Hi, Lisa. Thanks for coming on my channel and having me on your channel, too. It was a lot of fun working together.
Thank you Alex for collaborating with our Queen Lisa. You're so handsome. 😊☺️🤭
🕊️❤️🙏
Actually, I'm planning to make a video on that topic soon. : )
For those of you who are ashamed of your accent just know that a person with an accent is a person who speaks at least two languages, Right off the bat, that should be a confidence booster , I speak three languages and while I consider myself fluent in English I still have a little accent however, I never lose sleep over that, I’m trilingual and down the road I’ll be adding a fourth language to my repertoire, that alone gives me a lot of confidence when speaking…. Accents are part or your identity, be yourself, be proud of who you are.
Nicely said!..
I didn't know anything could give me this much confidence!.. thank you!
I speak English pretty well I have an accent as well which I'm so proud of frankly speaking !!!!!! I love my accent with all my heart ...I will never and ever try to change my self so that people will love me ......
@@elhadjdiallo633 well said !
@@ninananuchi5741 glad I could help !
I agree 100 %, I’m trilingual as well, and very proud. If someone laughs on my accent. I ask them to say one word in my language. Then, I LAUG very hard at them, so they realize how hard it can be to speak another language.
“Do not allow your insecurity about your accent to paralyze you. Slow down and use a strong voice. You have something important to say, so say it with confidence.” I will say these in class.
yep ... that's the main thing ... thank you for writting in better words ...
@@armghanbabar7669 welcome, dear
Agreed!👍
Yes me too I Will say this to my learners thank you lisa for your precious help
Exactly right
A woman with the world talent of teaching 💪, more blessing Madam Lisa🙏🙏.
One of the greatest English trainer for non native speaker….. you will remembered forever… Thank you Lisa the perfect.
Wow! You are one of the best teachers i have ever met especialy online! So encouraging, so articulate! Am so impressed by your teaching. Thank you teacher.
I love this! I'm learning so much about how to clearly and concisely explain differences between my students' accents and a native speaker's accent.
I don't know why it took me a lot of time to find this channel; your video about rising and falling intonation made me aware that is not OK to use rising intonation on statements (even when a lot of youtubers and social media personalities use it all the time). Definitely one of the most professional channels on english learning out there.
I’m glad I came across with this channel. I live in Canada, and I always struggled with my accent. I thought that this was something I have to deal my entire life. So I am really happy that there people out there like you teaching how to improve our accent. Thank you for doing this.
Watching your videos teaching English language - (pronunciation and grammar) is very helpful to none native English speakers like me! Thank you for your free tutorial English language, Liza! God bless!
Hello Lisa, Thanks for your amazing explanation for a non-native speaker, because I was one of those who always struggle with my accent so I always speak fast but not clearly. Thanks for your sharing, this is so helpful.
Thank you for this fantastic and super helpful video. Very thoughtful of you telling us non-native speakers to stop emphasizing our accent flaws. When relaxed, my accent is reduced, I’ve noticed that, and other people also commented the same.
Thank you for teaching us these tips, your lectures are always so clear and helpful, especially the stress in a sentence and the speed of our speech. Even when we're fluent, these mistakes can sometimes hold us back from sounding like a native.
Omg! I personally felt like you were speaking to me! I have had those experiences in the past, and still do. Grappling with pronunciation, placement of emphasis on words, anxiety, fear of being mimicked and mocked and what not. Thank you for putting out this vid. Super helpful and encouraging 🇳🇬🇺🇸
Yes, influence of mother tongue 😛
Could affect our oration
@@marianbinny3529 you can say that again lol
I am from india working in american BPO and you really hit the nail on the head when you said some people tend to say negative things about your accent and don't let it stay in your mind. It really happened to me when speaking with native speakers however after hearing what you said i feel confident.
Hi teacher Lisa! Thank you so much for all the wonderful videos. I've learned a lot from them!
Teacher Lisa. You're just outrageous at teaching English. I've learned a lot from you. I love the way you speak AND pronounce the words, etc . My pronunciation Is improving day by day

Hi , I have been teaching Maths and Physics for 33 years, here in Lebanon we have to explain in English. When I started teaching I was lost between the American accent and the British one , now my American accent is much better but after discovering you , I know now that my English language could be much better, every video (of yours ) I watch , I learn something new . Now I feel that I am feeding my English language from the right source.
Thank you very much, I do appreciate it, yes you are a wonderful teacher and an amazing person as well.

This is one of the best video I have ever listened. It has increased my confidence as non native Americans.
Thanks Lisa. Always great to watch your videos! I learned a lot from your lessons.
Thank you Abdullah!
Lisa, thanks for sharing such an informative video lesson with us to enrich our knowledge.🌹❤️
I love this video, I used to felt insecure when people ask where am I come from and so curious about my accent. But now I learnt how to speak clear and pronounce correctly, (but I still need to learn how to speak slowly and stress at the correct syllable), I think the most important is people understand what you are talking about.
Using pronounciation, stressing on key words, speaking in a slower pace, and most importantly, SPEAKING CLEARLY SO THAT THE LISTENER CAN UNDERSTAND YOU! Thank you, coach!
Excellent tips we got today !
Thanks a lot Leesa
God bless you !
I appreciate the positive message by Teacher Lisa🥰🥰
Well explained!!
Wonderfullly concise advice and demonstration. Thank you so much
Thank you Lisa.I really appreciate your methodology of teaching the stress of a word. I did learn that second syllable in Verb, last syllable in Noun should be stressed. If you give information, based on this strategy, it will help us a little more. Thank you
I m really improving my accent after listening to you and imitation off course.❤❤❤ million trillion thanks to you MAM
It's said "ma'am" short of madame.

Thank you very much Lisa. Now, I feel much more confident to practice my speech regardless of my accent but in a way that I can speak and say those english words clearly.💖
Love you dear teacher. You are the most wonderful ,and knowledgeable teacher of all time.In you lessons you touch every aspect of language and it's absolutely impressive 💖💖
Lisa, the last tips about accent is encouraging. I used to receive negative comments about my accent. When I spoke with the person over the phone the first time, she was able to understand me. On the next phone call when I explained to her how much balance she owed, she started to blame my strong accent, and complain that my sentences were incomplete. She had such a difficult time to understand me. I was up sad and lost my confidence of taking phone calls for a while.
Listening with text is really gonna help. It stores in brain and gets easier to deliver.
Lisa, your last thoughts on this video: "you have something important to say...if someone criticized your accent don't keep that on your memory.." was a divine advise/tip. Thank you. You are an one glamorous Teacher. God bless you .
Thank you Maressa. 😄
I really appreciate all of your episodes.
I watched some of her videos a couple years ago maybe and now I just re-discovered her channel! I liked this vid so much that I wanted to leave a comment today, thanks Lisa for all your dedication!!
Thank you German. Welcome back to my channel! : )
I congratulate with you! This is the best ESL/EFL online I've seen. Really professionally designed tips, unlike many well-meaning but highly improvised language teachers sigh!

Thank you the best lesson ever🙏God bless you.
Fantastic video 📹.
I am from Mozambique 🇲🇿, a Portuguese speaking country in Africa. So far I can speak three languages fluently(Portuguese, English and Shangaan). Currently fighting for Spain to be the 4th language.
My English accent is quite different from others'. However I do not speak just like a native English speaker. It is clear and understandable, though.
Thank you so much Lisa for your informative and clearly understood lessons.
This student is so cute and kind. He must be a good person.
No word to respect such teacher!!!!
Always thanks, wonderful teacher ^^
*Professional speech is clear speech!!! SUPER LISA THANKYOU 😍😍😍
Lisa, your comment toward the end of the video was absolutely beautiful and encouraging. I wished I had heard those words when I first came to the US at age 14.
Thank you!
I really find it difficult to correctly pronounce the word “develop” but I guess I will be able to pronounce it more naturally after watching this video.
Thanks Lisa.
Confidence is the key to learning any language.
Thank you very much for your useful pieces of advice.
Thanks for your time Lisa
love you so much lisa! you're amazing teacher
These videos are really good. Lisa, you have pinpointed what many people have had trouble with. I'm impressed. My wife is Korean and today I'm going to show her these videos. Thank you!
Thank you Lee!
So educative and inspirational, really appreciate it.
I start my day with a quick look at if I have got some new lesson from Lisa that says how valuable your lessons are to non native speakers.
You’re the best teacher ever!
I really like lisa. I been following her for years..very well done ..
Thank you, Lisa, you are very inspiring. Love it!
Lisa, thanks for all the tips. That's really help.
Excellent video. Many people living in this country do not accept that their accent needs to be improved. I was one of them until my native speaker husband made me realize that I needed to loose my accent.
Thank you for this. I work in a BPO and sometimes some clients tell me I have a think accent, at first it was kind of upset but among 10 clients 9 of them can understand me only 1 complains😊... You're right, don't let ur accent paralyze you..😻
Hi Lisa, One thing I would like to tell you that I've been struggling to understand some of the English accents that American people speak.
The native accents there are kind of hard for me to understand. I spoke with some people from New Jerzy and California and I had no trouble
understanding their accents. But when I spoke with some people from Alabama, I had trouble. Moreover, I find it too hard to understand some of the
African Americans' English accents. Could you please say something regarding this? Perhaps you can make a video comparing these accents
in a video and explain. Thanks in advance .
Lisa is an awesome teacher.
( seems speaking with an accent , no matter how minimal is a crime😞)
This helps a ton!
Brilliant. What a teacher u are. Many thanks
This lesson is really perfect. 🙏☺️
I want to share with you one advice I received many years ago and that has worked phantastic for me.
Listen repeatedly someone speaking your own mother tongue with let’s say English accent for instance. It is much easier to realize the intrinsic prononciation details when you hear in words you are very familiar with. Second step, try to imitate that English accent in your own language. This helps you fix that prononciation and tone in your brain. Finally, try to speak English with the same accent…
Note: it takes a few days… then it goes very quickly.
Very supportive. You are 100 percent correct
This clip was very helpful, thank you and please make more clips like this. ✌🏼🙏🏼
You are amazing teacher....I've learned a lot.
She’s my favorite English teacher too!🙂
Omg i had the same problem, just didn't noticed untill this video
Thank you so much Lisa!!!!!
You're welcome!
Love this episode, more like these kind of videos please.
Great lessons and thank you Lisa
Great video..thanks so much for your comments at the end of the video .. very helpful!
Your videos are really helpful Lisa. Thank you so much.
You're an awesome English teacher! Thanks.!
Excellent video. Thank you so much!
I am a new subscriber who just came across your channel today. I agree with you Lisa on negative comments. Sometimes they are jealous ‘ as you mentioned? so he the only way they can attack you is saying you have an accent’
stress correct syllable, stress the key words, pronounce the consonants clearly, speak slowly and clearly. thank you. very helpful video.
This is very professional, you are a linguistics expert!
Best channel so far to help those of us,non native speakers 🔊
Yes. My fabulous teacher is coming back
Thank you so much for all the wonderful lessons. I truly appreciate you.
Such a great video, Lisa.
Excellent as always!
Thanks! :)
Eureka!!! Stressing the correct syllable changes everything. Wow!
Your accent is well appreciated being something else.❤
