  • Located on the southern edge of Big Sur, Treebones Resort is a premier glamping resort. For nearly 20 years Treebones has been a true eco resort striving to to cultivate as light of a footprint as possible on this majestic land.
The resort boasts some of the most unique accommodations you could hope to find...from the yurt village to an actual treehouse...and even a human nest sculpture you can stay and stargaze in. However this week I'm staying in the newest accommodation, the property's North Autonomous Tent (for years Treebones had a single Autonomous Tent and recently they renovated the original (south) tent and built a second neighboring tent.
These semi-translucent Autonomous Tents are covered in fabric that stretches across the curved frame. Fully furnished with a king sized bed, leather lounging chairs, bedroom with toilet, walking shower, separate vanity and sink, indoor fireplace, and outside deck top fire pit...this is some seriously comfortable "glamping".
From the organic garden where most of the resort's produce is grown on sight to the pool/spa and the outdoor amphitheater where yoga is offered daily, the grounds are wonderfully maintained with numerous oceanfront views. The Wild Coast Restaurant offers garden to table dining experience which is both relaxed and refined.
Big Sur is often referred to as a magical place and Treebones truly honors the natural beauty of this land. This is an incredible place to visit, but Big Sur is also sensitive and an untouched land...local infrastructure is not set up to support mass visitation as many of our other local state and national parks. There are nearly 70 miles of Highway1 coastline without access to travel services such as gas, food, and restrooms, so please do your research before traveling and familiarize yourself with the Big Sur Pledge and the Leave no Trace principles.

Aren't you just a darling. I adore your mild upbeat personality throughout this video. I'm close to Big Sur and will be checking it out. Thank you so much for the overview. Much appreciated. The videography is outstanding. Enjoy life. Cheers!

Thankyou for the fabulous tour, I’ve managed to book 2 nights for May 2022 in one of the automonus tents, tent #17 do you know if that’s the one you stayed in, the newer one?

That’s awesome, I’m sure you will have a spectacular time! I did stay in the newest autonomous tent (it was called the north autonomous tent when I visited, it had just recently been built) even after traveling up & down the Big Sur coast for over a decade this is one of my favorite places to stay in all of Big Sur.☺️

How is Treehouse compared to Autonomous tent ? Are there any bugs/ticks/safety concerns in the place ? Thank you

How much in advance did you book this??

That is a GREAT question, the two autonomous tents often book nearly a year in advance BUT I booked this particular stay 2 weeks out!😃 I really love Treebones and every so often they have cancellations…in April they just happened to have 3 days cancel that worked for my schedule so I jumped on it…if you check the reservation section on Treebones website sometimes you’ll see a last minute opening. 😊

@@flyingdawnmarie cool!! Thanks a lot !! Is there anyway we can get a deal or a discount?

@@SushiVlogsUSA when I last visited (in April) they had an email list you could sign up for by the front desk entrance to stay in the loop…I’m not signed up for it so I can’t say for sure if they ever email with specials or discounts and of course you can always call and ask if they will be running any specials or promos (everyone here is super nice). I will say Treebones is quite popular and often books up and I haven’t seen any autonomous tent specials when looking for myself.

No kids under 13 allowed... I'll have to take my family elsewhere.
