This is legendary footage. I was there at the flip Demo in Rotterdam Blaak. The kickflip shifty he did blew everybodies mind because no local could have done that so easily there. Nobody did that stuff back then!
Once you've been skating for some years, you know how some tricks are easier switch or nollie? I've nearly landed nollie inward heels, but damn, fakie inward heelflips are awkward as shit. On a side note, everyone knows Tom Penny has arguably the best style on a board, but man, that shove-it on that bank after 2:46 ? He makes it look like 2 tricks, the shove the catch then the stomp. I just realized he has the best shove-its of all time. Feel free to tell me if someone else has them sicker and better.
Amazing board control at 0:41. Against all odds, ground is rough AF, transition is too steep and he's wearing shoes that look like winter boots. Yet obscene pop and shifty for extra style!
the last dude and the black guy with the leather gym bag really reminded me of why I left Paris to come live in London, they live in their comfy bubbles really unaware that people might be different or like different things like skating, especially Parisians which is supposed to be a cosmopolitan city. Sorry for the rant but to see how aggressive their use of work and how stubborn people can be.
There are idiots everywhere in the world. I've experienced idiots in Paris, I've experienced idiots in London. I've also experienced non idiots in Paris and non idiots in London. Have faith in the world dude.
he filmed like his whole Flip part in like 3 different days... I know its his style and all... but I wish he had skated a little harder...especially around this year 2000 footage...kinda the last of his prime abilities
While the rest of the skate world went skinny jeans, Penny went even baggier --- legend!
the baggier the better imo lmao
Baggy has made the comeback
Old style or no style
@Garden State RX8 cupsoles making a comeback as well.
What an incredible gift to share, Penny is one of the immortals, thank you & happy holidays, Fred!

@@toneohm215 frontside flip cancel frontside
I wonder how many millions of times I watched Menikmati back in the day? Penny's a bloody style god.
Penny skated better in those Koston 3's than Eric did lol.
I hit "like" before the video started... cool to see some old menikmati footy
Kelso high
me too :D
Damn I did the same too haha
Funny to see Tom Penny behind the scenes. I watched Flip Sorry, Menikmati etc. first when i was about 10. Still lovin' it
thank you for the gems Fred
that switch tre over the pyramid was effortless. plus the fakie indward heel down the double on Paris years before anyone started doing them
nobody does till dis day ..shit is tough
Yep :)
dateline nbc lol you clearly can't do either because that's a dead ass lie.

+Trevor Broadbent also best fs flips, switch stance or regular. you could make an argument for Andrew Reynolds but Penny is where it's at
I refuse to believe Tom doesn't do everything first try. Now deleting this from memory. Zzkzkzkzvxxjxj lol
this shit never gets old. it's still makes me laugh and want to go skate.
Double set.... “How do you do that!?” Penny - “what?” - “ that switch? Penny - “ Well I haven’t done it just yet”.... Lands back to back
Amazing board control at 0:41. Against all odds, ground is rough AF, transition is too steep and he's wearing shoes that look like winter boots. Yet obscene pop and shifty for extra style!
Those are the Koston 3's not boots , lol of course penny us best skater all time.
BlueLou Boyle those are obviously basketball shoes
BaseballGod nah Koston 3s. But Koston did go for the b-ball look.
this should have way more views, penny was so far ahead of his time
I wanna see that fish eye angle of the fake inward heel flip ! where is it Fred !
Tom Penny literally floats. Top 3 best styles for sure.
juven romero what's the top 3
who is even close?! perhaps bastien salabanzi but he pretty much mirrored his style after Penny's
@@urmommaahugehoe there are a lot of top styles along with Tom. Brian Herman, Luan Olivera, Dylan Reider are some good examples.
If you like Penny style, Tiago Lemos hits that territory of the contemporary masters.
@@poetsrear I like Tiago but I don't see much of Tom in him. Tiago's style is more aggressive than Tom's.
The nostalgia it brings seeing Penny in all the Es K3 colorways.... retro the Koston 3!
So great to see this footage! Amazing.
I downloaded a clip of the sw front foot impossible from kazaa back in the day :)
its in Menikmati
soooo amazing ...
I lost count on how many times I've watched this.
Tom I fucking LOVE YOU DUDE! Thanks for keeping me pumped on skating!
Sickest skater to ever of lived!
Some guy threatens to break my camera I'd kick him in the squash.
That little slide @ 3:35 - perfect
I really fucking like your filming FF
timeless
great footage as always totally appreciated
Would love to see the fisheye angle of that fakie inward heel on the double set
Live long, frenchfred!!!!
Magic.
that late back foot hardflip and switch ff impossible @ 2:53 though, lightyears ahead !!
Had that fronslide noseslide to.fakie on poster from an old thrasher once. Kicking myself now, bc I lost it over the years... Penny✌
I have that poster, it's a TSA clothing poster for 2001. It has the clothing line for that season on the back.
The backside oliie into power slide on that bank, kickflip line.
Goollldd solid gold time machine thanks french fred you rule
Has anyone even done a fakie inward heel down stairs besides him?
Reissue the Menikimati 'eS' classics.
Tom steez is everything
3:09 that flip that turn 90° wow i need to lean that way
@4:40 amazing
So sick❤️❤️❤️

damn he was so fuckin COOL i remember when i started to skate i wanted to be exactly like that
Or how about the late back foot hard flip lol
he filmed like his whole Flip part in like 3 different days... I know its his style and all... but I wish he had skated a little harder...especially around this year 2000 footage...kinda the last of his prime abilities
Where’s your clips at man? Right
check out a guy called spengan on insta, his style is kinda similar to pennys
Penny had too much style and drip back then.
4:21 does he even see anything through that beanie?!
Iamsidewalker STOMPED
What size board did he use ? 7.75 or 7.5
Nollie back side famille flip
Hey fred, have you ever caught a broken bone on film before?
What's this guy doing now
Did I see assault at the end?! Got it on camera...Press charges lol. Too bad it was many many years ago
Yeeeah
K3
2:59
:33 seek and destroy haha
Etnies hi ✋ ❤
I think Penny is a bit over rated. Someone these tricks were sloppy as all hell yet people yell "ohhhhhh" after he grinds 1 inch
How this video doesn’t have over a million views is beyond me.
ce type est increuvable !
This guy lost his leg in a moto bike accident.
who did
no he didn't
