I mean. There are GuQin seminars in the US. Pick one, touch the instrument - you will know what to do from there. You can get all the background on Chinese culture as you go.
Well you can just Google and find a seller I found one called something like mountain song. You can buy it and then just spend like 10 minutes a day just finding where the notes are, you can learn how to play or at least not suck and then slowly get the culture over time or don't, music has always been filled with people using instruments for the beauty of the instrument not the cultural ramifications. Also if you can't find any teachers you could maybe find the teacher of a similar instrument and see what they can help you with for the similarities, like a pedal steel or a lap guitar is kinda similar and you can have a tor in the door (that may not work if you don't already know how to play thouse instruments)
Just move on already. Forget about it and don’t look back. Just accept that it isn’t a part of your life and it never will be. If you truly can’t do that, if you could never forgive yourself if you did, then just do it already! You’ll never start unless you take the plunge at some point. You’re only getting older. We have a short time on this Earth, and as you’ve already said it’s going to take much time and energy. So why not start? Being stuck in no man’s land burdened by excuses while you fantasize about doing it some time later that will never come does no good for anyone, least of all you. How much do you really care? Enough to do it? Or is that all it will ever be to you-a fantasy Don’t live a life you’ll regret. Don’t torture yourself with hollow words.

Is it just me or does the music when a man is playing it have a very different energy to it? It just seems much more assertive. Maybe it is the silk strings and the friction sounds? idk, what do you guys think? Beautiful playing, thank you.
It was played by any scholar or well educated person, not monks(or just monks). It was a instrument used for self reflection and like whatever scholarly people did back then lol.
I think everyone who plays the Guqin have beautiful hands...
totally, I'm envious of their hands...

Thanks!

Wonderful plaing!
