- A reckless driver suspected of being under the influence was arrested after a high-speed pursuit that spanned L.A. and Orange counties Tuesday night.
Deputies with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s East L.A. Station initiated the pursuit before California Highway Patrol officers took over the chase.
The suspect led authorities through surface streets before getting on the eastbound 60 Freeway near the 605 Freeway interchange shortly after the pursuit was initiated.

LA, "60 MPH is too fast to PIT"
Arkansas, "Hold my beer"
🎯
As always in California, being so considerate to criminals. This DUI driver could kill someone innocent on the rode.
In arkansas, not only are you arrested very quickly, but you lose your car also. Totalled.

@@ohwhataday7171 Being a reckless driver, in order to "protect the public from a reckless driver", takes a ridiculous hypocrite to accomplish.
Arkansas pits at 130mph LA are wimps
In Mexico there is no such thing as a pursuit, they will gun down the vehicle if you try to leave.
Kaliforny doesn't want to hurt the illegals as they will place them on long term disability... Kaliforny is a joke and that was told to me by a former resident who Works for Grumman Defense systems who now lives in Arizona.
innocent people die @. 130mpr genius
Sounds like Arkansas has reckless drivers with badges who need to be charged.
Nobody give af about arkansas
I guess people like going to jail
Ive been there before and everything is free don't believe wat u see in movies/ tv shows
Maybe he thought if he ran long enough, he'd get his B.A.C. below. 08 and then he'd only get a wet and reckless charge.
LA - Perp will be home in time for supper.
is he being sent to Mexico?
Good video. That woman shouldn’t comment, gee!
LAPD allows these chases to go on and on and on putting more lives in danger.
In case you missed, this chase is CHP. Not LAPD.
Depending on the situation, I agree.
But at least they aren't like Arkansas cops. Those guys love high speed pits
There has to be a happy medium between California and Arkansas tactics
Every night this happens....
@@jerryd1109I have no problem with Arkansas tactics if it’s in a wide open area. The main reason why CHP and other California agencies show a lot of restraint in a PIT is because there is a lot of people nearby and California’s tort laws allow for lawsuits against the police department if anything goes wrong. California is a strict liability state I think.
@@jerryd1109sit down 🤡🤡
What was the point of that? How could this young guy think this was going to end up any different than it did…
Because he's drunk. NEWSFLASH !!! PEOPLE DON'T THINK RATIONALLY WHILE DRUNK !!!
Kansas pd more aggressive to do pit manuver than lapd
Arkansas State Police too
Related to population density?
It's the CHP . They say so in the report.
Was he getting ready for the modelo 500 this weekend?
😂
Ayeeee
Why do they let the people at the news desk speak? They just sound so stupid and repeat what Gil already said. It’s nothing but annoying. Especially the woman. So not needed.
No more Tacos Tuesday for that guy for a quite a while.
Oh I get it now, the cop is waiting for him to run out of gas
What a clown 🤡
3:10 tell that to ASP

Ehh.. didn’t make such a ruckus I say a couple hours in jail 😂
that pursuit would have been over in 10 minutes tops here in Florida
Difficult to pick up the pursuit? IN A HELO? WTFF
I understand that California wants to handle criminals with kid gloves, please stop reporting that PIT maneuvers CANNOT be performed at speeds over 35. That may be policy for most California agencies but the maneuvers are routinely performed elsewhere across this country including speeds in excess of 100mph (look up Arkansas State Police pursuits). You do a disservice reporting that they CANNOT be safely performed.
But the news room cackler said so! What ?????
"Hey!!!!!!" "Stop!!!!!!!" "You're in trouble!!!!!!!"
Lol
The commentators need to be cautious in their terminology when discussing “compliance” of the suspect. He’s not obeying commands when he keeps dropping his arms, etc because he is told not too! This is a great way to get subpoenaed in court and asked, “what is your law enforcement training and background?”
"35 mph is a danger to the officers" Every cop in Ar. Ga. Ms. Fl. Al. Tn. NC. SC. Va. Mo. Ks. Tx. 🤣 What he really meant to say was every LEO agency in Cali is to worried about being sued to do anything meaningful to end a pursuit above 35 mph. 🎯
I've seen many pit maneuvers over 65mph and they were not catastrophic. These commentators are too dramatic
California needs the “grappler” like Az has.
Toyota Matrix? It's kinda rare these days.
"35 MPH is just a suggestion" - Arkansas State Patrol
"That's it?" He sounded quite disappointed :/
Arkansas State Police would've shut this down right away. They pit @ 10mph or 110mph. They barely ask twice. 👏💪.
PATHETIC. Where's Byrd ???????????????
I don't understand why the animator says that 55 or 60 mph is too fast to proceed to a PIT, I've seen many good ones over 110 mph in Arkansas, missing information?
Anyone notice that lost rim was planted 😂😂
The hubcap?
GIL, how I wish that we could listen to you without the dribble of desk "reporters". You are The Best, GIL!
Right? They're so annoying with their speculations and repeated phrases 🙄 It's as if they don't think the viewers can see what's going on ourselves, ugh...
Undefeated charger is still out there
No it’s not. He’s been caught.
Wow, it's NOT a Hellcat.
Laughable! "Speeds are too high for a PIT maneuver" (70 MPH) Arkansas seems to prefer doing them at over 70.
That's a bigger deal than an average DUI eh?
every pursuit I watch they always lose their pants???
For running he should be charged with stupidity
Do yall have to report everyDAYUMthang 😂😂😂
Ya know what Im sayin', word!
Do you have to comment on everyDAYUM story you find on the internet?
Cry harder about what you chose to watch.
BOY! You are some kind of special. Ain't you?
So. Cal police needs to buy some grapplers. They'd have the chase completed in minutes!
The Watch Comander controls the action of his officers under his command. If someone gets hurt during a pursuit, the city always loses in court, and the WC could be fired because the city had to pay $$$ for property damage and personal injuries.
Apparent was called off
This isn’t a pursuit; it’s a police escort.
It never ends. Amazing !!!
rent is too high, food costs too much, i guess going to jail seems like a good vacation option for him? haha lmfao
We gotta ask for consent to pit or he will get offended and sue us -LAPD
In the UK, if the police had 3 vehicles in proximity to the suspect car, they would box that car in. A car in front of, one along side the driver’s side and one to the rear. Very rarely fails to stop the suspect’s and chases like this length don’t happen. And it can also be done with any traffic conditions! God knows why the American police fanny about like this!!
Georgia State Patrol just laughs at these chases, imagine if we had those guys out here in Los Angeles like that nobody would attempt to start a chase
They can’t or won’t confirm the accusation?
The lady should STOP talking repeating everything, imo!!!
“he definitely saw it and tried to swerve it” no tf he didn’t he ant even try
Another failure of California law enforcement at doing their job of stopping a dangerous driver. Never should have gone 20 minutes long.
The border patrol van is in Riverside tonight
Is it just me or does it seem like there's more pursuits going on
Ya open freeway tho
Ok so Cars 2? Those laser beams don't exist yet?
You produce cars with kill switches, the cop aims the light or laser at the car and it shuts the engine off. We have the tech I'm sure.
Taco Bell will be one employee short tomorrow.
how come most police pursuits happen in Southern CA?
isn't it crazy how places like los angeles, a city of 10 million people, always tend to make the news when you are following their local news channels?
too much ecstasy and other drugs at raves? struggle with the logic of large numbers?
Well. That was pointless.
Hey I live in Fullerton :D
better than cable
Arkansas would have done a pit maneuver back at the beginning, when the driver was going 80mph in heavy traffic, because red states often have dangerously incompetent pigs.
Smart! Let all the alcohol wear off..
L.A. is the city of Angeles God Bless CHP.
ASP needs to train all California police how to pit (tvi) at any speed. All I can think of is that California is very hard up for money

Arkansas, state troopers would have already pitted that vehicle. They know how to do their job California CHP. They're not allowed to do that on the freeway. Very rarely, do they do it? But Arkansas state troopers, they do it all the time. That is one state you don't Mess around with. They don't give a f***

Funny how trolls from Texas are trying to tell California's cops to do their jobs like Arkansas does.
There are more people living in Los Angeles than there is in the entire state of Arkansas.
To put that in perspective for you, Los Angeles County has OVER TWICE the population Harris County has.

Always the usual suspects. Welcome to the new California.
Racists trolling people from the other side of the country. Welcome to Trump's New York.
Trump's trial in New York looks like a ghost town outside of it. The only people there are those interested in scalping "tickets to the courtroom" that nobody is interested in buying. If it is in your neighborhood, why aren't you there, supporting your cult leader, rather than here spreading pointless propaganda?
As a CEO, you should be able to afford scalped tickets to Trump's trial so you can take a seat next to MTG and the other republican crackheads.
