Dogs are such wonderful magical creatures. So pure and full of love, we are so lucky that a bunch of wolves ended up hanging out with early humans hundreds of thousands of years ago

This is such a beautiful thing to have a trained service dog to help people with disabilities, I think it's just amazing and wonderful 👍👍🎇👏👏I love dogs, they can become good companions while in service 😁

megan doss I used to have seizures, but, I haven’t had one in over five years or so. I completely understand what you are going through. 🙂

I'd like to know how they train a dog to detect oncoming seizures or if they just figure it out through on the job training.
Way to go, UA-cam. The closed captions covered the subtitles when she was speaking, but weren't translating like the subtitles, just spouting gibberish.

It's in the dogs nature of detecting the condition. They never train them to know it.

@@Psalms23rd474 That's not entirely true. They can be trained to detect the scent of the seizure, but a lot of them have some kind of a natural alert that is then shaped into a more appropriate and obvious alert for the handler.

I have been training my pup for this she is with me 24/7 and is now 2.5 yrs a nz huntaway with good bark noise, very protective, .mainly when seizures occur they are minor physical ones but my old dog who had np training saved me from the big one and just licked my face till I came back . I will never not have dog with me ever again .

Service animals cannot be protective, and bark alerts are frowned upon, thought not disallowed, but they are obnoxious.

@@feathersong5838 well shes 5 now and does a great job . She has saved me from a rottweiler attack . She lays on me in seizure to protect me and keep me warm . She knows I will come back , I dont want people touching me when in a seizure sometimes I get confused coming out and can be aggressive to being handled by people . She does everything I trained her for and now she is about to help start training my next one . I am not a professional just a person with a dog to suit my needs .

Are they expensive? trained or non?

+sarah martinez they are very expensive. You could try yourself my dog alerted without any training. At 4,5 months she started she is now 7 months and getting better and better every day.

It would be useful if we had machines to sense seizures.
