I wanna make a take about the therapist attempting to sleep with his patient. Look the first sin of the therapist was even swiping right on his patient he likely will do this again at this point. Second the therapist established very quickly that this is a bad thing that will only end badly. He has already established an exit strategy. This therapist is manipulative and will likely only do more harm to people working on their mental health. It's kinda like if you made a racist person a police officer. The patient should do the hardest thing and report this person and separate entirely.
It's even worse that they're literally trained to understand and basically manipulate people's emotions
I want to let Donna know that my mom and I planted tons of milkweed at our house a few years back and it been growing like mad, and we have been seeing tons of monarchs we even had 13 chrysalises last year! From one butterfly lover to another I appreciate all you are doing donna :)

It is extremely wrong for a therapist to have any kind of relationship with a patient. It's a power play and opens the door to master manipulation. That person SHOULD have their license revoked.
I agree, I’m still working on becoming a therapist and finally finished undergrad but even in undergrad they teach you how unethical it is to seek any relationship with a client. I believe they said we can’t have relationships until after 8 years (I can’t really remember clearly but I know it’s years) to have any personal contact like inviting them to bdays and spaces that are not professional. We also had our professor show us the Yearly Calendar the board of psychology releases each year that has that has a long list of ex-licensed therapist who had their licenses revoked because of things like this. It’s sadly extremely common according to what we learned in the section of our legal and ethical course about working with clients.

It's actually disturbing if you think about it. The therapist KNOWS their patient feels comfortable with them, especially if they keep coming back for more sessions. It's disgusting to manipulate that to turn it into some sort of intimate feelings.
@@evanliveshere exactly like you stated with years of practice you learn when it’s okay to do things like that- I believe Yalom (psychiatrist) has a book about sessions with his patients where he uses methods that are not really seen as proper but make differences in his patients lives but also letting readers know that experience helps you figure out if doing said action like (going to a patients art event when they don’t have family support or friends and is not a professional setting) would be beneficial or crossing boundaries to a patient. He really helped me understand more about the importance of being that reliable weekly or monthly person to clients that they can feel safe and respected in their time with you. He is so clearly showing narcissistic traits here; he controls the behaviour of his family (not letting them do the wave either), dismisses how others feel (telling Ethan his childhood response was a "low trauma level" and puts other people in danger for his own thrill (driving too fast even when people are screaming at you to slow down). There are clear and valid reasons we have an issue with him.

That's because Trisha has no taste. She eats chicken nuggets with no sauce, salad without dressing (yes really..just lettuce), only eats the folded potato chips, eats plain noodles, etc. I'm sure Donna takes it as a compliment that Trisha didn't like her food. And for whatever reason (I have my own ideas) Trisha liked to start arguments and act extra af around Ethan, so there was no shame in dogging on his mom's cooking.

I think her point wasn't completed. I think she was going to say that one must just obey the law. That regardless of the age difference or how two ppl may feel during those five years of varying maturity levels or attraction or whatever, that the adult HAS to just respect the law and the minor and NOT allow the relationship to happen. It's unrealistic to think that this doesn't happen where both parties are genuinely attracted and may even be well matched in a handful of yrs, after the minor is old enough to make those choices themselves. But it is not only illegal but bad practice and shows the lack of respect and ability to refrain from temptation if the adult fails to act responsibly. In some cases it is very gross and obviously predatory and in others the ppl are more closely matched. Either way it should not occur.
I am watching and not a huge fan of Ethan or his dad. Love his mom tho, so not defending them specifically, just pointing out the reality of the variance.
Edit: if they can't go to the minors parents (assuming the parents are responsible parents) openly with their relationship, them there is obviously something wrong.
