I used this cable to convert an old G25 pedal set to a analog handbrake!. Works like a charm. 1 - Remove the break from a pedal set with cables and the serial connector 2 - Mount a hand grip on the pedal. (And mount it on your rig) 3 - connect the break pedal to this cable. 4 - add 2 pot meters as replacement for the throttle and clutch. This prevents calibration issues due to not having a signal on those channels. Pull up or Pull down resistor probably work to. But the pot meters can add some extra functionality. 5 - Set it up in the software and you are good to go!
Thanks Barry! Pretty handy tip. I just got the Fanatec CSL Elite 1.1 and have G920 pedals. Found i can hook up the G920 wheel and use it as a hub to get the pedals to work but this is a much better option. Even so, I just bought the ClubSport V3 pedals which is even better! :) Keep up the great vids!
I use a Leo Bodnar shifter adapter for my old G27 shifter, making it a stand alone. Really good that there are an option to mish and mash old and new equipment!!
This is really useful, especially for someone like me who had an lc mod for the pedals and now upgraded to a different wheelbase, I don't need to switch pedals with this
If you have Thrustmaster wheel and G25/27/29 pedals lying around -use them. You can get official cable from Thrustmaster (or many stores like Ricmotech) to connect these pedals to T300/500/TX/TS. They will have 10 bit resolution and no brake curve. In my opinion Logitech pedal are better than T3PA even. Modding option are also a big plus.

@@Chennos From what I understand its not the problem in software but rather the firmware in the wheel base itself. However i wonder if there is any programs that could maybe add a reverse curve to the input to make it linear again. I have this mod and it's exactly as you say. I also have the GTEye progressive spring kit, the 3DRap progressive brake spring insert, as well as Clutch & Throttle preload spacers. Sorry, just bugs me.
Barry, great channel. I am new to sim racing and I just bought the G29 set about a month ago and wanted to do the mods for the brake pedal. I looked into the pricing on both the load cell mod and this adapter to go straight to USB instead of the wheel to bypass the curve you talk about. My question is would I be better off just spending a few more dollars and getting the CSL Elite Pedals LC from Fanatec? Seems I would get more ability to make adjustments on the CSL pedals? I know you don't make a habit of replying to comments as you get so many of them but I really hope you will point me in the direction you would take. If you had $200.00 to spend on upgrading would you do the mod or buy the CSL Elites (or maybe something different even?) and do the CSL Elite pedals connect directly to a USB or do they need to have an adapter also?
I am reluctant to give advice like this, as everyone has different needs and means. But, in this case I will. I would get the CSL pedals with the LC. I believe it would be a better way to spend the 200.00. Like you already said, more adjustability and much more sturdy set of pedals in general. The CSL pedals with the LC addon, can plug directly into a PC via usb. No extra cable needed.
First of all love your reviews & breakdowns my god you go in depth in a gd way, can you look into upgrading the Logitech g29s power pack with added fan if possible as I see a lot of posts on sim forums about this popular mod but zero videos on it? Would love to know how much difference it makes

I just got a nice wheel, shifter, and brake, but now need a cheap pedal set to hold me over until I can afford a nice one. If no, what cheap pedal set should I get until I can afford the inverted fanatec v3?
no, you need a board to send a HID joystick input to the computer, like an Arduino Leonardo or a Micro. It's what I'm doing, simply using a DB-9 board, but to use them as standalone flight rudder pedals. all for less than 5€.
